SO GOOD!! My husband was born & raised in Vietnam - this is the best Vietnamese food we’ve had since visiting Vietnam. The service is really great - they treated us to sparkling wine for our anniversary. 🥰 The menu is excellent and the ambiance makes for a great date night! GO & prepare to leave full & happy!

The food is really delicate with good variety on the menu. Food from the grill is really outstanding! We sit at the bar and we were having fun with Kimmy and Allen. They gave us special drink serve with numbing flower. It was really fun experience .

A modern and elegant twist on Vietnamese fare.

Taking over from the well-established Pho Linh, Le Madeline didn’t immediately strike me as an upscale Vietnamese restaurant. Its interior, barring the tables, bore more resemblance to a classic pho joint. Initially, hearing about its emphasis on modern Vietnamese cuisine, I envisioned a Vietnamese-French fusion akin to the styles seen at Nightshade Noodle Bar. However, Chef Peter Nguyen's approach to 'next-generation' Vietnamese cuisine was completely different: it was firmly rooted in traditional Vietnamese flavors, yet distinguished by the use of premium and non-traditional ingredients.

On our recent visit, we began with the Grilled Oysters and the Duck Breast Salad. Contrary to their name, the oysters arrived warm (rather than grilled), but their flavor was distinctly enhanced with a Vietnamese twist, thanks to peanuts and Kaffir lime vinaigrette. The salad was also great. The Mam Gung Dijonnaise sauce brought a creamy, gently sweet zing that nicely complemented the fatty duck breasts, and banana blossoms and crisps added interesting textures to the dish.

The Turmeric Coconut Cakes and Roasted Bronzino were also enjoyable. Both dishes were accompanied by a platter of fresh Vietnamese herbs. Uniquely, the turmeric cakes were recommended to be eaten like a lettuce wrap. Their exterior was satisfyingly crisp, while the inside remained fluffy. The intense heat inside slightly subdued the turmeric and coconut flavors, but these savory cakes paired well with lettuce and a dab of fish sauce. As for the Bronzino, it was flawlessly moist, its flavor enhanced by the tang of Green Onion Chimichurri and a pineapple-anchovy dipping sauce. Deboning process was a bit cumbersome, but the addition of steamed vermicelli and herbs transformed it into a dish akin to a classic vermicelli salad, which I occasionally enjoy.

The highlights of our evening were undeniably the two crowd favorites: the Fried Lobster Roll and the Cajun Crawfish Noodles. The lobster roll featured buns that were perfectly toasted to a buttery crispness. I had concerns about the combination of fried lobster with the toasted buns, thinking it might be too much of the same texture. However, the addition of tobiko brought a delightful brininess, and the tamarind sauce provided a balance of sweet and tangy flavors, which complemented the crispy elements. The most hyped dish at the restaurant, the Crawfish Noodles were also good. Maybe not as good as the hype, as I found the flavors subtler than I expected. Yet, toppings like the parmesan, salmon roe, and fried egg added depth and richness and enhanced the dish’s overall flavor profile.

Overall, Chef Nguyen's experimental Vietnamese cuisine at Le Madeline presents an elevated interpretation of traditional Vietnamese dishes, with incorporation of premium ingredients and sophisticated sauces and toppings. While authentic Vietnamese sauces and spices remain at the heart of each dish, Chef Nguyen infuses an inventive twist with unexpected elements like salmon roe and tobiko. Certainly a new breed of Vietnamese restaurant for the Greater Boston area, and one I highly recommend trying.

Lê Madeline in Quincy is a Vietnamese restaurant that deserves 5 stars, offering a dining experience that went above and beyond our expectations.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed into the beautifully decorated restaurant, where every detail exuded Vietnamese charm. With its small size, reservations are encouraged, but even sitting at the bar was fun!

Our bartender and server, Kimmy, was an absolute delight. Her sweet demeanor and genuine hospitality made our dining experience truly memorable. She engaged us in good conversation, sharing insights into the various dishes and history of the restaurant. Kimmy’s cocktails were amazing. The Second Wind, with its Vietnamese Espresso Martini twist and hint of banana flavor, was delicious. The Spicy Margarita and The Bonfire were equally good and flavorful.

