Blue Hen Dispose-All

I arranged for Blue Hen a few years ago for my grandmother's house and every interaction I had with anyone in the office was helpful and pleasant. If there was an issue with a missed pickup it was resolved quickly. I recently had to cancel service as the house is being sold, but would like to send my appreciation to the office staff since they have always been extremely efficient and helpful and I don't get the negative reviews.

Last week I wrote review about the trash truck running through my front yard and running over my marker posts. Afterwards, Blue Hen claimed that the tire treads were not that of a trash truck. So reviewed the video footage from a second camera located on my property, in that view I could clearly see I was mistaken and the trash truck did not run over my posts and through the grass. I then found the correct video with a delivery very clearly being the culprit. We have used Blue Hen since we bought the house in 2018, and we have never had any previous issues with them. They do a good job, and I am sorry for the mistake I made with the bad angle from the first footage I watched. I could see in that video that the posts had already been run over before the trash truck arrived.

The good thing is this, although the mistake was on my end. Blue Hen responded immediately and sent someone to the property the same day. Their investigation was clearly thorough even though I wasn't home to show them anything. They found exactly what had happened and responded to me right away. They did a great job and although I feel badly for the error, I now feel great about them. I will continue to use them and recommend them to anyone looking for a trash service. Thanks guys and my apologies, obviously I deleted the review that was incorrect and unfair.

I have decided to change my review to a more positive review because of a great samaritan who is a manager at Blue Hen. I did not record his name but he knows who he is, he got in touch with me and made all effort to help with my situation, trash and recycle both got picked up. That gesture was deeply and dearly appreciated. Thank you Mr. Manager, your kinds are rare!!

I'm so sad seeing all of these unhappy reviews because we've had nothing but amazing service with them for over a year! Our last trash company more than doubled the price in less than a year so despite some of the reviews I decided to give Blue Hen a go. We have had zero issues, our trash is always picked up and our bins go right back where they were. We've also been late getting our cans out a few times and I'm positive that they've taken the time to stop on their way back up the road when they totally don't have to. At least on Kent Island we've had nothing but 5 star service!!!

I have been using blue hen for five years now. Really like them. Had a lid that broke off a can and they came and replaced the next day. Only thing…I wish you could pay bill online…my mail service has been extremely unreliable since covid and when a payment got lost in the mail, my service was immediately discontinued…started right up again when I realized what happened. They have always put my trash cans right back in the same place.

Always reliable and dependable. Service is great and price is fair. Professional driving on the roads in my neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Great service this morning before we could get dressed to get our trash can out of the ditch from last nights high wind the pickup driver got out of the truck and pulled the can out and dumped it Thank You sir that’s great service !

We have been using Blue Hen for over four years now. Only recently had a small issue where they did not pick up our trash on the date of pick up. Our original driver, who is sweet and honks his horn for my son everytime he sees him, was out for that week. The other driver missed us. I only called to see if everything was okay. The lady receptionist was very helpful and thoughtful. She figured out the issue and immediately called me back and even offered to send someone out the next day to pick up our full can! Overall, awesome service. Would highly recommend. 😊

We’ve been using Blue Hen for over a year and have been very happy with them. They’ve missed us once and fixed it right away. This morning, I thought they may have missed us when it was 11:00 and they still hadn’t been by, I called and spoke with Linda(I believe) and she was very friendly and explained that the driver had already been by which I was surprised to hear as we took our cans out about 45 min before the typical pickup time. She said the drivers route had changed and they got to us pretty early and recommended we start putting them out the night before (which we do sometimes). She said she would send the driver back by and they made it to us around 4:00. Appreciative of the service and the friendliness of who I spoke with twice on the phone today. Others have issues with different companies locally and have made the switch to Blue Hen. Glad to have them from the start. Thank you!

I've been with them for 16 years, they have always been great. The lid ripped off of my trashcan last week. I spoke with the company today and they were very professional, and have someone coming next week to replace the lid.

