Saranac Lake Free Library

Very good public library. Unusual special collection of taxidermy on display in a basement showroom. Also a local history collection research room. Helpful and friendly staff. Other unusual opportunities include ukuleles for check-out, and a nice selection of Adirondack related books. Great local resource, definitely worth a visit.

I was able to use my mom's library card number and request books online. Staff was very friendly every time I went, and never had any issues. When I consistently used this library I lived within walking distance, and now that I live a little farther away I find myself not going there as often. Decent collection of books, but their interlibrary loan program is wonderful.

Nice quiet place to work or study. At least 6 computers provided. Free wireless internet if you have a laptop. Nice kids book room. Comfy chairs.

I love this place. I've been doing interlibrary loans through them for years, and they don't even yell at me when I am way overdue!

No soft back books to buy...losey attitude of front desk staff...if ya want books to buy go somewhere else
