Camp Merri-Mac

My daughter went for several years and it was amazing! She made some of her best friends while she was there! They still have camp reunions every year and they were even in her wedding!!

Had a wonderful Mother Daughter weekend! Great staff and family. Camp is in a beautiful location. Various fun activities to choose from. First camp experience for us. Would totally recommend others to consider this camp. Go Red Wolves 🌿🌻🌾🌟🏹🙌

Camp Merri-Mac has been an incredible experience for our daughter. It is such a wonderful setting for young girls/ladies to gain independence and build self-confidence in a safe, supportive environment. Our daughter has lots of fun, learns things about herself and tackles new challenges at camp -- in ways that can't be easily replicated at home. The leadership of the camp is highly professional and organized and it is clear that they run a first-rate operation.

My daughters have attended Camp Merri-Mac the last two years and I can honestly say it has been life changing for them. There's so much to say, the friends that they've made, lots of different activities for them to try and experience, and the personal growth they experienced is beyond our expectations. I love how they've made friends with girls across the United States and communicate with them throughout the year. The camp counselors are wonderful and a great role model for the campers. From the moment, we arrived at Camp Merri-Mac, it felt like home and everyone is so welcoming. My girls will have memories to last a lifetime. They count down the days to camp each year and are already looking forward to another summer at Camp Merri-Mac!!

After researching a lot of camps, we decided on Camp Merri Mac and have loved our time there. It is a safe place for the girls. The whole team is so helpful and kind. The girls create such a wonderful bond with the camp, the counselors and other campers that this relationship weaves itself in their lives throughout the year. It offers structure, fun, fellowship and a place where the girls grow in confidence, knowledge and skills.

I was never a camper, but I was a counselor the whole summer. Not only was I able to invest in the campers, but I was able to invest in fellow counselors, other staff members, we were always interested in growing, coming up with new ideas for our activities and ideas for the cabin life. If I ever have a summer to return to Merri-Mac, I will gladly do it all over again. No doubt one of the best summers of my life.

We sent one of our daughters to Camp Merri Mac for the first time last summer. She was 7 and stayed for 2 weeks. She absolutely loved it! She simply cannot wait to go for a full month this summer. We're sending our 6 year old, AND we're all attending the Father-Son and Mother-Daughter weekends in May. We look forward to a rich future with Merri Mac.

It was back in the early to mid 60’s. I loved it. I went for 2 summers for a 5 week session. I’m from Tampa Fl. I went back I went back to visit in 2007 on one of my honeymoon to show my husband. Could not believe it was a co girls and boys camp. Merri Mac was the girls camp, Rockmont I believe wad the boys camp and Camp Ahoy was another camp that we went up to water ski. That wad one of the best 2 summers of my life. There are several times I would love to go back to those years! There were 3 tribes Seminole, Iroquois, can’t remember the 3rd one it was either Choctaw or Cherokee. I was an Iroquois.

I was a counselor at Merri-Mac during the summer of 2015! Merri-Mac is a beautiful community of girls from all ages and places of life. This summer was the best summer of my life because of how I was able to invest in my campers, learn from other staff, experience the beauty of God and His creation, and have SO much fun. Camp Merri-Mac is an amazing experience for girls of all ages! I am so excited to return in summer 2016!!

Camp Merri-Mac does everything first class! Our daughter grew in so many ways her first summer and had the opportunity to try her hand at all sorts of hobbies and experiences. We had utmost confidence that she was safe and happy.

Tomorrow morning we will drop off our daughter for her 6th summer at Merri-Mac. She is so excited! We met dear friends from the DC area in Asheville last night- they have all been singing and laughing non-stop as they now have only hours until drop-off!

I was blessed to spend my summers at Merri-Mac. I still thank my parents for investing in independence, sense of community, love of the outdoors, lifelong friendships, incredible female role models, adventure, laughter, and faith. I am honored to share this special haven with my daughter and thrilled that she has made it her own. Thank you, Boyd family!

