Nipmuck State Forest

I went hiking here with my friends and we had a lot of fun! It was towards the end of summer and the weather was perfect. We hiked on a trail that looped us around the marsh, which probably took close to 2 hours. Saw a couple of frogs, a large bird in flight (possibly an egret?), and tons of mushrooms. We are planning another hike in Fall!

Great place to get away from the city! Good place to hike, bike and camp. Also saw a couple of people using ATVs, so I'm guessing one can do that as well. Not as populated as Bigelow State Park on holidays.

Super cool hidden little gem of forest, great trail system and fishing..

Beautiful place to walk, bicycle, and paddle your canoe or kayak. Plenty of parking and porta pottys are available. Nice boat launch too. The scenery is exceptional and the trails are well groomed snd marked. Can't wait to go back!!

Brought my home girl for a walk here we ended up loving the place I'm glad I carry my fishing pole with me the fish is on fire there big bass big crappie.an pan fish I was surprised.i will take another weekend trip here

A great secluded location to go for a hike. It's very easy to feel far away from civilization in this forest, and it's a nice change from the city. If you plan on hiking, make sure to bring plenty of bug spray! Overall, I recommend the Nipmuck State Forest for anyone looking for a little nature or to go for a hike!

The eastmarch shelter was taken by a dad that wasn't paying attention to his son of roughly 12 years.

I was disappointed in his parenting but I persevered.

I hope his actions in no way reflect the state of this forest but I don't think they do.

A great drive through a ct forest, with nice views. Be sure to pay attention for the sign to enter. Google takes you a bit further down

I highly recommend the trails off of skopek road. Follow down to Sessions Marsh Pond. It is a serene and quiet walk through the woods.

Absolutely beautiful ....with lots of great hikes. People are respectful and pick up after themselves not leaving litter all over it. This is great:-)

The quiet corner of CT. The whole area is under-utilized so there is never a crowd. My destination is usually the Boy Scout Camp, but the surrounding forest is a great resource.

Lots of distance easily could do a 14 mile day without crossing the same path. Plan on it being buggy and muggy, as well as spotty cell service

Always a pleasurable hike, especially since the nice young Scout from troop 165 out of Charlton mass lashed that great bridge!

Great place, although we looked all day and never got a chance to see any Nipmucks running around, or in their natural habitat.

Beautiful. We had fun geocaching there. Very cool rock walls and small waterfalls.

Is the most nice place to go camping it's quieted and it has a lot of nice people it has a big pool and a store where you can find anything you one I recommended to anybody
