The Marathon is off Hwy 52 just inside Stokes County.Its ok but doesnt have a lot of selection.What keeps it in business is its prime location.Easy access to and from.Fuel prices are a bit high but somewhat competitive.Pilot Mountain has a traffic circle at the exit which is dangerous and the King exit is a big mess.You have two choices at the pinnacle exit....

I always patronize the places on my trips. But upon seeing an old piece of the gray cardboard of the back of a writing pad on the front door indicating "Sorry: No Public Restrooms At This time"....
I think I saw this in years past.
Should've remembered.
I'll never stop here again!
Marathon should remove their signs!

The establishment is outdated and dirty. The bathroom is frequently out of service. You"d be better off going to the bathroom in the woods!

No toilet paper, hand soap or paper towels in bathroom! Dirty floor, toilets and sink. Lady cashier said "I can't do it all" . We offered to replace toilet paper and she said "no". Lol okay, we tried to help!

Disgusting bathrooms with no hand soap, overflowing toilets, and tiny stalls. One single bathroom for both genders to use.
