Mahzu Japanese Restaurant East Windsor

A grab and go experience for me. We were passing by our way to DC and stopped for a quick lunch, ended up taking it to save some time so we didn't experience the whole diner experience. But the poke bowl was good and the staff attentive.

This is an amazing restaurant. We took my daughter for her 6th birthday and I cannot say enough. Every one of the staff members were wonderful with my kids. They went above and beyond to make us feel like family. Better than family, if I'm going to be honest. Plus the food and drinks are absolutely delicious.
This is by far my favorite restaurant.

Always delicious. My favorite is the beef negimaki and the hibachi dinners. Mahzu takes good care of their customers, and everyone is very helpful and nice. Worth it. I am thankful for Mahzu !

Mahzu was a great place to dine for our group of 10. The place is very spacious & clean.The food was like in any other hibachi restaurants in the US. But Wayan, our hibachi chef made our dining experience one, a wonderful one. He was a pro not only with his culinary skills but his interaction with the fellow guests was worth 5 stars ⭐. The only thing we weren’t aware was the BYOB policy & we missed out on the beverages. If they add a bar, then it’s going to be a hit. Anyway, we had a wonderful time. 😊😎👍✅✅✅✅✅

Below is a previous review I wrote. Since then the General Manager has personally reached out to me and corrected the situation. It says a lot about a restaurant when a general manager personally contacts you to discuss the problem We will definitely be back there soon!

Not the best experience my family of 8 had at the hibachi dinner Sunday night for my son’s birthday. Been here many times for celebrations and this last experience was below average. The chef had no personality whatsoever. No greeting when he arrived, no “tricks” during the show, no effort even with the onion volcano. He just added no fun to the dinner. Not the experience we were expecting. Then why even ask how you would like your filet prepared. Three of our guests said “medium rare” and it was cooked medium well. Also, first time ever the noodles were prepared and plated first, then the rice, then we waited for our meat to be cooked. So the noodles and rice were already eaten for if we waited they would have been cold. Then the vegetables came at the very end! Usually everything is timed better to eat all together as a meal. For almost $300 this will definitely be our last celebration here!! Plus the restaurant was freezing. The elder family members were so uncomfortable cold. I spoke to a manager on the way out, and he was explaining that there is a language barrier with the Chef but I don’t see how that affected him doing the standard hibachi tricks that you expect. ??

The staff here is so nice and welcoming. The place itself is so clean and wide open.
The hibachi is a great experience of the culinary expertise and Al a carte menu has a wide range of food choices from all kinds of meats for hibachi to sushi rolls and ramen bowls and much more.

The experience is unforgettable and the expertise of the chef are highly commendable. The food taste great and meat are fresh. And Ofcourse they’re cooked in front of you.
The vegeterian food is Cooked in the kitchen on a different skillet. Which was great to know.

Highly recommend this place.

Had a wonderful meal at Mazu it was quite tasty. My only complaint about the place time and time again in the winter months It is literally like eating outside. It’s that cold. When you ask why they don’t put the heat on they give you an answer that makes absolutely no sense they point to the hot grill as if people would be sweating to death sitting next to it. So if you’re ready to have a great meal and you don’t mind wearing a winter coat, this is the place to go for hibachi.

I took my wife here for Mother's Day. We had a reservation for 4:30 and were seated promptly. After being seated we waited for about 40 minutes for our chef and it was worth the wait. Our chef was very interactive with everyone at our table and put on a good show. My wife had the lobster and scallops, my son had chicken and salmon and I had the filet mignon and chicken. All of the food was cooked perfectly and to the right doneness. this was our first time here and won't be our last.

Chicken Katzu Ramen and Hibachi Shrimp for lunch. The umami lingers on the palette. So delicious and beautifully presented. The waitstaff engaging and full of smiles. Haven’t been here in a while and wondering why not!!! They also have the best napkins anywhere.

Have been coming here for over 12 years. Even tonight on Xmas Eve the service and food were 10/10. We felt like the wait staff was waiting on us hand and foot....funny, courteous, prompt. The chef put on a great show. The food as always was fresh and delicious. Mahzu is only getting better it seems.

Another outstanding x-mas eve dinner at Mahzu! The hibachi, sushi, and tofu were all exceptional. Despite the holiday rush, the staff was incredibly attentive, accommodating and had a great sense of humor. A memorable experience with fantastic food and impeccable service.

This place gives you private vibes.... Think about this. You and me on a private plane flown by our private pilot, eating our private meal cooked by our private chef.

OMG the food was so good, I haven't been to a hibachi place in years, ever since they closed Banzai on quaker bridge rd. Our waiter & chef were awesome & very helpful. I've never been here before but I really liked this place, me & my bf definitely found our new hibachi place. 😋

Great place to eat! Quick and friendly, 5 be stars!

Good food, good service, great sushi! We sat on the sushi restaurant side and it was much quieter however you could still hear a lot of the commotion over on the Hibachi side.

Just updated my review from 3 years ago and I will say it has almost gotten better! If that was even possible! Her favorite roles are the hot lover and the paradise roll highly recommend both of them! The special, dinosaur egg was also amazing! That's what's in the picture. However there's not much we've had that hasn't been good. Service is also great and super friendly!

This place is absolutely spectacular. It’s one of my favorite places to go, and the chef is absolutely amazing. Everyone there is fun and the food is delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.

My husband and I absolutely love the food here!! We got engaged here back in December and we have been coming here regularly ever since. If you liked Banzai in Hamilton, this is the closest tasting hibachi you will get!