My daughter will be returning to Camp Merri-Mac this year for her fourth summer. She has had a truly amazing experience each and every summer. She has been able to participate in activites that she enjoys at home as well as try out (and even grow to love) things that she might not have ever experienced in her day-to-day "city life." She had made new friends each summer, and keeps up with a fair number of them throughout the year. She carries a deep love for Camp Merri-Mac and it is something she talks about often throughout the year. My wife and I could not be happier with her experience at Merri-Mac. We have seen a growth in her independence and maturity each summer that cannot be understated. As a father to a now 10 year old girl, this is what I love the most. We will continue to do whatever it takes to send her to Camp Merri-Mac as long as she wants to go. This year she will go for 4 weeks (did I mention she's 10?) and cannot wait. My wife and I have the utmost trust in Adam and Ann Boyd to keep her safe and provide her with a remarkable experience. As Adam says... every child should have the opportunity to to attend a single-gender, traditional summer camp. If you are looking for a summer camp for your daughter, I cannot more highly recommend Camp Merri-Mac for girls in Black Mountain, NC.

“Camp Merri-Mac has been the best part of my childhood.” This is a direct sentiment from my 16yo daughter when I took her back to Merri-Mac for her last year as an eligible camper (because of her age) almost two weeks ago. Each summer, Camp Merri-Mac has been such a beautiful contribution to the overall foundation of the essence of who my daughter is as a person. The gifts of Merri-Mac are innumerable and everlasting. During these oh-so-formative years, Merri-Mac enhances the experiences, opportunities and qualities parents hope and dream of for their daughters not only during the summers of childhood but also for a lifetime. Merri-Mac gifts aren’t merely in the moment although they are glorious each and every season. Rather, the gifts of Merri-Mac and all of the magical friendships and meaningful adventures are transformative and such an invaluable investment in a girl’s overall sense of self. My gratitude as the mother of a Merri-Mac camper is immeasurable.

It's been the best gift we could ever give to our girls! It's a very special place for them and I know it always will be. It's a safe place where for a couple of weeks your girls can be girls and not worry about outside pressures of any kind. No makeup, no boys, no social media! I highly recommend this loving Christian camp! By the way the counselors are outstanding!

I was so impressed with this camp during my daughter's first summer in 2015. The facilities are beautiful, the counselors are wonderful and the emphasis on Christian values is so important to me. My daughter is looking forward to another great summer at Merri-Mac!

I can not properly articulate how much love I share for Camp Merri-Mac. Over the past 7 years Camp Merri-Mac has become my second home and has allowed me to grow in confidence, as well as my relationship with God. The friendships that I have made and the lessons I have learned at this "safe haven" will forever have a lasting impact on my life. The grand beauty of the blue ridge mountains is incomparable and allows anyone to delve deep into all the greatness camp has to offer. If there is any question whether or not to come to Camp Merri-Mac , have no doubt, it will be the best decision of your life.

Our two girls are on their 3rd year at Merri-Mac. This adventure was a gift from their grandfather who has since passed away - but his gift goes on - as they continue to treasure the camp experience. We hear Merri-Mac stories all year long. They don't seem to get old, either in the telling or the listening. And then each year there's another series to add on to the ones that came before, like the ever growing camp song book.
Most importantly, the counselors at Merri-Mac are first rate young ladies. I don't know how Adam finds them or what the selection process is, but if I was a Fortune 500 hiring executive, I'd swoop in at the end of the summer and offer post-graduation jobs to the whole lot whole lot of them. These young ladies are fantastic role models for the girls -- interacting, teaching, guiding, molding from morning revellie to nightime prayer. Whether giving back or paying forward or simply on a Blue Ridge adventure of their own, I apperciate every one of them for their total commitment to what they do. Just amazing people at an amazing place.

We love the opportunities that Camp Merri Mac & Timberlake offer our children! Being unplugged, adventuring, growing, fellow shipping in a Christ-centered environment is such a blessing! I dare say, children/teens cannot have too much character building in a safe, loving community...Go Noles!💛💙💛💙
