Beautiful, wholesome, serene environment with delicious food and they grow their own vegetables and herbs right there, all year long in their green house and organic land! Take a small day trip if you are in the Monadnock Region, you will enjoy the calmness and natural beauty of this place. One of our favorite getaways.

The atmosphere is very chill and they have great little food items every times I've been. The menu has some changing items but one that seems to stay is the maple lemonade. It's amazing.

Super cute, fresh food, organic farm viewable from the window, right on the way to Monadnock and Miller state parks. Inside is so cute too. Will be back

Our family loves this place. A perfect kids play area is a nice bonus to delicious local food! My only recommendation to owners is to get a couple of sturdy high chairs for littles as the one they have seems to be broken.

Nice people, beautiful building and welcoming atmosphere. The only thing I have eaten from here is the croissants. I am a croissant junkie and these are the best I have ever had. My daughter loves croissants so I took her and, on the way home she said, if I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be these croissants. So there you go,

Lovely, private- run shop. Pretty setting. Several tables. Good amount of customers. (Not too crowded, but obviously appreciated by many.) Didn't seem to have AC, but was still pleasantly comfortable on this hot day.

Quirky but homey place with friendly and conscious staff. Food is remarkably good and interesting. I had a "vegetable sandwich" even though I'm a real carnivore, and it was excellent! The tahini "cup" dessert was one of the best new things I've tried in years...simple, but delicious!

Delicious food and warm, welcoming atmosphere. It seemed like a very local place where everybody knew everybody else. Met the goat milk farmer whose milk was being served. Very unique experience.

One of the cashiers there noticed two ticks on me (had been hiking monadnock) and took them off. I'm forever indebted. Thank you!

Bright yellow farm fresh eggs star in the breakfast meals and sandwiches! This is a must try for the neighborhood!

This is a hidden gem - walk inside and you’ll never want to leave. - nor will you kids - special play area for them with books & toys. Also a lovely seating area outside. We come here for their b’fast sandwich - delicious - also have music events some evenings.

The Root has ruined most other breakfast places for me. The quality of food is top notch and the drinks are excellent. The Mocha coffee drinks are so mildly sweetened rather than other places which make a sweeter drink. I love it and look forward to giving them more of my money!

The Root offer the best food, from scratch, with the friendliest service. I drive 20 minutes to get there.

So glad to have stumbled upon this gem and will definitely be back again. It was cozy and welcoming, with a warm fire crackling on this brisk fall day. Excellent food and lots of GF options. The maple lemonade is a must try. I also got the breakfast sandwich, fish chowder, and lemon bar. Delicious all around and the prices are fair for the quality of food.

Amazing artisan breads. Beautiful seating area and the food is clearly made in small batches, with love. Its a little expensive, but the breakfast and bread we purchased was perfect.

Probably the best cafe I've ever visited. The food is amazing and the choices have all been so unique and delicious. I bring all my friends here and recommend it to everyone passing through. There's also a poetry night once a month that will bring in stellar locals :) if I'm going to spend my money eating out, it's going to be at this cafe that focuses on organic and locally sourced ingredients ❤🙌🏾✨

I absolutely love this place. Great quality food and coffee and owned by a wholesome family. Ingredients are either from their property or local. Highly recommend. Surprised I hadn't found this sooner.

Stopped here for a quick lunch to go. The turkey sandwich is delicious and though I didn't stay to eat there, the atmosphere was very inviting.

What a delightful place in the midst of, well...nowhere. Worth the drive from anywhere though. Somehow, some way, these owners have created a downtown coffee WiFi shop in a beautiful barn. A place filled with all kinds of places to sit, and coffee and pastries. What more could you ask. Be prepared to walk in with an open mind. This is like being in a college town, all kinds of people. I think that's why I liked it best, well, except for the coffee and pastries. Actually coffee, pastries, a beautiful setting and all kinds of people might have been up for a tie:)
