Awesome shoppe. Mark is extremely knowledgeable and is able to steer you in the right direction. Great vibes in the shoppe. A great pleasure to have all items in the shoppe directly related to the craft. You'll find so many one of a kind items there. The jewelry is stunning. This is a definite place to visit. Get your fresh herbs the old fashioned way, not pre-packaged and old. Lovely assortment of crystals. I'm so glad I found this place. Well worth the drive!!!

Effigy is the perfect one stop shop for all of your witchcraft needs. It truly feels like home to me. Mark is absolutely wonderful. He's so knowledgeable and genuinely cares about his customers. Donna is so gifted and kind. She gave me my first tarot reading, and it was everything I could have hoped for and more. This isn't a 'take your money and run' kind of place. He has zero tolerance for people who aren't serious about the craft, and that's exactly why this place is so special.

After having experienced something rather traumatic prior to my visit, Mark made sure I left feeling better and having everything I needed. He did everything the could to help me. I came into his shop this morning feeling a tremendous amount of sadness, and left feeling hopeful. Don't hesitate to stop in. Mark will take care of you.

Such an amazing store! I do not practice the craft but I am very intrigued by it, so having Mark there as an incredible resource made my experience so enjoyable. He is very welcoming to all who are interested and will answer any questions you have. I left the store with more knowledge than I had before and I cannot wait to go back. I can not sing enough praises to Mark and his shop Effigy. I have been going to Effigy for many years now I frequently find myself using the apothecary for herbs and resins. The herbs are fresh and organic. The hand dipped insenses are my favorite. And I always leave with a new crystal. I have attended the Salem trip in the past which was a blast. Today was the first day I ever attended one of their classes. I went to their cleansing Class. A $20 donation: proceeds go to local animal charities. Mark is a great teacher and answers any questions his students have. I highly suggest attending classes at Effigy. The shop is a place of peace and a great resource; I’ve gone in to seek advice many times and have always felt like I was visiting an old friend. His prices are fair for the merchandise he sells. The hand crafted jewelry is high quality. I suggest everyone go and visit and pick up what ever they need from herbs to jewelry to tools of the craft to crystals.

I have been going to Effigy for about 3 years now. Every time I go, Mark and Donna consistently have been nothing but respectful, wonderful, and generally nice people. Every experience there has been nothing short of amazing. I have worked in customer service and with the "public" for most of my life; thus I have come to know what good customer service looks like. Mark and Donna are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, personable. I have NEVER been made to feel uncomfortable here, even when I was just starting out. Mark answers my questions with patience and humor. Their products are always well made, reliable, and unique. I rarely find the same thing twice. Yes, they are a little pricey, but I feel can put my trust in them.

Finally made it down, absolutely an amazing shop, met the owner and they were absolutely phenomenal and knowledgeable. Beautiful unique items/crystals and just everything you can need. Such good vibes, and learned a lot. Highly recommend!

A Hidden Gem

Though I’d driven by this unassuming little shoppe thousands of times, I had never quite made it there for a visit until.. I finally did. Life always seemed to “get in the way”; I was too rushed, too reticent. Would I be pressured in to buying something I didn’t want? Would it be uncomfortable to come in as a stranger to such a small niche place?

When I finally “made the time” to stop in on one September afternoon of 2021, my doubts and trepidations instantly disappeared.

I found Mark, his staff, and each fellow customer that entered, to be incredibly welcoming, genuinely kind, and knowledgeable. Effigy was filled with beautiful gemstones of types I had never even seen before; trinkets, finely crafted jewelry, herbs, and more. Not an overwhelming volume of inventory, but a carefully and lovingly chosen one.

I wandered in on a whim - apprehensive, alone, and not really knowing what I was looking for (“window shopping”) as one does. I left with new connections and friendships, and a handful of beautiful (and fairly priced) gems, and a headful of fascinating new knowledge to go along with them.

This is a great little shop! The curator Mark is extremely knowledgable, helpful and outgoing. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real deal witchcraft items. This is a place for made it China items. This is for hand made real deal supplies.

My hairdresser told me about this place and I’m so happy I came in. What a lovely shop. The owners of the store are so nice and know a lot about what they do. If you have any questions with any of there pieces or products or just in general they are happy to help. They also have a very sweet tarot card reader. I’m terrible with names😅but if you are trying to find someone that knows what there doing she’s the real deal! Definitely will be going back again. Great place!

Absolutely loved how unique this shop is. The owner is super knowledgeable and kind and willing to obtain oddities/certain items for you at your request. He is very interested in educating and most of his items are hand crafted and absolutely exquisite. Really a top notch experience and well worth the drive (35 minutes or so for me) but it is such a wonderful shop.

I love coming here. I don’t know what store these people have gone into with the low star rating. The energy in here isn’t bad, it’s really nice. This shoppe has a large selection of one of a kind handmade items that you can’t get anywhere. They have a large apothecary with fresh herbs in it. The staff are very knowledgeable and very helpful and make sure you feel welcome. It’s not a store that forces sales on you and want you to get out. They welcome you to sit and talk a bit and help you find what’s best to go with you. It’s a great over all experience in this shoppe and I feel more would benefit from it.

Mark is an amazing human being. He spent a great deal of time explaining the items in his shop, has a great selection of crystals and herbs, even has some really unique items that are not for sale but the stories behind them are historic and great to see someone is keeping the history going. He also offers classes which I am hope to attend. My new go to shop for my witchy needes.

my friend julia and I love coming in and learning about witchcraft. Mark is so helpful and teaches us so much everytime we go in we always come back with so much knowledge. He also makes sure that we practice authentically and ethically so his advice is almost as good as the products!! You have to stop by if you are interested in witchcraft because you can’t trust online but you can trust mark.