We also indulged in a durian smoothie, made with REAL durian and surpassed any powdered version. For starters, the fried chicken wings were full of flavor and crispy. Our entrees, the Pho Dac Biet and Bun Bo Hue, were generously portioned and packed with meat, so good!

Our experience at Lê Madeline left us thoroughly impressed. With Kimmy’s exceptional service and the restaurant’s delicious offerings, we can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. Five stars without a doubt, Lê Madeline!

Stopped by for their Valentine's prix fixe special hoping for some good Vietnamese food and good drinks...never had much luck dining out on Vday.

But wow! We were blown away by the textures, presentation and the overall deliciousness that got pumped out of the kitchen in record time. With 2 young kids waiting for us at grandma's, the attentive and accommodating team got us in and out quickly without compromising on the shockingly delicious 5 course meal.

The cocktail I had, a smoky well-balanced mezcal delight (the Bonfire), just perfection. They even let me try the negroni with pandan cocktail but I just loved the mezcal cocktail so much!

My favorite dish was the amuse bouche, toasted brioche with pate and tobiko. The different textures and the flavor combos were heaven. My bouche was amused! My husband's favorite was the paste with XO sauce and crawfish, hearty and packed with great flavor.

The Viet coffee creme brulee was the cherry on top.

The dishes were elevated and somewhat unfamiliar, but the chef was able to capture the essence of what makes Vietnamese food delicious. Flavors, textures, seasonings and sauces. The sweet and the savory. Spicy, sour and refreshing.

This is the restaurant and chef to watch!

UPDATE - the signage is up and I can vouch that the food is still delicious…that filet mignon - don’t miss it…and one more - their Vietnamese coffee creme brulee is spectacular

Stumbled upon this spot completely by chance while browsing resy and could not be more thankful for that.

The place was not easy to locate at all, and after having gone around the block three times, we decided to park in a nearby public parking and walked up to where Google maps said the restaurant existed. That leap of faith worked out rather well in the end, because there is no signage of la madeleine and the pho Linh Restaurant’s sign is the more visible one. However, this time the fine print worked out well, and we saw la Madeline written on the door. Once inside and seated, the service was knowledgeable and patient. Our drinks turned out okay. The meal however, was spectacular. Every course had a different set of flavours and textures that blended beautifully together to create an unforgettable dining experience. It was a unique experience to have Vietnamese flavour, served in a tapas setting and that too with such imagination, definitely need to go back to relish all these unique plates. The turmeric coconut cakes with prawn are also amazingly good. I think I should stop with the superlatives soon.

Interestingly, they bought us the cheque before asking if we wanted any desert, but made up for that very quickly by getting us a very interesting mango, pancake layered cake that we ended up enjoying very much.

Food was a nice change from the typical Vietnamese restaurants in Quincy. The Bánh Khot coconut cakes with shrimp were very tasty. I also ordered the Branzino which was amazing. Menu listed that it would serve two people. It was definitely too small as a main for two. Food was reasonably priced, and everything was very fresh. Service was a bit slow. Appitizers were 30 minutes from time of order and branzino was 50 minutes. But it was a busy Saturday night and the food was worth the wait. Reservations on a weekend are a must. Will definitely repeat.

I walked into Le Madeline tonight thinking I was walking into a classic pho joint. To my surprise I was met with incredible ambiance and delightfully curated menu. Every thing we ate and drank felt so special. Did I mention the ambiance?! Visit simply for a view at their handcrafted chandelier shipped over from Vietnam. If you're looking for an elevated and unique dining experience with a fun vibe and delectable cocktail list this is your spot. Get the mezcal drink for a special surprise 🙂

Came for lunch and had a fried roll and Pho Ga. Was great. Definitely coming back to try the far more ambitious dinner menu.

The service and food were amazing. We had heard great things about this place and after dining here tonight, we couldn’t agree more. The drinks were excellent! The crawfish noodles, the prawn and squash, the mussels, the lobster roll, and the bone marrow and chicken liver pâté were all so delicious - we held on to the mussel plate so we could continue to sop up the broth long after the mussels were gone. We will be visiting again very soon!

The food was amazing but what made it better was our bartender I think her name was Kim or Cammie. But either way, she was very attentive to our needs and made the night amazing. Cheers!!!!

An exceptional prix fixe menu for Valentine's Day. One of the best meals I've had in the Boston area, hands down. I never tried this place before the name change, but I'm absolutely coming back.
