BrassTown Bald Mountain is the Highest peak in Georgia. My Father, my Woman and myself decided to hike to the top. No other way up but to walk. The Weather outside was 72 degrees. The trail was at the 11:00- 5:00 angle. Only two places to sit and catch your breath. Once on Top at the Mountain Theaters, the Weather was 58 degrees with a Gusty wind.
Beautiful view of mountains ranging from Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
There are bathrooms near the parking area and on top of the mountain too.
This is a Must see if you are into Mountains and Wild life.
It took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there from Ellijah GA.

The views from this mountain were absolutely beautiful. Make sure you go to the tower. You can hike along the trail or you can take the shuttle.

Tough trail for families to go to Brasstown Bald top from the parking lot. It's just about 0.5 miles or so, but will take a while. At nights, there are absolutely no lights, so get flashlights if you want to go to the viewpoint for star gazing or just to see the beautiful views of Helen, Atlanta and many other towns cities around.

We hiked this trail from Jack’s gap to Brasstown Bald. Beautiful trail and as expected uphill. This is a hard hike due to elevation gain, 2200+ feet in 3 miles. The day we hike it was misty fog/cloud so the views from Brasstown Bald were limited.

It's 9 miles round-trip from the Brasstown Bald parking lot. The first 2.2 miles are mostly downhill but save your your strength for the next 2.3 miles after crossing the bypass entrance road that will test your fitness with steep uphill climbs. Meeting up with the AT at the turnaround point is rewarding and there's water available if you need it and have the energy to descend to the creek. I climbed the paved 0.6 trail to Brasstown Bald peak before taking on the Jack's Knob Trail which was a good decision as I has no gas left in the tank 😅 at the end of the day! Great hike and highly recommended!

They have a shuttle to the top of Brasston Bald but if you want a good workout you can hike a half mile up to the observation area.

Unfortunately the shuttle was closed when we got to the top of beasstown bald parkinglot. We still got to briefly enjoy this view which somewhat made up for the inconvenience. I had a newborn with me or else I would have just hiked the .6 miles to the top.

🥺 took 1st time guest to visit the top of the mountain. It was closed. No notice, not even at the entrance or parking lot. Been here before when open, and enjoyed the amazing view. Our guests were too old to attempt trial-up to Brasstown Bald overlook

WE WERE ATTACKED!!! And by attacked I mean frightened. By a small little bird whose nest was on the ground in a corner of a rock formation I wanted a closer picture of. Scared me to death when it flew away (pic of the bird in nest on our way back has been posted). There was also some weird noises. I thought it was humans being jerks but my friend thinks it was foxes. It might have been. Otherwise the trail was nice. We didn't go far because it was about thirty minutes to sunset. But what we did see of it was nice. The part we hiked was covered by a canopy, so the sun wasn't barring down on us and the path wad well worn and gave the feel of a natural trail instead of a man made one. I'm definitely going to go back.

Being here in the winter was a first for me. The weather was clear with a bit of snow and ice on the trail. This made a moderate trail a bit more hard.

I hiked to the top of Wolfpen Ridge. The trailhead is at the opposite end of the parking lot from the Brasstown Bald trail head. It is little over a mile round trip to the top and back. There is no view from the top, but the trail itself is beautiful.
