Great Bear Golf Club

Went yesterday and today! (Oct 10,11, 2023) Beautiful course on a beautiful day(s) Really well maintained, the fairways had no leaves on them, as the have blown most of the leaves into the rough. The greens could use a little more TLC, but overall they rolled true. Even though the greens weren't perfect, I still am giving the experience 5 stars. It's been a wet summer and the bunkers were the best I've played in all year - playable, but not perfect. The staff (Vince and Kenny) treated us like VIPs. If you're within an hour of the course, it's worth the drive.

Have been playing here for 3 consecutive years a couple times a week. We make the drive from Jersey - about 40 minutes. Worth the drive! Course is the best I’ve ever seen it (the recent rain was a big help). Kudos to the staff and grounds crew. Like playing a private course. Just wish some of the players respect the beautiful conditions here. When we play we always try and repair a ball mark or two and fill in a divot or two even if they’re not ours. Please respect the great conditions here. There’s no excuse!

Great place to golf. Fairways, greens, tees were great. Greens were fast and challenging. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. A little pricey, but i dont have a problem paying it when the course and the people working there are great. Ill go again. If you havent played here, go. Its an experience golfers of any level will enjoy

Great course. Beautiful and well maintained. Staff on site was very friendly. Challenging course but not impossibly difficult for a mid range handicap.

Awesome golf course with spectacular variety of golf holes. Great Jack Nicklaus design with small undulating greens and wide fairways.

For November golf it was in great shape.

This course is a little pricey but when. You get there you'll see why... it won't disappoint... even if you chunk your way around..haha

Played here on a Friday afternoon. Course was in great condition! Had a really fun time and extremely kind staff members. Would definitely recommend!

This course features a fantastic design: easy enough for the casual golfer yet challenging from the back tees. Wide fairways, but be careful in your approach shots to the well protected greens.
Outstanding maintenance and large greens that contain hidden breaks but run true.
A well stocked pro shop, a decent restaurant and a knowledgeable and friendly pro staff make this a must for any golfer visiting the Poconos.

I played here a few weeks ago and the staff were the nicest of any golf course I’ve played at before. Definitely recommend playing here as the course was a fun challenge and in good condition.

Great Bear's Country club is a convenient easy-to-find beautiful banquet hall that I had the pleasure of styling and organizing 2 events there. The place is super affordable and I can not wait to plan and coordinate more events here.

Really nice course. Played on a Wednesday and not only got a very reasonable senior rate of $39, but it was pretty empty. It's so nice when you are out on the course and it's really quiet except for the knuckleheads in your group. Fairways and greens in great shape. Covid rules reasonable too. Will definitely go back.

This is a great golf course. Long, winding holes loaded with scenic moments. But lots of side hill lies, which I find more than challenging. Tee boxes and greens are in excellent shape. The fairways can be narrow, and seem far tighter if your shot is less than straight. Seems like you travel for miles on the course, but it is worth every moment _ and every bit of the cost.

Great Bear is an upscale semi-private club in the southern Poconos. The routing takes full advantage of the property, weaving through forests. The course is very playable with only 1 forced carry over water. We played a week and a half after Ida dumped 5+ inches of rain and you would never had guess that happened. The staff very welcoming accommodating and helpful. On a Labor Day early afternoon we got in a little under 4 hours.

Greens were perfect. Fairways were verdant and leaf free.

Great golf course under new manager and improving even more. the course was in great shape when I played there.

I've played a lot of courses all over and this course is very well maintained. I played it twice this year and I really like it. So glad I live close by in the LV. Keep up the good work on the course guys. See you soon Great Bear!!