I have been here since 1998 and Blue Hen trash removal will get my vote for the best ever ❤

This company is wonderful and extremely accommodating...going on 4 years with them. Best price for consistent service. I'm not really sure why they have such a low rating because anytime I've called its 5 star phone service and we have never had any issues with pickup. I HAVE SEEN THEM PICK UP ITEMS THAT FELL OUT ONTO THE ROAD WHILE DUMPING!!! I think the individual routes or employees should be addressed that are not providing excellent service not them as a whole because we've had nothing but exceptional service - we're located in Gumboro.

I see the folks complaining and wonder what the thought pattern is for them to come out and do so. I have used this company for 3 years and they have bent over backwards every single time I MADE A MISTAKE. Let's be honest, they drive around and pick up your trash and they ensure it is done! The times I missed them or I changed my credit card information they did everything they could to help my family and I out. Sure, they could do more. Walk my cans to and from my house, Was out my cans, or even clean my windows on my car but that costs money and if you want to pay more, simply request those services! I am sure, if you are wanting to pay for them, they would do it! They pick up our trash, they leave nothing behind and if I have ANY issue they are helpful. What else could you ask for?

Awesome company, the drivers I have met so far are all happy and nice. I left a couple of small wood pallets and one small wooden crate next to my trash cans this weekend. Not expecting for that trash to go with my trash cans, but they got out of the truck and took the items as well. Extremely fair pricing and service.

I have been with Blue Hen for 2 years now and have NEVER had ANY issues. If my trash wasn't picked up it was because I needed to pay my bill. Not even close to their fault considering I get the bill every 3 months AND a text message. They also send a text message if the day of pick up is going to change due to a holiday, so maybe your mail carrier or cell provider, assuming you have one, is the issue and not Blue Hen. Truck noise isn't an issue. The only time I hear them is if i'm in the garage with the doors up . and I live in a frickin rancher. If I lived in a neighborhood that had an HOA I would expect my windows and insulation to keep the noise out, so unless you live in a trailer or a tent, I'M CALLING BS on the noise. In closing my defense for the best trash collection company I have EVER had, PAY YOUR BILL, PUT YOUR TRASH OUT ON TIME (the correct type of trash), UPDATE YOUR HOUSE, TRAILER OR TENT AND QUIT SLEEPING YOUR LIFE AWAY AND YOU WILL HAVE A 5 STAR TRASH COMPANY. Thank You Blue Hen for 2 years and 2 months of EXCELLENT service.

I just want to say that Blue Hen is a terrific company. Our business Puppy Palace Daycare forgot to put out our trash out Monday night as they come first thing in the morning for pick up. We put the can out in hopes that maybe they were running late today but we missed them. Around 11:00 today the truck pulled in our lot, turned around and picked up the trash. We are so impressed with this company and would recommend them to everyone!

After dealing with the nightmare of Waste Management for 1 year we made the wise choice to switch to Blue Hen. Their service has been excellent, their people friendly and my trash is always picked up on time. I no longer have to worry if my trash will be picked up by the time I get home and I no longer have to spend every other trash day reporting missed pickups. Not only do I get better service but i'm paying less too! It pays to support local.

Our trash service guy, Roman, is the best! He has gone above and beyond for us twice in the last month. Always on time and great service!

My Dad has been using Blue Hen for years. Always happy with service and the front end phone answerers are the best. Cheerful and nice. He's now in assisted living and they were helpful about getting the bins returned to them. No hidden upcharges like Republic threw in.

Great trash company, the drivers are extremely proffesional, helpful, and friendly. We get a honk or two if we forget the trash, he even takes the 90 year old widows can in for her after pickup. Great service, DO NOT USE WASTE MANAGEMENT, they are terrible, say they offer secures they dont, driver skiped my can 3 weeks in a row, CHOOSE BLUE HEN AND NEVER WORRY AGAIN.
