The Donut Tree And Bakery

The Donut Tree is a wonderful place. I admit that when I first tried it, I was a tad overwhelmed as to what I was desirous to try. The selection of donuts went quickly and I was left with only a few choices, (at least at that time.)
However, The Donut Tree has REALLY stepped up their game.
The variety of donuts are Amazing!
Delectable.
Memorable.
Yummmmmy.
When I first bitten into my donut, a flood of childhood memories came flooding in. Not many types of food can do that.they were memories long forgotten, all sparked by a single bite of a donut...I am not saying that these donuts will do that for everyone, but they are worth checking out.
And as long as they are able to continue to make such food, I will continue to return there.
I was lucky to come in at a time when the morning rush had passed. Which was nice.

Donuts have never disappointed!
They are made fresh daily and sometimes you get something special (strawberry fritter in my case) that is just overwhelmingly delicious.

In this quaint small town shop you will find the friendliest staff and the most amazing, melt in your mouth, made from scratch donuts. We ordered a dozen old fashioned cake donuts with a variety of flavors. Original, glazed, chocolate frosted, maple frosted and the most delicious blueberry. It has REAL whole blueberries throughout! I also picked up a Bavarian cream filled donut and brownie. Within the store you will also find a coffee shop and ice cream counter. The young lady serving coffee this morning was a delight. Bright and cheerful with a smile that would welcome anyone and made me an excellent blended coffee with extra espresso that was just what I needed. The owner was most helpful in accommodating my indecisiveness and went above and beyond to make sure I had the donuts I had come for. If you are on the fence about trying it out, don’t be! You won’t regret one single choice you make here because it’s all wonderful! They also serve other pastries and long Johns in a variety of flavors and have some of the biggest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and stop in! Really wish I had taken the time to take a photo before they vanished!

This place has some amazing bakery goods! Everytime I've had them, they have never disappointed!

Donuts and other pastries are always fresh and delicious. The last time I was there, I was looking for blueberry cake donuts. She hadn't made them yet and asked if I could wait for them. I agreed to wait and she immediately made them for me. She even made conversation with me while I watched her make my donuts from beginning to end. They were amazing and totally worth the wait. I no longer buy my donuts from grocery stores. BEST DONUTS AND BREAD IN TOWN!!

1) The donuts/pastries are the best I've ever had. That's 40 years of donut experience. Seriously. Had 4 different items and they were all the best representation of the donut variety. Artistry happening at this location.

2) The lady making the donuts and running the shop is friendly and personable. Such a sweetheart.

I've met plenty of donuts in my life and enjoyed a spectrum of donut-types. There's almost always a trade-off, where yummier equals less healthy and more guilt because of excess sugar or oil.

The two donuts I enjoyed at the Donut Tree this week required no trade-offs: they were fluffy and yummy and soul-warming with just the exact right amount of chocolate and maple frosting. They immediately knocked my previously favorite donuts off of the pedestal.

The trouble is that this place is 542 miles from where I live. Wait: maybe that is a good thing as I have limited self-control.

Plus, the owner and staff were kind and enjoyable AND there was a good selection of donuts in the hour before closing time. Can't imagine a better donut experience...

Wonderful pastries and people! What a wonderful business to have in the community. We stopped by on our way through town and are so glad we did. Everything is delicious!!

I think the key is to try and go early for the best selection and freshest donuts. We've now been twice. If I'm being 100% honest my family was not impressed the first time (almost 2 years ago). We had bought a dozen of their specialty donuts. The donuts were heavy and dry and there wasn't a very big selection. Decided to try again (but get there early) and it was a HUGE improvement. The donuts we tried today all had a light consistent dough and the giant cinnamon buns were worth waiting the extra 10 minutes for. Really nice people and very cute/interesting shop. Glad we decided to give it another go and will definitely come back in future.

Great service and some the best coffee and Absolutely Amazing Donuts. I travel for work so I have ate at a few 😋. Brought a dozen of mixed to the job and you guys were a huge success!!!!!!!!! Thank You for some amazing sweets.

I spent 5 years in the donut/bakery business many years ago, I was thrilled to find out there was a home-style bakery here in Mountain Home, Idaho! I have gone there several times over the past several months and always find the variety wonderful, the flavors delicious, the atmosphere delightful and the conversation (with the owner and others) stimulating! She has donuts, breads, spectacular cinnamon rolls and hot coffee or tea always at the ready! And, on Thursdays she even does homemade soup in the winter months and handmade sandwiches in the summer months! The is some construction currently being accomplished in the area, but she has her shop open and ready to serve the hungry customer! Hours vary sometimes, so check her website or just stop by and if she's not open, she's either sold out or it's just too early or too late! Enjoy!

Great place to get doughnuts in Mountain Home Idaho. Amazing choices! I had an old fashioned buttermilk that was dipped in chocolate. Even though the top was coated with chocolate, the great crunchy outside of the doughnut was still there. No picture of it because I ate it to fast. A twist and a Maple bar also didn't make the picture. Couldn't just buy one. Had to get 7. Great atmosphere with a hard working crew. This place is a must if you're in the area or passing by on I84.

By far one of the best donuts I have ever eaten. Visiting from Colorado, I wanted to support a small local business, and this was a great choice. Locally owned, with the donuts and fresh breads made in view. I will be back!!

I always wanted to stop in and get some doughnuts but never had a chance to until today❤ The shop was so welcoming ❤ Got a chance to meet the beautiful owner and I finally got some doughnuts.
When I got home I just had to try it (it was chocolate on top and chocolate inside sprinkled with coconut)
It was amazing - I would recommend everyone to stop by and get some doughnuts and to say hello..

Today she helped me a mom, far from my sweet kids, smile! It helped too that she bakes incredible sweet treats! I had tasted her sweets this past December while visiting our kids at Christmas. I was not disappointed. So a huge shout out to the Donut Tree Bakery for getting some homebaked goodies to our Nathan and Allyson when their moms wished they could be there themselves baking goodies!

A delicious place to fill your sweet tooth. My favorite was the blueberry cake donut with a cinnamon roll coming in at a close second.
The lady that runs it is a total sweetheart. If you are visiting Mountain Home or the Air Force base it is a place you need to check out.

Two weeks in a row I have gone here to get doughnuts on Saturday morning, and have not been disappointed! The giant apple fritter with maple glaze has become my favorite, because it has a cravable crunch on the outside and a full bodied center complete with the occasional apple chunk. My wife prefers their bacon doughnut as it is is a well portioned long john with bacon pieces attached with maple icing.

I joined the bread club and my first loaf of fresh sourdough bread was fantastic. It is a bit smaller than the average loaf of bread from the grocery store, but you can't get this kind of flavor from a high volume production line. The crust is tough and the body is fluffy and has an acidic bite like a good sourdough should. I can't wait for my next loaf.

The staff have personality. Some might see it as pushy, but I enjoy the banter and they are very accommodating. They didnt have any of my wife's bacon doughnuts when I arrived, so they put some bacon on a doughnut for me with no problem.

We found this gem while on the Idaho Donut Trail. Hands down our favorite and worth the drive! Dorain made our morning so enjoyable. I will forever crave the caramel pecan rolls.
