Bearcat Getaway

Camp sites, roads, restrooms and shower houses maintained well. I didn't use bug spray and didn't get bit. Our site was a few minutes walk to the Black River who's water is clear to the bottom in so many places. Gravel bar beach offers excellent night sky view. Staff is friendly and helpful, even gave us ride when we had a flat tire. We love camping there, especially when there's a good show. Good options for nature lovers and party people too! Love it!

So glad we got to have a one drop bearcat'n weekend again!!!! Thank you Deborah and John for making sure we had the perfect site, you guys did a fantastic job on what I know was a crazy weekend..and all the work leading up to it!!! I hope it happens every year!!! Maybe even twice next year!!! It would be the perfect way to start and end a summer!!! ❤❤❤

Black river in MO, clear all the way to the bottom, and more for an experienced camper or RV. Float was great, people are great, and hope to come back!

Our large group from Peoria, IL had their annual Float Trip Weekend here for at least 12-15 years. I made 7 in a row & had an absolute blast every time. The Campground is beautiful, the beach is clean & the water is clear & fresh. The Staff is very cool & the amenities are pretty decent considering you're in the middle of the woods. Great Bands during the Busy Season on a large stage. It's definitely a good place for families as well as the rowdy groups like ours. Very affordable too: our trip was $55 for the float & the weekend camping.

Without a doubt my favorite place to vacation! Amazing staff family friendly, great place to have a good time! I've been coming here since I was a little girl I'm now 26. They have their own canoe rental and shuttle you from the campsite and back so you don't have to worry about booking through somebody else! Free firewood clean showers and bathrooms also have bands play not to mention the Super Convenient Store that's right at the campsite. hands down my favorite place to camp. Did I mention you can get pizza delivered to the campsite. Amazing

Campers and staff were friendly. Concert Saturday night went for almost 3 hours, lots of fun. The all you could eat BBQ meal that came the package, was good, especial the creamy potatoes salad and pulled pork. My first float trip, loved it. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

This place is wonderful! The river is beautiful, the camp sites are taken care of, the concerts are free and the firewood is included. The late "light's out" time is perfect for people who want to enjoy themselves with friends late at night.

Bearcat rocks!! I picked up a nail in my tire on the trip down so when I woke up in the morning I had a flat, they offered a lot of assistance in making sure I got that situation resolved. Campsites are spacious, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The float route was perfect, we took our dog in a canoe and we all loved it. The stage for the live music is cool too and the bistro has good food. I definitely recommend heading to Bearcat and floating the beautiful Black River.

Some friends from high school and I have been going to Bearcats Getaway for about 25 yrs or so. We have our annual float trip and it's something I look forward to each year. I missed about 3-4 years in a row due to life changes. They have an awesome Amphitheatre there! They have bands on Fridays and Saturdays. They also have meals for the Saturday night dinner and music. All around great place to camp and canoe! The river is walking distance and the comrade is wonderful. The staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met.

We have been going there every year for the last 3 years, and I have every expectation we'll keep doing it. We love it there. Leave the BS at home though, these people have heard it all. Long as you aren't disturbing everyone they will let you keep the fire burning well into the night. Rates are completely reasonable, their river access is AWESOME, they have a LIVE FREAKIN BAND every weekend, and firewood is free. I strongly suggest this place if you want to actually have a good time and cut loose just a bit. That said, it isn't so crazy you can't bring your kids.

Had a blast canoeing, drinking, friends, live bands, everyone’s friendly it’s been a good time every time I’ve went I might go back soon

Great campsites, clean restrooms, large river access. Trashbins at each site that are maintained. Plan on reserving same sites in future

Love it, the live music is a great touch. It's an older and outdated campground. Not to much grass in campsites but that don't stop me from going back.

Great place to camp! Nice people to work with. Tons of fun. Be prepared for a party atmosphere - and a great time!

I've been to Bearcat several times now. I love the atmosphere and they have the bistro open on the weekends, which makes it nice to grab some food when you don't feel like cooking.
