Oregon Trail Trading Post

Stopped for lunch driving home to Lincoln from Chadron State Park. Ordered two cheeseburgers and a Philly steak sandwich. The food was hot and delicious. The best thing for me though was the view south, of the hills around Ash Hollow.
(Tip: After eating, pay for your food at the cash register in the attached convenience store.)

Open 6AM to 2PM. Stopped for breakfast. Fresh omelette and hashbrowns with sourdough toast, plenty of coffee. It appears from signs that the business is for sale.

The food was great! The server was really nice and overall a fantastic restaurant!

Good food and super nice people! If you are passing by you should give it a try.
Also stayed a night at the campground. Nothing fancy but everything you need. Full hookups and a great price!

New owner as of July, 2023. I’m impressed. It is in good hands. The food is delicious. The service is excellent and you will enjoy reading all of the signs posted around. We have driven past several times but will plan on stopping from now on.

Perfect spot for a tasty lunch, good old-fashioned diner, love the booths.

Catfish nuggets, chicken fried steak, kids pancakes, and kids french toast. This place is delicious. My kids said this is the best chocolate milk they have had. One kid said the pancakes were better then mine at home, not sure how I feel about that. This is a great place to stop and eat. The staff is nice and friendly.

Didn't make it in time for the cafe. The cafe was open 6am-2pm but the store was still open. The lady that worked there was very nice and gave us some history of the town.

I can't say anything about the food. I didn't eat there, but the staff is very friendly and helped us out!!! Loan us a tool to fix a car.

This may be a hole in the wall cafe off the gas station on Highway 26. But, you must try it. I had the chicken fried steak skillet with some Tabasco on it. It took awhile to get the food, it was worth the wait. The food is fresh and filling and you could not beat the price. Will definitely stop here again.

Stopping to eat here is a must. Good homestyle food and great service. We had roast beef open face with homemade mashed potatoes and lots of gravy, yum & so tender. Friday is all you can eat Walleye! You won't be disappointed eating here!!

Our family ate at the cafe here the night before the '17 eclipse. We were warned ahead of time that they were kind of stressed out by the crowd of tourists packed into the town for the eclipse. However, they were very pleasant with us and the food was delicious. It turned out to be a great place for supper.

Well kept quiet site for an overnight. Full hookups. It's only a place to park. No bath house or playground. I came in November, so the water was understandably but turned off. There is a railroad track nearby, if that bothers you. People are friendly, and diner food is tasty. Good overnight spot with a gas station to get you rolling in the morning.

Fantastic homemade pies! Wife and I had peach and strawberry/rhubarb and both were great! Steak sandwich was also very good - genuine thick steak and not shaved!

Great food! Great service, so friendly! The bacon was perfect & the fried walleye & eggs were amazing!

We love the people that work here and own this restaurant. They never disappoint!
