Serenity Book Shop

I happened upon this little shop back in the winter and completely forgot to review it. It's a sweet little place with a lovely owner and an eclectic offering of both new and used books. I love the ones I picked up from there and look forward to visiting again.

Don’t let the name or signage fool you! This is a wonderful, small, independent bookstore with a laid back reading area and community gathering space with stage for special events. “Serenity” and “crystals” sounds like a throwback, hippie/New Age place. It’s just a nice little bookshop. I’ve been in a couple of times now and you wouldn’t know they sold “crystals” without the sign saying so. I don’t even know where they are racked because what you see when you go in are: coffee bar, tables, and… books! Frankly, I’d take down the “crystals” sign and replace it with a “coffee & tea” sign! ☕☕

The owners are working on building the book selection, so be sure to make suggestions.

The selection, though small at this point, is really very eclectic. The usual suspects are here (history, philosophy, politics, books for young readers), but also a shelf dedicated to the art of arts: essay writing. You will find popular writers, but also writers you never heard of - yet!

Serenity is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Drop in sometime. You’ll fall in love.

A very warm and friendly place. I pre-ordered a couple of books online a few days before and popped in to pick them up. She had a wonderful eclectic selection of used books, and I found many to purchase. I asked her if she accepted used book donations, and she said yes. Yay, I have a place to recycle books that I've read. It's so nice to visit an independent bookstore rather than a giant chain.

Today was the first time I visited this bookshop. The lighting and music selection was great. There were also a mixture of books both new and used. The store also sells crystals and coffee. I def will be returning to purchase more books and probably do some homework.

A nice, cozy, local bookstore! They had a small collection of candles and tumbled stones the last time I went on top of their collection of books. I treated myself to one of the hot coffees offered there.

This is a beautiful shop! I was able to find a book I have been wanting, but only found for sale on Amazon (The Isis Papers). I didn’t get coffee or tea this time, but it looked good! Loose leaf tea for sale too +++++
