Best carry out dishes and food! Poppyseed Chicken casserole is my favorite! You can freeze it and bake it later, too. Fresh salads, veggies, desserts - great banana pudding! Perfect to serve as your own with guests, for you and/or your family, also perfect place to get dishes for potluck, and great if you need to bring a dish. You can call ahead too and have them set aside your favorite in case they run out.

Tourists driving by after a hard day hiking. Walked in, was greeted by a dozen smiling faces who made it clear that the ‘take out’ aspect was brilliant! Don’t underestimate by location! We ate like royalty. NOT a ‘comfort food’ dive. Grilled salmon with watermelon relish? Lawdy! Eat here!

I recently used Southern Star on Signal Mountain for a family lunch after a funeral. Our family raved about how wonderful the assorted quiche, orzo salad, and cookies were. The staff at Southern Star were also a delight to work with. I’m definitely stopping by the next time I’m in town.

The chicken salad is excellent here. Also the country vegetables and meatloaf are very good. I highly recommend this as a restaurant to eat at.

My wife is recovering from major shoulder surgery. It’s great to have a place with good food since I am fairly cooking challenged.
