This is our go to spot for salad dressing grade olive oils and vinegars. The quality of the products is outstanding, so much so, that I only used olive oil, vinegar and a pinch of salt and pepper for almost any kind of salad and even used them in sandwiches.
We love getting the owner's recommendations on what olive oils and vinegars pair best together.
If we cannot make to the store in person we purchase them online.

We have been going to OO&B and buying his beautiful Fine Olive Oils and Balsamic's for about 20 years now. Matthew was always so welcoming, kind and informative from the beginning and he is still exactly the same. We love going across the street after breakfast at Wilma's and doing some tasting's and then getting a few new bottles or restocking ones we have run out of or running low on. The Olive Oils and Balsamac's are really amazingly diverse and delicious.

This gem of a store is an absolute haven for all food lovers, including vegans (like me!), offering a culinary adventure that takes you far away from the "gluten-heavy synthetic garbage" that plagues so many American kitchens, aka SAD (standard American diet).

Located on Balboa Island, on the same side as the fire station, between MLN Barre/Pilates French Studio and the Market.

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by aromas – think fresh basil mingling with the earthy richness of aged balsamic, all swirling around the delicate fragrance of the finest olive oils. The owner, a culinary genius, is always on hand to guide you through this fragrant wonderland. Sampling oils is not just encouraged; it's part of the experience!

Gone are the days of searching for obscure ingredients or feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of options. Olive Oil and Beyond curates a selection of top-notch pantry staples that are both delicious and nutritious.
I have bought expensive organic oils in a glass bottle from the store, and let me share that there is a huge difference when cooking with these oils imported from Italy! For example, think about eggs and the difference between cracking a cheap stored egg and an egg from the farm...Huge Difference! The same goes for these oils vs grocery store oils.

He'll share tips on creating healthy, satisfying meals for the whole family, even the picky eaters (I know I have a couple!). Doubtful dinners to Dazzling dinners in one fell swoop. Olive Oil and Beyond ignited my inner gourmand, and now I'm ready to set the kitchen on fire (in a good way!).

Balboa Island is a picture-perfect day trip destination; if you are not from the area, I suggest making a morning or afternoon of it.
There’s an incredible TRX Pilates/Barre French Studio, "MLN Studio," that I highly recommend. Or, take a scenic power walk along the waterfront, enjoying the fresh air and stunning ocean panorama. Walking around the island is a favorite, and it is a 2.5-mile scenic loop. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 44 minutes to complete.
There's shopping, coffee, smoothies, eateries, the famous Balboa Bar, and Dad's Original Frozen Banana. You also have Fashion Island, which is 2 miles away.

Love this place! I stop by without fail every time I am in SoCal. The mission and lemon olive oil are staples in my kitchen. And their wide variety of balsamics are addictive. I have multiple bottles at all times. My favorite is the black cherry - perfect for salad dressing. I have also purchased online and sent gift sets to friends for various occasions. They are a huge hit every time! Thanks so much!

Had the pleasure being introduced to this shop and meeting Matthew while visiting from Tennessee. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate in his work and he allowed our group the opportunity to sample several of the oils and vinegars he had in stock in order to help us determine what we were interested in. Between fielding our questions and helping other customers in the shop, he had his hands full but still managed to help us find exactly what we were looking for. Being from out of town, I ordered online and received products in perfect condition. Packaging was extremely secure and I will certainly be ordering again.

I absolutely love this place, which I visited for quite several years now. I love the selection of products and the overall philosophy of the place, profoundly rooted in the Italian tradition of fine cuisine, together with the owner’s friendly and personable approach. I have rarely seen a more welcoming shop. I am buying from this store olive oil, honey and preserve, excellent olive spread, and something I particularly enjoy: what’s needed for polenta. Highly recommended.

My family and I have been shopping from here for years. Matthew is very knowledgeable, professional, polite, and kind. The quality of his products is superb. Certain negative reviews I read, where people were using improper language and personal insults, only prove that certain competitors are very jealous of this shop. I always recommend this place to everyone, who can appreciate superior quality products and service.

I visited Olive Oil and Beyond this week for the first time. I was immediately approached by the owner Matt Pour who took about an hour of his time to educate me on the fine art of making Olive oil and vinegar. He was a wealth of information and his passion for the subject made the conversation very interesting. He gave me many taste samples of his products along with the history behind making them. It was so good, I ordered many combo boxes as gifts for my clients and friends. Plus, I'm going back for many more. Great store, great product and a very nice owner. I couldn't ask for more. I look forward to talking with Matt again.

This is why I come to Balboa island. If you like olive oil and vinegar you will feel like a kid in a candy shop. The shop owner is very passionate about what he does and it shows both through his passionate attitude along with the quality of the products.

My husband and I first discovered this shop while we were on our honeymoon. The owner, Matt, took time to teach us about oils and vinegars and gave us many samples so that we could find what we like. I only use his olive oil and balsamics now! I make sure to go back every time I'm in Balboa and I've ordered online when I run out but can't make it to the physical shop.

Amazing!!!! This vinegar is the highest quality available and so delicious. Matthew, the owner, is so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve been coming here for many, many years and he always has new flavors to try. Definitely recommend!

If your on the Balboa Island Olive Oil and Beyond is a must stop. Matthew is always helpful and knowledgeable. We have discover so many wonderful oils here. And as always I found some beautiful Christmas gifts. We have been going for 15 years and hoping for 15 more.

I was re-introduced to this store by a friend (after trying a to-die-for balsamic at a food fair years ago) You simply have to taste these products to understand the difference in quality. In addition to the the delicious, vast variety of olive oils, vinegars and unique gourmet food items, the store is fabulous as is its staff. Matthew, the owner is extremely knowledgeable about his industry and a gracious host. He genuinely delights in introducing these wonderful products with his customers. I've been cooking with Olive Oil and Beyond's products for a couple years now and I admit, I'm now spoiled. I can never go back to regular oils or balsamics again!

Best quality and variety of imported Italian food products, hand painted pottery, cooking accessories and absolutely impeccable service. Matthew always treats us like family. This is a must go place to shop if you care what you're putting on your table.

There is no more special place to "drop in" when we visit Newport than to see Matthew and his staff. He is a gracious host, knowledgeable and articulate in his craft and understanding of all things olive oil and beyond. We are blessed to call him friend.

We always top here when we are visiting Balboa Island. The owner is super friendly and gives you little taste tests of the delicious oils and vinegars. We usually stock up on some of the imported goods and always buy oil and vinegar to get us by until the next trip!

I've been around the world, the entire world, several times, eaten at the best places, shopped all the markets, bazaars and stores and NEVER found better oils or vinegar than Mathew's ... Olive Oil and Beyond.
