Alex's Flamingo Groves & Gift Shop

This is the quintessential Florida gift shop. Big orange outside in the parking lot. Mini juice boxes emblazoned with photos of alligators, bleached sea shells, bikini clad piggy banks, and sun-baked postcards all under the ever-present fluorescent lights.

Delightfully liminal, this shop has any souvenir you need as you head to the airport to escape the humidity our state is known for. Get seashells by the handful, ogle at a placemat of historic hurricane routes, buy some cocktail themed playing cards, or grab a what is surely hand-painted lobster wall hanging.

There’s a parking lot up front, along with an ever-scowling wooden pirate to set the tone for your visit to this store of maritime taxidermy and kitsch.

The employee behind the register was incredibly friendly and happy to chat. Store is well-maintained and much more inviting than other beach shops you may find.

Florida is a weird state, and well-curated gift shops like these serve as an immersive experience of our most famous caricatures. Enjoy your visit, and don’t forget to get your seashell souvenirs.

I know, I know...it's not about these adorable birds, but they're really melodious. Anyway, I've lived here many years and have always passed "the big orange" but have never stopped in. Today, the traffic was too much and curiosity won. What a neat "Florida" place. Friendly staff offered me a sample of freshly squeezed OJ and we had a pleasant conversation. I meandered up and down the aisles thinking about gift ideas...of which there are many from giant shells and coral in the thousands of dollars to tiny treasures that you can scoop up. There are also yummy food items like jams. Swing on by and enjoy a break from FL traffic!

Stopped by to get a few gifts for family and friends back home. The owner (I think?) was very friendly and so helpful!

They have a large selection of shells, all very beautiful, different size options, and all reasonably priced!

They also have corals and other small souvenir items available as well. The pet finches and cockatiels were so cute too. It's not right on the beach, so you might think it's inconvenient to go to, but definitely worth checking out.

Hubby and I were looking for sea shells, and this place did not disappoint! The variety of shells as well as amazing coral specimens was awesome.

The day manager was very friendly and hospitable. If you want shells, post cards and honey, and you don't want to fight the beach traffic, THIS is your store. It's very close to I-95, with easy access.

Ordered oranges for a Christmas present. They were mailed in good condition and my sister said the package was nice and delicious. Staff extremely nice. Store is beautiful with lots to pick from. Reminds me of a place my Oma used to take me as a kid. Shells galore!

One of the best shell shops for seuveniers or gifts. Perfect shells for hermit crabs. Tons of parking and great customer service. Amazing! 10/10

Walked in looking for a few shells (since my parents love that sort of thing) and couldn't have been happier! I even met the owner while I was looking around and he was super nice and helpful. If you stop in, definitely try the juice. I noticed it just before leaving and thought, why not? That stuff was amazing. I'm definitely stopping in again on my next trip!

Cute shop with a vast array of souvenirs. They had big, beautiful pieces of coral...and the biggest orange in the parking lot.

Cute little gift shop not the traditional souvenirs but had a few things that were neat and different than I had seen at others and lots of local made treats to take home. I was able to load up on a few small things for about 6 or 7 people on my list and walk out spending less than 100 bucks. The cashier was a cute latino girl who was very personable

Great little family owned gift shop close to the airport where you can get some awesome souvenirs before you leave. Stopped their to pick some stuff up for my 3 daughters and wife and was not disappointed by he variety of items they had.

Nice little souvenir shop with a very friendly staff. They have a nice collection of shells and other sea artifacts along with a wide range that of fridge magnets, shot glasses and coffee mugs

What an awesome place to shop. If for no other reason stop here to get to fresh squeezed to orange juice it is awesome. I purchased some items for my new place Incredible coral pieces for sale as well

Lots of interesting shells. Found lots of unique little gifts. Very good orange juice to sample and buy. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. A must stop when you are in the area. Will go again!!!

Has everything, and more, of what I have been searching for that I couldn't find elsewhere. Large collections and amazing variety of unique, authentic Floridian souvenirs and gifts. Staff super friendly. This place is "Nice" - and great prices! I recommend this place whether you're looking for something special for those back home, or to build your own collection.

It was a great experience, Paola was very attentive and helped us get everything we needed. Saved a ton of money from the airport souvenirs, and a much greater variety at a very reasonable price. Their Orange juice is out this world delicious.

New to Florida (6 months). Fantastic shells, people, and the orange juice is amazing!

Did I mention the OJ? The lady running the store was super nice and we traded travel stories for a while.
