Sawasdee | Thai Restaurant

This was a good find a friend told me about in Saint Elmo Chattanooga.
The hours are only in the evenings but worth the trip. They had gluten free Curry so I had yellow Curry with tofu. I also tried the white / brown rice both were good. The desserts with delicious too. I had the sticky mango rice and Thai rice cup. The Thai rice had hazzle nuts to give a crunchy taste. The sticky mango was fresh.
Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes
Would I come again? Yes
This place has limited seating and a hole in a wall but this places taste the best.

oup so good, we ordered it 3 times. Deepest apologies to the kitchen, because they make everything to order, from scratch. don’t be like me, just go ahead and order extra because you will eat it! Thank you for putting up with us, you all were wonderful and we really enjoyed dining in with you. 10/10

Small restaurant just at the foothills of Lookout Mountains.

They do prepare all items with No Onion and No Garlic on request.
Reminds of the authentic Bangkok food.

Tasty food and friendly service. Dumplings are hefty. Entrees were typical Thai fare, nicely seasoned. Some limited parking spaces in front, close to public parking across the street.

We discovered this little family owned jewel. As some have said, it’s not like every other Thai food flavor profile. That’s not a bad thing. The food is excellent to our foodie palettes. Stop by and enjoy. Low key. Friendly. Good food. What more could you want?

I ordered a Tom Yum noodle, and it taste good! People here are nice. But the light was a little bit dark.

Spring roll was so fresh and good and the Thai roll was excellent as well. The seafood curry was different from any Thai I’ve had but just as good.

If you guys like Thai food you have come to the right place. This place serves up home style noodles 🍜. Why go buy those little packages of noodles 🍜, shrimp, and chicken omg lol 😳 ? You guys know what I'm talking about 🤣. You guys place them in the microwave with a little water. You guys can get them freshly cooked from scratch delicious 😋. Got it ? The thing is this place prepares it just as quick. Believe me there is a difference 😄. I always appreciate it. It's down to earth, nothing fancy. It's clean, customer service is Professional, and Friendly at all times. It's restaurants like this, that has set Chattanooga aside from the country. We are a very Diverse City serving up different delicious 😋 foods. We are known as the Senic City 🏙🌆 We are Tops in the Nation for Number One Tourists Attractions. You guys are just getting started.... This Sawasdee Thai will jump start your visit. They are in the 💜 of tourism. There are other places serving up some really good food 😋also. The Chicken Yellow Curry, and Thai steamed vegetables will work. You ever had fried banana 🍌? Some like it hot. This is delicious 😋, and good for you. A lot of their foods are prepared in a healthy way. If you are into health, fitness 💪, they gotcha covered. Anything sea food will always work from scallops, shrimp, and Thai steamed veggies. These are my personal favorites, and can be yours as well 😍. You guys will leave satisfied, but not overwhelming full. You will need that extra energy for other things. Got it ? Ate here for the first time today: lunch. Both my girlfriend and I wiped it up. I can’t pronounce anything, but she had C-3 with tofu. I had C-4 with chicken. Both were very tasty. The facility isn t anything to write home about, but we didn’t care once we tasted our food. Probably should have taken the photo when the plate was full. FYI, they will be closed all of October 2019 as the cook will be traveling to Thailand.

We had a lovely dinner there made with real food...not frozen or low quality. The women running the restaurant were committed to making sure we enjoyed our dinner and were really helpful accommodating our food allergies. We will be back!

First time coming here (and leaving a review) and it was fantastic. My family liked their food, really tasty. I loved my iced Thai tea with cream and pad Thai with shrimp. The hostess was really kind and sweet, recommended great dessert, the mango with sticky rice, and best of all, giving me my takeout which I was about to leave behind.

I've lived all over the country in eight different states and this is hands down the best and most authentic Thai I have ever had. I always eat here multiple times when I visit because I miss it so much. It has remained unchanged since I lived here 20 years ago and everything is just as good as I remember. This is an absolute local gem!!!

If you love authentic Thai food, this is definitely the place to go! Everything I tried was absolutely wonderful and full of flavor. I was a little skeptical to come, considering how some of the reviews made it out to be, but I'm so glad that I came anyways! The bathroom could use a little more upkeep, but overall the food made it worth the trip!

Love all their foods. Pad Thai noodles with shrimp and Stied fried rice with shrimp are my favorite, I recommend everyone should try them. Be aware if you don’t eat spicy just order mild or not spicy. They do have level of spiciness from 1 to 4. Even level 1 could be spicy for some people. I usually go for mild.

I’ve been thinking about this food for a year since my husband and I tried it for the first time in our honeymoon. Leaving this review almost a year later because we just tried another Thai restaurant because I was craving the complex and wonderful flavors I experienced at this restaurant and was very disappointed. I would drive the 9 hours just to eat here again.

Took part of the family Saturday night, after driving by this restaurant for over 15 years. Man do I need to make up for lost time. So many options of well prepared Thai cuisine. The egg rolls are a favorite. Went back Tuesday night with the rest of the family, had different main dishes, great food!! More egg rolls of course. Small dining area, I really like the personal attention we received.

Love this place. Never busy when I go for lunch, which is very peaceful compared to the rest of St. Elmo. I've been here a few times and always get two pepper Pad Thai and an egg roll. It's always the same lady serving me when I go, and she's very courteous and the food is quick to come out. The Pad Thia never disappoints! Good proportion for the price too.

Just like you see in a lot of the other reviews, this is amazing Thai food with very fresh ingredients. My wife had pad Thai, I had pad see yew. Yes, I spelled that second dish wrong. Don't let the looks of this place turn you off, the food is incredible

Passed this place a million times and finally decided to give it a shot. Bottom line: it was worth it. We went for lunch and I was very impressed with the affordable prices. I'm happy to pay less and receive less unlike most Asian restaurants.

Make sure to ask for their dinner menu (more selection and they'll cook from it at lunch time)!

We went for lunch and loved what we ordered (three different dishes) and how it was presented. Nothing fancy and no fluff. Just good food like you stepped into their home for an authentic meal. Enjoy this place on a rainy afternoon and it will warm your belly and put a smile on your face!
