I can't say enough good things about the guitar lessons at Sloan School Of Music. The instructors are incredible - they have a gift for breaking down techniques in a way beginners like me can understand. The studio's warm, welcoming atmosphere makes lessons fly by. If you're looking to learn guitar, Sloan School of Music is absolutely the place to go!

My twelve year old has been taking voice lessons here for several months and from the very first lesson she felt at home and supported. The staff at Urbana Sloan School of Music is helpful, knowledgeable and really caring. This school is an excellent value for top quality lessons.

Paul and Lauren are always so much help when I come in. As a beginner guitar player I don’t know much but I’m learning as I go and these 2 always make everything such an easy process while explaining what they’re doing to help me learn as well. 100/10 store and people

I have been taking piano lessons from Gulnara McCook for five months now and I could not be more pleased with my progress! She has an amazing ability to teach and help me improve, taking my playing to a whole new level. Her style of teaching is very patient and organized, which makes it easy to understand the technical aspects of learning piano as well as developing my own personal style. Ms. McCook also provides great resources like practice pieces and exercises, as well as helpful tips for creating interesting melodies. All her guidance has been instrumental in helping me reach my goals and develop into a more and more proficient pianist.

The staff at Sloan School of Music Urbana is knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help in any way possible. Best lessons around and best service around!

Locally owned, amazing facility!

If you’re looking for a personable music store or school where staff have a passion for music and passing along that knowledge; this place is for you. Late last February I decided to purchase my first bass. I was nervous and most music stores that you go into can be very intimidating and staff often seem to be bothered by novice questions. As soon as I walked into this store, I noticed the difference immediately, everyone was genuinely nice and informative. They weren’t bothered by any of my questions and were very patient with me. They stayed with me and plugged in a few different basses into an amp while I was making my decision. I fell in love with a gorgeous bass and I’ve been taking classes there ever since. Fast forward to end of May and there has never been a day where I didn’t feel welcomed. Thank you Diego and fellow awesome staff!!!

My bass teacher, Steph, is also incredible and patient with me. Steph understands that life comes up where sometimes I am in mental zombie mode from juggling so much in life. He pivots to shake things up and never makes me feel bad. He’s a brilliant teacher who lights up whenever talking about how proud he is of his students (kiddos and adults). Steph is also a phenomenal bass and guitar player who plays in a band that goes on tour from time to time. Sharing this information so you know you’re getting a seasoned teacher with years of experience who is a true master in his craft.
