They took great care of our Maple when she was poked by a piece of fence and had to get stitches. They even let us watch the treatment and explained everything they were doing. Everyone there was compassionate and caring and I’ll highly recommend VEG Newton for animal urgent-care.

WOW we cannot believe the incredible care we received at VEG very very late on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. The nurse and doctor were outstanding in every way: kind, energized, thoughtful and open. The took such care with our cat and communicated clearly every step of the way. The price is a lot but feels worth it to support such a great group of people. We are so grateful!

Amazingly wonderful care for my puppy with a sock swallowed! Ended up needing surgery and I was even allowed in the OR! Great follow up, professional and empathetic! From reception to DVM! Great practice!

I highly recommend veterinary emergency group in Newton. The staff is efficient and extremely kind and helpful with any questions I had. The facility was very clean and organized. I felt safe having my puppy Evie in their care. Evie got looked after by Dr. weeder, she explained everything about the check up process clearly. Very compassionate staff!

Better than most human ERs :) Truly I’d likely to extend a heartfelt compliment to every single staff member. Wow. My dog got a good cut on her paw pad on. Sunday morning and she was welcomed, checked out, sedated, stitched up, and back home in her bed in less than 90 minutes!

From the moment we walked up, someone came and opened both doors for my dog and I. I got to stay with my dog the entire time. The staff is friendly, comforting and VERY good at what they do. We’ve been to VEG before so I already knew it was amazing, yet the kindness, speed and gentle handing of a nervous dog with a bloody paw was really incredible. Dr. Epstein and Kayla, are amazing people. Thank you all very very much for the exceptional care!

Not cheap but, man, are they worth it!

I would like to compliment the care that Dr. Bishop and Jasmine provided to my dog. I was super nervous to bring my dog in but I can truly say that they exceeded my expectations in every area. I could tell they were genuinely concerned about him. I appreciate how they took the time to go over all the medications prescribed to make sure I was truly comfortable before I left. If my dog ever has another emergency I know where to bring him.

My cat got a nasty bite on his face and we rushed him here since we saw good reviews and the reviews don’t lie. The vets were all super nice and got the job done. My cat fought tooth and nail even with all the drugs and they all did a good job trying to calm him down and make sure he was getting the care he needed. Pricy yes but well worth it for nice staff and you can watch the whole time if you want . They have snacks and beverages for you and treats for pets. Very clean and was impressed and happy. Thank you to the staff for being kind to my grumpy cat.

VEG was by far the best veterinary experience that I have ever had. Everyone was incredibly responsive, communicative, and transparent. They acted quickly to save my cat's life, getting him on a table and with an ultrasound within three minutes of walking in the door. I was allowed to stay for his treatment, and they explained everything that they were going to do so I could fully understand the treatment and process that he was going through.

I truly felt like the staff cared about the well-being of both Nova AND myself. They constantly checked in and asked how I was doing, and they allowed me to visit and stay with Nova multiple times during his recovery. I was sent multiple updates daily, and was constantly encouraged to call if I had any questions. Not once did I ever doubt that Nova was receiving the best care and attention that he possibly could have.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend that families experiencing a pet emergency use VEG Newton. The staff are truly compassionate, knowledgable, and skilled.

Our dog Penny went to VEG Newton with a bleeding mass on her spleen. After talking it over, we went ahead with a splenectomy. From the first moment we arrived to when she was discharged, we had the BEST experience with the staff there! Everyone was very professional and caring. A special shout out to Ed and Dr Epstein - who were simply wonderful from start to finish. We were very lucky to have the best outcome possible as her mass turned out to be benign! Thank you VEG Newton for the superior care you gave our special girl.

Amazing experience at VEG. I was so impressed with how timely and thorough the care was. Our vet Emily Boches was so knowledgeable and kind. Everyone on staff was so warm and sweet and made my dog feel the love. I thought he’d get whisked away from me but they really made sure to offer that I stay with him whenever possible. I hope I never have to be back :) but if we have another emergency we will definitely be back at VEG

My cat was having symptoms of a UTI. I started off at the Shrewsbury location, and after 90 mins they let me know (kindly, with a snack) that they were at capacity but their Newton location would be able to take us in. So, although I live in CT, my cat and I drove another hour at midnight to basically Boston. It was worth it. The care was superb. They not only helped me get a nap in. They took care of her and they were willing to take into consideration the total cost of the night. I am greatly appreciative and would return if we needed to. I'd give ten stars if I could.

