Had the worst luck. Had to move my business after a fire. Locked keys in the truck 20 minutes in, storage space wasn't ready, Unloaded the 26' myself...unbelievable. But the people at 1116 Mass ave. gave me all the time and compassion that I needed without a hassle. Turned out to be a great day(s), lol. Thanks!

Wow I’m reading the reviews and totally agree. The truck I eventually got was appallingly gross. I took a wipe to the steering wheel and the wipe turned black. Full pieces of food on the ground, everything was sticky??? Such an awful experience

Wish I could give 0 stars. My girlfriend booked a truck 2 weeks in advance, even got 2 confirmation emails the day before we were supposed to pick up the truck. We drive there at 8am and my girlfriend goes to talk to someone about grabbing the truck and apparently there wasn't any truck for us. He told us to just go to uhaul down the street. He was very rude to my girlfriend, and then a week later we got charged $75 for a no show!! My girlfriend called customer service and got a full refund but wanted to call this store in particular to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone ever again, she called and the guy we spoke to was so rude and kept interrupting her and started raising his voice. This place is terrible and I hope they close down or fire all their terrible staff!

Definitely a 0 Review!!! DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL PLACE! I made a reservation 2 days ahead of time for a Cargo Van, pickup time 8am for the purpose of moving my son from Boston to Chicago, IL. I received two voice messages from Tom Brown on the day prior. One at 11:52am and one at 1:49pm. The first message was asking if I still needed the van, the second message asked if I needed the van, and he also stated he did NOT in fact have a van at his location. WHAT IS THE POINT OF A RESERVATION???? (Deja vu Seinfeld episode) I did not receive the messages until 6pm. I called immediately and left a message that I did indeed need the van and to call ASAP when he got in the next morning, which they opened at 7:30am. I called at 7:30am the day I needed the van and the man who answered stated Tom does not even get in until 9am!! I was supposed to pick the van up at 8am, per my reservation. I finally spoke to Tom at about 9am and he stated he did NOT have a cargo van, that many people make multiple reservations at various rental companies so he calls the day prior to ensure customers still need the reservation that was booked with him. I was livid and told him that I indeed needed the van as I am moving someone to IL. He inquired WHEN I needed the van, as if it was not ON my reservation, to which I told him NOW! He stated he would need to call around to try to locate one, asked would I be willing to drive to another town about 30 minutes away, which I indicated I would, but then he stated I may have to drive to his locale to complete the paperwork. I was in Waltham, MA, which is about 30 minutes from his location, so I refused to do that. In the interim of the 20-ish minutes of Tom locating a Cargo van, I was able to read all the horrible reviews of his business and decided to rent from U-Haul. I do NOT understand how this man can still have a Budget Business Account! He did not even apologize when I told him that I no longer needed the van. If Corporate doesn’t revoke his Business License, then Shame on them!

Wish I could give 0 stars. I booked a truck weeks in advance, showed up 5 mins early to my pick-up time, and no truck. Short story: the truck never showed up, likely was never planned to show up, and was never told that there was zero inventory. You can see from other reviews that this is not an isolated incident. Worst moving experience ever.

--Detail--
"John" was there, and told me there was no truck. He mentioned I was 2nd in line behind another (seemingly fictitious) individual that needed the same kind of truck, and that I could call "Tim" in an hour after his lunch break. I called "Tim" right then, and the number was for an onsite phone at the gas station. "John" proactively steered me to U-Haul and Penske competitors in the area. My wife and I both called Budget's central office, and staff told me I would be hearing back from the dispatcher within 2 hours as they tried to find a truck. 3+ hours later, the dispatcher called and told me there was no truck and they'd continue looking. I never heard back from Budget, and when I called to make sure I was not charged for the rental that didn't happen, they said to watch out for a potential "no show" fee of $75!

A Budget central office phone customer manager mentioned that they could send me a check of $50 for the stress and hassle--thanks. Incredibly, the customer manager defended this affiliate office, and said that "in the fine print Budget does not guarantee equipment availability." So, while this issue may be location specific (given other reviews), it may actually be system-wide, meaning Budget's core business (having equipment ready and available for people to pay to use) has major issues. This phone call solidified my resolve to never book with Budget.

Btw, U-haul on the phone was way more impressive with tech (data usage) help and a can-do attitude that solved the issue in under an hour.

FYI: This "Budget" location is a Mobil gas station that does side-business as Budget (the truck parking lot is somewhere else).

Had multiple bad interactions with the owner. Part of it is on Budget promising trucks they clearly cannot fulfill but part of that is on management of this location, when you are the boss the buck stops with you, I am very careful about what I promise my customers (as a mover) because I have learned over time who to trust and who to not trust. We have had nothing but bad experiences with this location.

I had to wait for 30 minutes for my truck while i've arrived exactly on time and there were no one before me in line. Gentleman just kept dealing with other stuff ignoring me. I put 9 miles on the truck and when i was filling the tank it turns out to be 5.5 gallons. When i asked to do something about that gentleman who was taking the truck from me started yelling "calm down" multiple times while i didn't even raise my tone, just asked. Stay away.

Wow. Wish I would’ve read the reviews before booking. Took the bus here in 18 degree weather to pick up a truck. The poor kid working there didn’t have the truck or an explanation. Tried calling the “manager”(?) and no answer.

rented a truck 2 weeks prior to pick up and then the day of no truck. No one wanted to take responsibility! The short version is Do not rent a truck here and do not rent from Budget.
