It is a convenient local Safeway store in my neighborhood. I always get my fresh fruits and organic vegetables here. The whole store is clean, well-stocked with friendly staff. I had my flu and COVID booster shots at its pharmacy. Thanks for serving our community consistently

I wanted to give a shout out to the baker and decorator who made this cake you did an outstanding job 👏 the cake was everything I wanted. It was absolutely Gorgeous. Thank you so so much. It added the cherry on top for my birthday. Definitely recommend going to this bakery for custom cakes. Amazing job. 🙌 again thank you so much!

Great Safeway, and I’ve been to many.

Clean aisles, polite and fast staff. Lots and lots of supermarkety things, including a Starbucks inside to feed that caffeine monkey on your back. (This is PDX and you know you have a coffee addiction. It’s ok to admit it.)

Anyone who works here puts up with a lot of nonsense. Within their means they have reorganized the store. There is no (very little) camping that is close to the entry/exit or by the school. Given this neighborhood I think that is genuinely the best we can ask for -- safety and cleanliness. I never gets hassled like I am doing anything wrong as long as I abide by their posted guidelines. If I am carrying a big bag I throw it into my cart folded or closed and separate. I have never been given a dirty look for needing the bathroom. When cans rules changed and I was out of state they let me know so I could understand how things work now for collectors in the good. Prices are too much for anything these days but heck that is not their fault. I use their coupons on the app and it does the best for me. Their produce is reliable which means a lot to me. I don't get squeamish or worried about my purchases here. It's a reliable store. Yay one good review among everything that highlights this place's griminess-- it isn't more grimy than corporate'merica makes it to make the biggest buck and estrange the most fringe people. Human moment for them-- they didn't press charges on a known shoplifter once cause she was getting feminine products that time-- people do what they can within systems generally if you have an okay attitude.

I just want to give a shout out to the bakery at St Johns Safeway. I called with a last minute order for a birthday cake. The customer service was remarkable over the phone. No judgement on the rush order and the employee was super friendly. I gave vague instructions with flavor, filling, frosting and message. The biggest surprise was the amazing final product. I asked for something elegant. It was absolutely beautiful! The cake was delicious and we were very happy with it! Thank you so much for the service and care in our order!

The deals get better all the time ! Example: digital coupons. Gallon of milk: $1.97 ? WOW. Pint of Häagen-Dazs: .97 cents ? Are you guys crazy? Ssshhh. .. I mean, Thank you? I went every day after work for that last one. Lol. (Limit 2).

Great store. Have shopped here for a while. Good sales and selection. The service clerks are always helpful when I need them. Love the layout too.

All you people complaining should visit the one near me off MLK. Talk about just get in and get out asap.
Mid 2023 just on the edge of societal collapse... this Safeway remains a relief to shop in. Nice and clean and peaceful.

Mgr was really nice, if your gonna use the bathroom get the code first, a lot of bums when your driving around

This store is always clean, has self-checkout stations with fast, supportive clerks. Friendly employees help out when they can. I've also used their Drive Up & Go service, which is very convenient

Safeway has changed completely due to new management. Scott and Levaquin are incredible! It is very clean and has security! Ramar and Cristina are still there giving excellent service!! As well as Tammy! They offer new and unusual products. The waistlines are down. Check it out!! My favorite place to shop now! So long Fred Meyers, time to clean up you act!

The staff is very hardworking and patient. I'm amazed they keep the store looking so good. They handle the challenges of being in this neighborhood well.

Store staff is on point. Ask the produce staff what’s good at the moment. Dude cut open an orange and it was bomb. Bought 5. Good meat department as well. Hot food section is pretty dope too. Overall the only place to get groceries in St. John’s.

I never really go to this grocery store because I have another grocer that is closer to home but I needed something specific from Safeway. All the employees I dealt with while trying to figure out a holiday work coupon were super nice and helpful! Makes me consider stopping by there on my way home more often.

I switched to Safeway when Fred Meyers started charging 50 cents to get $20 cash back. The store was clean and we'll stocked. I was able to get everything on my list for Thanksgiving in one trip. Glad I made the switch.