Visited for the first time late last night with my senior cat. We were being transferred from VEG Shrewsbury so he could be admitted for overnight care. When we arrived they were already expecting us and ready to get us started! Dr. Nunes reviewed our case up to that point to verify all the details, explained her treatment plan and estimate, and answered all of our questions thoroughly. She also informed us who would be taking over care for my cat and when, as the hospital is 24-hours and staff changes shifts in the early morning. I emphasize this because I appreciate their transparency and knowing the name and face of the person who will be taking care of my pet in my absence. All of the staff were wonderful. Thank you Dr. Nunes, Maddie, and team!

Fabulous care for my dog who had a flea infestation. I tried two vets before VEG. Our regular vet couldn’t help us because they were understaffed. The second place just said no. The staff at VEG was incredibly caring and competent. They did their utmost to make my dog and his caretaker feel comfortable. We are so grateful.

The team is OUTSTANDING!! He had to go in 2022 for an emergency (our lab swallowed a ball) and the team was able to take the ball through an endoscopy which avoided a very invasive stomach surgery! I couldn’t be more thankful for this amazing heros!

VEG Pet Emergency Care Newton MA, was great. The VEG staff was experienced, caring, committed, thoughtful and very professional. The Hospital was very clean and well organized.
The veterinarian, nurses and staff implemented minor surgery without any problems. VEG Pet Emergency Hospital allows the pet owners to be with their pet throughout the process minimizing stress to the pet and their owners.

If you have to go to an emergency vet, this is where you want to go. You get to stay with your dog the entire time which is so amazing, everyone is beyond friendly and knowledgeable. You are brought in right away and seen by a vet within minutes. They explain everything to you and recommend the best course of action not just try to upsell you. The facility is really clean and comfortable, they have coffee and a bevi as well as snacks for humans and dogs. I always call first if something is going on with my dog that I’m unsure of how to handle. They transfer you right away to one of the doctors which is amazing and they give honest feedback on whether or not they think you need to come in. Multiple times they’ve told me you don’t need to come in unless you want to. Then when they tell me yes we suggest you come in, I really trust them and go. I’m just so grateful for VEG!

The Drs and Staff at Veg Vet took care of my 2 year old Westie. She was sick and in pain. They explained every detail Of what they were doing for Poppi! They assured me she would be better when I took her home. I confirm that she is feeling Much better. Thank you Veg Vet❤

I brought my pup here after he ingested gum containing xylitol and my local ER had a 6 hour wait. I was scared and in an unfamiliar place, and everyone here put me at ease. They were quick, efficient, knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. I was provided updates and encouraged to stay with my pup for as long as I wanted. This was the best possible experience in a terrible situation. I hope to never need this service again, but if we do we’re coming directly to VEG! I’m so grateful to all of you for saving my Augie!

Needed urgent care today for my Labrador due to a yellow jacket sting. My veterinarian recommended I go to VEG for treatment. Was taken right away and evaluated and treated and observed. The entire staff were so great attending my dog and me! Facility is modern and equipped with high tech equipment. Had a very good first urgent visit to VEG and would recommend for your pets.

Last night, Dr. Nunez and the team at VEG saved my pup. Even at midnight the staff is beyond kind. From opening the door for us, to getting a doctor to see us immediately, to walking us through the entire process and answering all of our questions. The care, effort, and dedication was absolutely incredible. The entire team was there to assist with the operation - emotionally and physically. They took care of me (who was an absolute mess) the same way they took care of my dog. Thanks to them we brought my old man home last night in time to celebrate his birthday next week. I am eternally grateful for the work that you all do and for your compassion. He is back to his old self today and doing so well!
The premises is very clean and well equipped. They have complimentary refreshments and snacks available in case you had to stay there for a while like us. Thank you again and highly recommend.
