Star Friends Community Center

This Community Center Barn just has something magical about it.

There are a few things that might deter people from using this place, but they are easily remedied.
1. There is not a bathroom. There is a gas station down the road. OR you can rent a porta potty which is what we did. The great thing about the porta potty was it was CLEAN since it was just delivered.
2. If you use the space when it is cold, there is not heat. We did bring space heaters and then rented a couple of bigger heaters at Tate's Rents. It was 40 degrees outside and it was still cold, but we survived.
3. Power. There is power, however the breakers blow constantly even with little plugged in. I'm not sure why. We just brought some gas generators, put them outside, and ran extension cords. We didn't have any issues using the generators and the power for the building.
4. There are lights outside on the top of the barn. But, there are none down lower. We hung a shop light outside so people could see to get to the porta potty.

Now, let's move on. We spoke with Julie, who set us up with the rental. She is the most kind person I think we have ever dealt with. She made the reservation flawless. She communicated all along the way through the process.

The barn itself has giant doors all the way around that open up. If you were having an event in the summer or fall this would be AMAZING! There is a stage as well.
We had a little sport event and as people came in we heard the "oooo's and ahhhh's" "This is so cool!" Many people kept telling us (even though it was a little cold) how perfect the venue was.
All I know is the word "magical" was used over and over!

The community barn is an awesome place to go for events! Make sure to bring heaters in the winter though. It's cold!

Secret jewel in Star. Dont judge a book by its cover cause it is beautiful inside. Love the rustic country feel.
