We recently changed over to FerralGas for our propane provider and have been very happy with their service. We have had them out to our property 5 times in the last year, first helping us get set up with a second tank and other times connecting our tanks together. Most recently I had a slow leak and they took care of it promptly. They have always been very professional and helpful. I really appreciate the good service.

This is our second year using this company. The Chattanooga office staff are always very friendly and product knowledgeable. The delivery service is very friendly and prompt and knowledgeable. After meeting with delivery the first time we did not feel the need to be present for future deliveries. The great pricing Helps a lot! Thanks!

I called Ferrellgas to report that I had no heat and requested that they come out and light my pilot light. When Robert arrived, at the exact time of the appointment, he went to the propane tank and turned the "on" valve. That's right, I had turned it off during the summer and forgot that I had done that. Robert was very nice and then told me that I had an electric starter. Robert was very understanding and did not make feel like a fool. Thank you, Robert.

Started as a customer a few years ago. There was a hiccup at first but they seem to have straightened out. Have not had a problem in a couple of years. Great price promotions and customer responsiveness.

The man that came out this summer to reset my tank was great. Since I rent my tank there was no charge.
Was disappointed there was no summer fill special this year. Just had it filled for the winter and the price had jumped dramatically. May have to look around for more competitive prices.

I’m a General Contractor and have recommended Ferrellgas to all customers that needed propane. Today I posted on Facebook apologizing to the many customers of mine that I have steered wrong.
You no longer can call them and get service. My calls were answered in states far away and yet Ferrellgas is less than 2 miles from my business. I ordered gas and 12 days later got a partial amount because the truck ran out… I ordered for my house the same day and paid them up front. 3 weeks later I have no gas at my home. Unacceptable. I own my own tank at my house so asked for a refund . As soon as I buy a tank for the restaurant I will be done. Don’t use Ferrell gas if you think you may run out.

Called on/about 9/15/2022 and was told I’d be contacted by text to setup an appointment for a range installation. Never heard anything until 9/26/2022. Since I didn’t get a prompt response, I had already found someone else to do it. The text that was sent didn’t offer a cancel option, so the tech called on 10/6/2022 saying he was 15 minutes away. I told him I was sorry, but I never confirmed the appointment via the text, so was not expecting him, nor did I need him. This texting system for appointments is not satisfactory.

I would have been a new customer at Ferrellgas, but their customer service was lacking from the beginning. I prefer companies who will take a few extra minutes to communicate with customers and try to find a solution, especially when providing residential utilities.

Interaction details:
I bought a house this month that runs cooking & heating off of propane.
1. On the 6th, I spoke to a Ferrellgas representative over the phone about getting a new tank set. She seemed very helpful and knowledgeable.
2. On the 13'th, I drove out to their Chattanooga location to set up my account and arrange a time to set the tank. The earliest time they had was the 17'th. I figured that was not too long to go without cooking; it is summer and we wouldn't need heating.
3. On the 17'th, they called and said they couldn't set the tank because it had rained that morning, and their truck would get stuck in the mud. (I live in a flat, residential area with no flooding problems.) I was told someone would call later that day to reschedule my set time.
4. On the 19'th, I had not been called back, so I contacted them. The woman apologized that no one called to inform me of when they chose to reschedule my appt - seven days after the initial set day, the next Monday (24'th). (I point out that, had we been setting this up in December, my family would be living in very bad conditions for over 10 days with no communication from Ferrellgas.)
5. I asked for a sooner time, she informed me that "the guy out setting tanks won't be doing that again until Monday, sorry." I reminded her that my family cannot cook without this utility, and asked if there was anything she could do. She said she would call around and find out if anyone could help me. She called me back several times to say there really was nothing sooner. I asked her what would happen with the 4 days of rain forecasted over this weekend, since a little rain this week caused these problems, and if my rescheduled appt on the 24'th would be rescheduled yet again - for another whole week later.
The woman sounded surprised when I asked this, as if my concern about having the appointment postponed for two weeks, and therefore not having propane at my house to cook with, was not really her problem. She said, "I'm just trying to save you and us money, because if our truck gets stuck in mud in your yard you will have to pay to have it pulled out."
I said, "I'm starting to feel like going with another propane company might be easier for my family," at which point she scrambled to say she would call her manager and find a solution.
With that idea, I called Holston Gases while I waited for her call back. They were immediately helpful, put me in direct contact with the man who sets tanks, and offered an interim solution in case their truck could not drive on my lawn due to rain. Holston made no mention of "that's after business hours" or "you'll have to pay to unstick our trucks" - just solutions.

In my experience, Ferrellgas only provides solutions outside the box when you threaten to go elsewhere.

Usually very good but this year their prices and so called fees were more than anyone else in the local market, I doubt I will use them again unless they make competitive changes

Ferrel let me run out of gas in January.
I ran out 23 days after the order was placed.
A senior citizen using their gas for heat and backup electricity for Oxygen was forced to buy portable propane tanks and pay double the price for heat. The service used to be outstanding, now there is no customer service!
