Did a wonderful job tracking down an elusive electrical issue on my 2008 suburban. He didn’t give up until he found the problem. He kept me informed throughout the process. He was also very fair on his prices. Will definitely be going back for any other mechanic needs.

He’s honest, a great mechanic and a nice guy. I thought he quoted me double the cost and when I went to pick up my vehicle he told me the right price. Honestly I would have been happy paying what I thought it was. I’ll never go to another mechanic

Absolutely amazing and so very helpful. We were on vacation and the van got stuck in reverse. After being stranded and finally walking to an auto parts store, they called around and got us in contact with Tim. He got us in and was so helpful and fixed us right up! We are so thankful for the help and the service!

Had issue with rusted out emergency brake. On vacation. Tim was recommended so I called and he squeezed me in right away. Problem solved and no more worries on our trip! Great experience.

I have never left a review for anything but have to share my experience with Usimaki Auto. I was traveling through when I started having car problems. Tim was extremely friendly and helpful and got me back on my way quickly. As a traveler I expected to get gouged on price but the fee was shockingly low, much less than I would have paid back home. Tim has excellent people skills (unlike my garage back home) and did a fantastic job explaining what was wrong. It was an unexpectedly pleasant experience. I wish Tim would move his shop to my town.

Similar experience to previous reviewer, except my wife and I breakdown driving through late Saturday afternoon after hours (not sure if they actually are open on Saturday). Went through the list of auto services on Google and Tim is, fortunately for us, the only one to pick up the call. He drives 20 miles to enable us to get our car to his shop in L’Anse and then proceeds to figure out how to fit our repair into his busy schedule on Monday so as not to totally screw up our planned vacation in the Keweenaw. We have a relative pick us up and get us to Hancock for the night. Then comes the big surprise call from Tim on Sunday morning telling me the repair has been made and we can pickup the car! Just wish Usimaki Auto Repair was closer to where we live in Chicago! He’d be getting all our auto service and repair business! PS-I don’t ever do reviews but couldn’t let this go untold! Thanks again Tim!

Good service, but could be a waiting list

I brought my car to his garage on January 20th, it is now February 3rd and he still didn't give me an estimate on how much it would be. I finally called and he told me to come get it and bring it somewhere else. I just now got my car (not fixed) and it barely would start from being barried under snow for 3 weeks!! I will NEVER return or recommend this place. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
