Walter's Red Wing Shoes

I was driving through Arkansas 10 years ago, this guy saved my feet.... his socks are amazing!!!! Been a buyer since, he ships them to me in Wisconsin.

I am a fan of red wing boots and on a return trip home from a road job in North Dakota, I stopped by to check out Walters store and get his opinion on some red wing boots I had purchased up north. He was very helpful and a super nice guy. He took time to measure my feet, check out my boots and was very knowledgeable about everything boot related and gave me great advise. I had also read reviews on his magic wool socks and decided I would try a pair. I didn’t think much of it, because I have many other wool socks, but the socks I bought from Mr. Walter were different. They were super comfortable, (cozy as my wife says) they kept my feet from feeling sweaty all day working in the hot Louisiana sun, and felt dry at the end of the day. They cushioned my feet like no other sock I have ever worn. When I take my boots off now, i leave my socks on because they feel so nice, even after being stuffed into my 877’s all day. I now feel like every other wool sock I ever put on was a Chinese made counterfeit piggybacking off the name of the socks he sells. They instantly became my favorite pair of socks and I had my wife wash them over and over for the last couple of weeks so I could keep wearing them. Anyway, I couldn’t keep that up so I called and asked for 5 more pairs and Mr Walter took my payment over the phone and three days later I got my socks in the mail! It’s not that far from Arkansas to Louisiana, but he obviously shipped them right away and I couldn’t be happier with my socks or Mr Walter’s service. Thank you Mr Walter for all your help. Having comfortable feet at the end of a 12 hour shift for such an awesome price truly means a lot to this old pipefitter. I look forward to my next trip up the country and will make sure to stop by for some more socks and maybe even another pair of boots!!!

Awesome service. Other Redwing dealers sold the boots, but did not have the parts to repair the BOA system. It took 2 weeks to go through the "process" for a new parts. Walter had them in stock, gave me the tools to replace the cable. I am buying my next pair from Walter's. A+++ Service. Highly recommended. He does accept most work boot vouchers also.

Walter knows his stuff! It's hard to find knowledgable service anymore. The first pair he brought me were perfect. I didn't think wool socks were good for summer but turns out they are cooler, drier, and way more comfortable. I won't were cotton again. If you want great service, great prices, and a great fitting boot go talk to Walter!

This is what every shoe store should strive to be. I didn't buy a boot but I will definitely be back to buy a pair in the future. I dare you to try his wool socks. The shop owner was extremely knowledgeable. He gave me a lot of really good advice on taking care of my shoes and feet. All products in his shop were of very high quality and fairly priced. The way in which this store conducts business makes me feel good about spending my money their.

I have never seen a man who has the level of passion for his craft as Walter. If you have any issues with your feet and work on your those hard working feet go see him. He will make sure you get the right boot for the job. He truly cares about his customers. Many times he will have to order what you need because he doesn't sacrifice fit. Nothing is worse than I'll fitting shoes. And red wing boots are worth every penny. Don't let the price sway you.

Walter helped me learn what to properly aim for in finding a correct fit for my feet rather then what I usually thought felt right and later on wasn't. He was kind, steady in talking to me about boots and the points to look at, did a measurement of my feet to see what boot sizes would work for my feet and showed me just how nice a pair of his wool socks feel while wearing a nice pair of boots. He was an enjoyable chatting partner who helps one find what they're looking for and will enjoy later on when you leave his store. Some reviews talk about his magic socks, I say talk about magic walter himself who does such a great job helping you.

I was born with a birth deformity in my foot and have spent $700 this year buying boots for work. After spending a minimum of 30min on 2 separate occasions addressing my foot issues, Walter ordered me the correct boots that suited my needs and provided one of the highest levels of customer service I have ever seen. I hope these boots are the last pair I buy this year, though I certainly wouldn't mind having to spend more money with Walter.

Walter is fantastic. He measured my feet and asked me questions about each shoe until we found one I liked. He is a nice man that loves selling boots and shoes. You will not be disappointed. I will not shop anywhere else. Oh, and buy his socks.

Absolutely the only place to buy Red Wings! He is a real shoe guy, knows how to fit you and solve your issues. Years ago I had bought several pairs of cowboy boots and none of them fit, blisters, sore toes, etc. Went to him for the first time and he sold me a pair that fit perfectly, been wearing them for 10 years. Went yesterday for something that I could wear on concrete so my legs would not wear out by the end of the day. He fit me in a 6 inch boot that is amazing, no more sore legs. If you are going to pay the cost for Red Wings, you need to go to a person who know how to fit you. Awesome shoes, awesome guy!!

Most amazing boot shopping experience ever. When you walk in the door you are talking to the owner. He took the time to make sure I had the proper fit and went above and beyond to make sure I was pleased. I will definitely be returning in the future for all of my footwear needs.

Walter has been in the business of Red Wing shoes for longer than most people have been alive, including myself- and I'm 39. He KNOWS his stuff! His store has been my sole (pun intended) source for boots since 2007. If you need tough, comfortable, top-quality American made footwear for the working American, Walter's is THE place to go.

My Red Wing lace ups are the only shoes I own, and have owned since 2007. They are on my feet 15-16 hours a day on average, and soldier on through mud, dust, rain, snow, and ice. They are regularly exposed to oil and grease, diesel and gasoline, molten metal from welding and plasma/torch cutting, and showered with grinding sparks. They hold up like no boot on earth. Average life on my boots is 1.5- 2 years, I've had some last longer depending on the severity of the duty.

You can't put a price on quality- and I can guarantee you will leave Walters shoes happy and with peace of mind knowing you helped to keep Mom and Pop on the map, as well as provided bread on the table of your fellow American.

You not only get the best product out there that money can buy, you get a man with decades of knowledge and first hand know how. He is an expert with the comfort and safety of your feet. You always see the same smiling face greeting you, and the same one-on-one interaction that you can only get with an old school proprietor of a small American store.

If you think a top quality boot is expensive, you've never had a foot injury or corrective surgery caused by inferior foreign made shoes the chain stores sell you.

Take Walters advice on his wool blend socks, also! Your feet will stay warm and dry! There isn't another sock out there that breathes and insulates like wool. Also American made, of course.

Walter's will be the only place I buy footwear until I'm either stuck in a wheelchair, or he retires. Either way, I'm a diehard customer who will only go to one place, Walter's shoes!
