GOOGLE DIRECTIONS WARNING! This was very hard to get to but well worth the trek. Google takes you to a closed road that has been inaccessible for 15 years. We had to ask a local how to get there and then once he got us on the right path, we had to stop another car for further directions as we could no longer get service. Keep left at the turn offs, follow 63 down to the left after the trail head. Read other people’s directions because I’m unclear on how we finally made it there. But it was well worth the trek! Stunning views, secluded campsites, hiking trails along the river directly from the campgrounds. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking to get lost in nature.

The campground at Troublesome Creek is an absolute gem. Located about two hours from any significant population base, accessible off of a (mostly) dirt forest service road, you’ll marvel at the serenity of this idyllic campground. There are two sides to this campground, an east and a west loop. My spot was on the east loop, space 15 and I’d definitely recommend the spaces on the east loop, as they give you ample privacy with equally ample access to the creek and the North Fork of the Skykomish River. No power hookups means you can set the devices aside and worry little about what’s happening in the city. Out here, the entertainment is happening in nature. Views of surrounding peaks, the rush of the water as it flows past and as night falls, the dotting of stars in the inky black sky will give you exactly what you need before heading back to civilization. Nature truly is the best. I’ll be back to this campground again, no doubt.

Awesome place!! Tons of huckleberries and the sites are far enough apart that you can't hear your neighbors. Lots of trails and old roads to explore nearby. Index-Galena road is washed out, so if you're coming from the west, keep going to Beckler River road and follow it about 15 miles.

Beautiful campground off the beaten path. This is as remote as you can get and still be car camping/glamping, and it's not that far from Seattle proper!
The river right on the campground provides a beautiful white noise, you can't hear other sites around you and don't really have to worry about making too much noise yourself. Beautiful small hikes nearby, lots of beautiful hidden places by the river on the rocks. Go visit the washed out road while you're here, it's only a couple miles down the road and is breathtaking. To see nature overtake roads and barriers is really an awe inspiring site

Great place to take the family to for camping or day trip. As of this post you will need to take the route following Beckler River across Jacks Pass.

*Beware the road from Index remains closed as of August 2020.*
This campground situated along the rushing Troublesome Creek was an excellent location for a small family camping trip. Our group of 6 enjoyed the remote (read: no cell service,) location. Many aggressive mosquitos and other bugs, prepare accordingly. Campsites on the east loop are more secluded and spaced out, whereas the west loop enjoys creek-side tent pads.

Beautiful campground in the Cascades. Camp host Ryan does a marvelous job in maintaining the site.

Wow. Amazing spot, well maintained sites and super clean bathrooms. The Host was so informative about the area from trails to fishing and local secret sand history. I can tell Ryan loved his job.
A big bonus was no service of cell /internet. Total peace.

Always a great place to disconnect and get off the grid and enjoy being out in nature.

Nice campground! Quiet location. You need reservations for any weekend throughout the summer. Getting there is a long drive due to washout of Index-Galena road. The detour is thru the Beckler river road over Jack Pass.

If you want to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere; lost in the wilderness, never to be found again if anything happens to you, look no further. Located 20 miles off of highway 2 on mostly gravel forest roads, this site is truly off the beaten path. I recommend studying the weather and perhaps calling the nearby ranger station before planning a trip. The weather is often wet and miserable, but the surrounding beauty is hard to beat.

Great place to camp. It's 12 miles off the main road and it's not paved for most of it but good if you want to stay away from the crowds. Shouldnt be telling anybody cause rather keep it quit. Nice spot though but a little heads up the online map does not do a good job on showing which spots are actually on the river and a majority of them are not.

This is a beautiful riverside campground in the middle of nowwhere. It is joyful to camp out if you want to be away from city life for a few nights but pay attention to these before heading to this campground:
1. Google maps will show you the Index rd but it is closed and you must go to Skykomish and turn to Beckler rd
2. There is NO MOBILE SIGNALS in this area. Make sure to do your necessary calls before turning to Beckler rd in Skykomish
3. There is No electricity and tap water in the bathrooms. So make sure you take a water container and soup to your personal use (it is important now days in the covid season)
4. About 8 miles of the road is not asphalted in the middle from Skykomish to the campground.
Enjoy your 🏕

Been coming here since my 2 sons were babies; now they're 24 and 26. Love the rocks, the huckleberries if you can catch the season, the walk up the creek. Thought we'd lost it forever after the road from Index washed out, but we make the trek now that we know the back (dusty, long) road. It's our favorite retreat. UPDATE 2017: Another year, another road closure. Campsites closed for 2nd year in a row. Made our way back there once this May before they made the closure official. Huge changes because of high waters. 2 more campsites destroyed. Fingers crossed we'll get there next season.

If you like it simple and close to nature, this one is for you.

Very quiet and beautiful camp area. Echoing others- the roads in aren't the best, but in the summer my little car had no problem w them.
All the sites were far apart - I couldn't see neighboring camp sites from mine.

We didn't stay here, just drove up to check it out. Looks like a great place. However, Maps incorrectly takes you through Index, and there's a washed out bridge that you can't get around. You have to go to Skykomish and take Beckler Road / FS65, and left at Jack's Pass.

Great tent sites. Bring your own water.
