Kai Island Grill

My new fave restaurant in Avon! Hawaiian seasoned chicken, steak, shrimp and more. We had volcano fries with steak and chicken on rice. Great flavors and friendly staff. And for about $10/ person. Highly recommended!!!! (Poke too but we didn't get that)

The environment, the people and service, and the food were all excellent! It had an excellent vibe, and the service was amazing. There’s just something nicer about someone remembering your name when you come into a restaurant. The food is a totally different taste. Highly recommend the volcano fries. I have no clue what is in it, but it makes your tongue just keep coming back for more. Highly recommend. Dine-in or take out. You won’t regret it!

Two words. Delicious food. The katsu chicken is the perfect dish, a regular favorite so good, its hard to try anything else. Made with a fresh salad and sushi rice, this is a go-to for friends when they are visiting in town and want a great bite to eat. The staff is friendly and the manager is solid, too. Service is quick and the poke or chicken is a go-to. I highly recommend calling ahead but I think you can order online, too. Perfect for dinner or a quick healthy lunch.

This place was awesome! The volcano chicken and volcano fries were one one the tastiest meals we have had in a long time! Highly recommend. We will certainly be back again while we are in town. We had a little bit of a hard time finding it based on google maps, but we called the restaurant and they were able to easily explain it.

Service was very kind and the food was delicious; had to get another tuna poke bowl to go for dinner. While the space is somewhat limited, the atmosphere was welcoming. I'll be coming by the next time I'm in Avon!

Amazing value and amazing food. We both loved the katsu chicken but the kalua pig was some of the most tender-and spicy- I've ever had.

Wow! Had a delicious fresh dinner tonight and are already planning to grab some takeout to go with our leftovers for tomorrow. Generous portions and ready by fast. The owner is awesome and welcoming. Stop in- you won’t be sorry. PS- Spam Musubi makes a perfect pocket meal to take on the hill!

Love this family run restaurant. We eat it every time we come to town. Either avon, Gypsum or Junction.

Great place they have real Ahi Tuna Steaks served fresh with veggies and rice. Definitely worth the wait and the food is amazing.

Place is great. The food was amazing and for the price I will definitely be going back a lot. It was so freaking delicious! Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location too.

Same price or cheaper than nearby Burger King or subway with way better food. Clean kitchen with surf inspired art on the wall. I had the kalua pig with cabbage it took my back to my great uncle’s Hawaiian cooking which I enjoyed as a kid.

We enjoyed the food (I had the Hawaiian poke and macaroni salad) but you have to be patient. There appears to be a dire staff shortage. A now hiring sign was prominently posted and at 5:30 there were only two people working while business was steady and getting busier. As a result the wait times were long and food came out piecemeal as soon as it was ready. We could tell the two employees working were feeling a bit overwhelmed as customers that could not wait longer requested refunds on all or part of their orders. Even so, the people working were polite and really seemed to be doing their best with the situation. So I definitely recommend this place but suggest planning ahead and giving it a try when you are not in a hurry. For four people it took us ~75 minutes to order our food, receive our order (in two waves), eat, and head out. So being surprised with that is not fun but it is manageable if you know what to expect.

Love love this place.. people are awesome and anything you order is always fresh and fabulous. My go to is Poke Bowl with a salad with their delicious ranch dressing. Great portions for the price...easily could be two meals if you could make yourself stop eating it all!

Rarely am I ever shocked, but this food was lights out the most pleasant surprise. The Katsu chicken, the Kalua pork, and the teriyaki beef with volcano fries.

Holy cow! Try this place, you will not regret it. We went back for carry out a second night and canceled other plans.

Easily the best food in avon and i've tried just about everything. Pazzos is fire but If you want chicken fish anything like that fries volcano sauce go to Kais.

Hali Hali chicken bowl was the perfect lunch. I wish I had a quick service Hawaiian fusion place by me. Will be coming back!

Update Review! Things are still delicious and I think upgraded now. Great portion sizes and flavors are still awesome. I think better quality now too. For a while they seemed like they might close since we couldnt seem to find when they were open for about a year.
