Such an amazing restaurant/bar friendly people. The owners are 2 of the nicest people I've met in a very long time. The rooms are very nice up to date free WiFi, cable.

Didn't eat, had a few cocktails. Other patrons very nice. Staff very nice as well.
Stayed at the motel. Only complaint, the air conditioner sounded like a freight train.

What a fun little place and such good food! Staff were all very pleasant and efficient! Serving lots of fried fish along with a few other items (think home style cooking), this place hit the hungry spot after a day of sightseeing. Unpretentious but super clean and friendly, food was homemade and cooked perfectly, very reasonable prices. Don’t forget the pie-take a slice home of the homemade choices to enjoy with coffee for breakfast!

Good, friendly owners. Hats off to Pam and John and the supporting staff, including Todd the bartender.

I stayed in room 7 which is right on route 12. The A/C unit they have in the room was solid. That is, it kept me cool but maybe more importantly it didn't rattle like mad like lots of places I've stayed at. It also muffled any outside noise.

The room was solid...basic cable and tv. Also had fridge and microwave. 2 double beds - mattresses were nice a firm if you like that and the pillows good. What I also liked is they actually had a few blankets...some places these days don't give you much to get warm.

There is a restaurant/bar connected to it that has a nice sized menu. By all accounts, the place is mobbed every night. I recommend the perch to anyone who comes up this way from there.

From that location you are almost dead center between Alex Bay and Clayton. Boat ramp is right down the road 1/4 mile.

Haven’t been here in over a decade and the only change has been in decor. Totally upgraded. The Mae West has only gotten better if that’s possible. Stuffed sole was buttery and cooked perfectly moist and frog legs were hopping off the plate delicious. Our sweet server was new to the job and was a delight.

Perch was delicious! Very good fries. Server was great, and that's saying something because we were a party of 10 including a 2 year old and a 5 year old. I was disappointed that my potato had mud on the outside, since I usually like to eat the skin too. I didn't take off any stars because I didn't tell anyone at the time! We will almost shortly be back.

Was pleasantly surprised! I'm not a fan of bar grill combos, but this place offers the best of both worlds with good separation so folks in the bar get that feel and folks in the restaurant get that experience. Rest rooms were small but clean. Service was friendly and everything was cooked to order and even the tarter sauce was homemade!

It was reasonably priced and I tried white fish for the first time and it was incredibly delicious! Their kids menu was large, even had a frog's leg portion for children. Desserts are homemade ... choc peanut butter pie was delish but soooooo rich and sweet, it's one to share. Wait staff were very friendly.

We were pleasantly surprised with the many meal options at reasonable prices. Our dinners were walleye and perch. Both were delicious. Service was also good so overall this place gets 5 stars.

Fried haddock was great, I thought the cottage cheese was different than normal restaurants but it was a really good touch. Fries were delicious but could have been a little warmer like the fish was. Other than that this place was great.

Been coming to the thousand islands for 40+ years, stayed at PJs motel many times but never ate at the restaurant. Never knew what I was missing. Had coconut shrimp (best I've ever had),my wife had beef tips (best she ever had). From the clam chowder and mozzarella sticks to the entrees, EVERYTHING WAS 5 STAR PLUS. Will be making the RIVER RAT CAFE a regular stop for every future trip. Can't say enough. FANTASTIC FOOD AND SERVICE. Thanks to everyone!!!

18 of us in family gathered and were well accomadated. Not huge place, but family focus. Traditional Fish and Perch meals, along with other options. Local wines available. Owner has been lifelong "river rat"

Order the Captain's fish fry with the peanut butter pie and you'll be in heaven. They've got a house made cocktail sauce that is killer as well.

Be sure to know that Friday is their busiest night so if you want a fast fish fry, try on Thursday or Saturday, or go Friday and enjoy a few cocktails while you wait!

I've never felt more at home at a motel before in my life! Pam the owner took my work crew and I right in as if we were close family, I've never experienced such an experience that reminds me of home before ever. Todd the bartender is hands down absolutely the bartender with the most witts on this side of the Ontario! No matter who you are he will have a joke that'll make ya laugh till your gut hurts. Kateland the server will recommend you exactly what you're looking for, for dinner. Ive spent almost a week here and on my next vacation I most certainly will be coming PJ's River Rat Cafe and Motel for the whole family, this place is my place.

I drove by this restaurant for over 20 years and never stopped in. Finally did and by far the best food I've had in 1000 Island region. Don't make my mistake, all these years I've been missing out on something great.
