Mel's Hard Luck Diner

We loved this place. They serve fresh fish. The singing servers are great singers. A must visit place if you love music and food.

COOL PLACE!. We came here 12 years ago, and it has just gotten better. The singing servers are awesome. The food is good. They have a desert that we wanted to try, but our party was definitely not big enough. Check out the Avalanche. If you're in town, you have to make this a must stop for a meal.

What a fun place for a family! We had to wait for a bit for a table but it was worth it! Fun atmosphere where the servers take turns singing cover songs while you dine. The service was top notch! The family style ice cream dish was more than enough for our family of 6. Highly recommend!

Food is a little pricey for what you get but it was of good quality and I enjoyed it. The staff is all very nice and I love that they have warnings outside multiple times for people to be aware it is loud because trust me, it is loud. I had some off brand loops I wore and it was still loud, but that's not saying it's not fun. The songs were fun and they celebrated lots of special occasions and took time for those people to appreciate them. The place was decorated and very colorful with a cute shop with a place for a photo. I would definitely recommend this as a fun place to go but for those who are noise sensitive, bring a pair of earplugs like loops so you can block out some sound but still experience the environment.

I LOVED every single thing about Mel's! The Vibe, Decor, Service, food, how clean the bathrooms were AND the especially the singing the staff does while we were there. I cant wait to go back! Such Nostalgia! I recommend this place 100%

I always look for small local places during my travels. Some small restaurant owned by mom and pop or hole in the wall. This time we discovered this absolute gem in Silver Dollar City. Foodies, you must visit Mel’s Hard Luck Diner. It’s a cute little place with live singing. The waiters and waitresses sing and they do it between taking your orders. It’s not a place to have a serious conversation but to sit back, relax and enjoy. Even our daughter (3 years old) had a great time 🙂

The portion sizes are good and so delicious 😋 it’s a small local place and worth going.

I had a chicken steak dinner with mashed potatoes, bread, gravy and sweet corn.
My husband had a Philly cheese steak sandwich and our daughter had her favorite hot dog 🌭 with fries 🍟

We shared the dessert and it was so huge that it took every inch of our belly and will power to finish it 🙂

Loved this place. Foods good but not like oh wow. The desserts are awesome!! The atmosphere is so inviting. It’s unique and one of a kind. Singing waiters and waitresses was so much fun! We have been here 3 times while on vacation and it’s always one of our favorite stops. It’s always busy too but if you have to wait it’s not typically long and it’s worth the wait regardless. You won’t be disappointed!

Very friendly staff. Our waiter was fantastic. The staff all take turns singing while you eat. They have all kinds of memorabilia on the walls. Food came out fast and was very good. My wife and I had the patty, and our son had the chicken sandwich. The dessert was even better. We had the lava cake, carrot cake, and the 2 scoop sundae. Very family friendly. Would highly recommend.

Such a neat place to stop. It was a little expensive but you are also paying for the experience to have the wait staff sing. They have beautiful voices! The food was really good and we were able to get seated pretty quickly. They do have a text system so you can walk around while you are waiting. The ice cream portion sizes are HUGE!

This is another place we missed the last time we were in Branson. We had the burger and the cheesesteak. Both are very good. We then shared a "one scoop" sundae, which come out HUGE! Each of the servers take their turn singing for you as well, and all of the ones we heard were fantastic singers! It is decorated like a 50s-style dinner. We would definitely return for both the food and the entertainment!

We stopped in here for dinner and discovered the waitresses and waiters take turns singing songs. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated.
The food was good; we had onion rings as an appetizer which was very good.
I got the Philly cheesesteak while the wife ordered the catfish. It was all prompt and was delicious.
Then we got dessert….

This place will never disappoint. The thick, juicy, beautifully cook burger, golden and beautifully crisped fries, the music, the staff, the desserts and the big screen. Makes me wish I were alive back then but yes, they are their own burger attraction in Branson!!!

The menu is posted in pictures 👍. Nestled in a shopping center if you're not looking for it you will drive right by it. All the glamour of The Boardwalk draws your eyes away from their small sign along 76. I'm so glad we found this place. It's a fun place to eat and be entertained! I had an amazing time! The food was delicious 😋 and our waitress sang beautifully. The atmosphere is not a quiet one but a beautiful one. The staff are singing and letting you know they enjoy you being there. The Reuben was perfect and the Veggie Burger was an excellent Vegan choice. The fries are crispy and served hot. The place is clean and wiped down. I highly recommend you try it out but most of all enjoy the singing and request a special song. Who knows they may sing it for you!

went for my 51st birthday did their super ice cream sunday how can you go wrong the deserts are out of this would and the people are very friendly, family said all the normal food was very good but i went for the ice cream

I came here at lunchtime, they were busy, but we were still seated in a timely manner. All staff members were so nice and I LOVED the old fashioned decor and feel.

The wait staff were all very talented singers. And our food was absolutely fantastic. It didn’t take super long to get and portion sizes were well worth the cost.

The milkshakes seem pricy but they are so good, and there’s plenty of it.

Visiting a local restaurant while in Branson is a must and there are a lot of great ones to choose from. Mel's Hard Luck is one of those restaurants. Great diner atmosphere where the waiters and waitresses sing for your entertainment. And they are good singers. The food came out very fast and was amazing. It tasted so good, very hot, and the salad was phenomenal. It is located in a great shopping area with high end shops right on the main strip. Be sure to check out gift shop on the way out. I highly suggest you eat here during your stay in Branson.

What a great place to have dinner! Our server Kaitlyn B was fantastic and can sing! The 50's style diner has a staff that sings songs as they wait on you! The atmosphere is very fun and lively, we would definitely go here again. Our food was fast and great tasting.

Loved this place! Great food and great service. Probably the best value for our money. We had a party of 9. Everyone enjoyed their food and atmosphere. All music was good, but especially liked that our server sang “Come to the Table”.

This was such a wonderful experience! It is much much more than just a typical Diner they do singing performances, and all that had sung last night did wonderful! We had a blast! I will definitely revisit this location when we return to Branson! I highly recommend it, don't waste your time anywhere else because this one was perfect! The food was really good, the prices were average, and the desserts looked really good! Plenty of options to eat at this restaurant!!

Super cool, local diner feel with great food and desserts and your waiters sing! Fun experience as well as good food. And we didn't eat all of the desserts that I have pictures of... I was near the dessert counter and managed to take pictures of several of them just before they were served.
