This is my fourth pain management practice in my lifetime, the third in the San Antonio area. This office is highly superior in absolutely every way than my previous ones. The office staff is friendly and professional, the "back room" staff is the same ! Dr Lai is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and executes his treatment plans with precision. They are cautious, yes speedy ! I hope I eventually do not have to continue seeing Dr Lai, BUT that's only because I hope to heal to the point where his services are not needed ! If ever there was a need for more pain management practices, if they duplicate Dr Lai's business model, they will be on the way to being a great practice, like Dr. Lai's office is !

Dr. Lai has a new NP. Her name is Chrissy. She is WONDERFUL!!!!!! Professionals have lost the art of bedside manner. I felt I have known her all my life. She took her time and actually acted like she had all day for me. So personal, personable, just plain fun. She hugged me when I left.
When you are there it is because you are in pain. Imagine an office visit so fun you forget why you’re there. Absolutely amazing.

Dr Lai & his staff are awesome! Since my first encounter with Team Lai, it has been nothing but positive. Even the nice person who held my feet and gave words of comfort & encouragement while I was going through a procedure, was above & beyond, just showed me again,
how super Dr Lai and his team are!!!

Dr. Lai is a consumate professional and an awesome physician. He has assembled a very professional medical staff as well as an excellent administrative staff. Unlike other practices I've come into contact with, his team is cordial, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I consider myself lucky to have found such a great practice so close to my home.

Dr Lai and staff are amazing. I had the intracept procedure and everything went well. Initially I was not approved by the insurance . Dr Lai had a peer to peer with the insurance Drs and my procedure was finally approved.
I have to say that the day after the surgery my pain was zero. I was sore but no nerve pain! I haven't had a need to take any meds either. Dr Lai is very knowledgeable and spends time listen and answering any questions!!

Always a good experience, staff is informative, patient and courteous. I am finally getting real help with my mobility issues and pain. Second trial procedure, no anesthetic, no pain. Update: Final procedure today, also without the local anesthesia, no problems. There is discomfort but nothing serious. I am resting at home with some minor local back pain, but nothing a nap won’t cure. I am happy I made the decision for this therapy, I was in constant pain and am much relieved.

Ninety days following procedure still have much-expanded mobility neck, shoulders, back. Almost zero pain.

Great experience. Everyone one there treats you with respect, professionalism, and friendliness. The doctor walks you through the procedures keeping you informed of his every action and what you will feel. You can't ask for more than that. He is friendly and will answer all your questions. Fantastic doctor!

This was my initial visit for sciatic pain. Dr. Lai & his team examined me, listened to my history were very professional and knowledgeable. No imaging. We will see if his prescribed treatment plan works. Only one nonsteroidal anti inflammatory med was prescribed in addition to follow-up with my chiropractor & continue to do piriformis muscle & lower body stretching & exercises.

Everyone there was great very patient orientated especially the doctor. He’s awesome caring and has a great sense of humor. He also explains to you in detail what is wrong what he can do for how long and what the long-term impact may be all in all a great place I would recommend it to anyone that I love.

Christy (the PA) meet work is today and thoroughly explained what likely was causing our pain. She have us many thicker to consider and was listening to us... Helping is too consider all our options. She was a delight to talk with and she spent over an hour work is. Highly recommend.

Everything +everyone is wonderful as usual. I couldn't ask for a more caring 💕 Dr and staff. It's so nice not to be rushed through an appointment as is the case in most Dr's offices. They take their time with you +make sure you don't have any questions. It's a caring environment and I'm so glad to have them as my new pain management doctor. Dr. Tristan Lai is the best. Dr. Lai and staff are amazing!! He is very compassionate and listens to his patients needs and concerns. My only regret is not coming sooner to see him.

Dr. Lai performed cervical spine steroid injection today and it went very well. He did a great job with numbing, and made sure I was comfortable. Front staff and nurses/assistants are friendly and efficient.

Dr. Lai, Pain Management and staff are awesome. They are friendly, explain what they will be doing. Than they ask you if your ok and moving forward or if you have questions. Very nice place.

Met with Monica Cantu, Nurse Practitioner. Session was informative, options for pain management were discussed. I will continue with physical therapy and return to Dr Lai if my neck pain worsens. I appreciate the conservative approach used by the Pain and Wellness Institute.

Dr. Lai is very experienced and knows his field of medicine, well. He asked me if I had a Myelogram, or an MRI to diagnose my condition? I told him both but only have MRI's now. Then I told him about an incidental finding from the Myelogram and he knew exactly what it was because he asked an appropriate question. By far, the majority of doctors are not familiar with either of my rare conditions. I was so impressed with his knowledge. And what a kind and compassionate man he is to be around. His staff is great and he is awesome. So thankful to have him close to us, but he would be worth driving to even if he did not have his practice close, and traveling for me can be challenging. He is amazing. An excellent doctor. Kind and so knowledgeable. It is difficult to find doctors of hos magnitude of expertise. We are thankful for him.

I have seen Monica, Dr. Lai's PA several times, and she is delightful and knowledgeable, also. Great staff all the way around. Highly recommend. I have been to my share of Pain Management doctor and I can safely say, Dr. Lai is the best. Worth traveling to see.
