Librarium

I've been driving by that oh-so-tempting brown sign for over a decade, and finally -FINALLY- I left early enough to give myself time to stop in instead of hurrying past.

Totally worthwhile. Fantastic selection, smells great, is just a beautiful stop. I highly recommend it.

Conveniently located at the top of the Taconic and definitely worth a visit. Staff is very friendly and offered us a nice food suggestion when we chatted with her for a bit.
Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to go through the barn too but the main house had a good selection of used books and the prices were quite reasonable. I actually mentioned that she should raise her prices =P
We left with a nice book to be given as a gift. Next time we'll stop and check out the barn!

While I would dearly love to visit the brick-and-mortar version of Librarium (it looks utterly delightful in the photos), I have enjoyed the great good pleasure of dealing with these lovely folks in the course of ordering a couple of "antique" cookbooks. Not only did they facilitate my order by helping me with my selection, providing descriptions and suggestions, Sharon and Jennifer made my visit so up-close-and-personal that I look forward to taking a nice, post-covid-times drive and saying hello in person. And the books I ordered? Superb quality, exactly as advertised (probably better than!). received in record good time in absolutely the best packaging/wrapping of any items ever. I purchased these to be gifts, and I cannot wait to see how excited the recipients will be upon opening their gifts to find these, truly, one-of-a-kind treasures. Wonderful experience, top-notch in every possible way! Antique/vintage books will henceforth be my go-to gift with Librarium at the top of my list of shops!to visit!

Wonderful shop. Really good selection of books, lots of little rooms to explore. The staff was a joy to talk with. She was very knowledgeable and friendly!
