I can’t even begin to explain how amazing the products are. It is abundantly clear the people that bake the goods infuse them with love, and their good karmic deeds go into every detail. It was healing to my soul to eat their unique offerings. Thank you to the owners who understand the spirituality of their work. Anyone that is interested, please don’t pass up this gem of a bakery on the island. And please support local! ❤

Barn Owl has been a staple in our family for many years. The quality is consistently excellent. I have celiac and I really appreciate the gluten free options. We LOVE the gluten free scones. My husband says they’re the best scones he’s ever had - gluten free or not, so I have to fight him for them! Our daughter loves the apricot millet bread. Only problem is that it never lasts because she and my husband eat it so fast. Well done, Barn Owl! ♥

If you focus on one thing on the island, focus on grabbing some of Barn Owl Bakeries bread and butter. Their fresh pear and blueberry scone was also divine and the pesto twist!? One of the best pastries we've ever had in our life. I wish I had bought 10! Can't wait to prioritize this location every time we visit the island ❤

I'll keep this brief in hopes of avoiding hyperbolic ranting: in all my sweet tooth travels globally, Barn Owl Bakery cookies are in the top 5 memorable! I wasn't a fan of their breads (more of a "me" problem since I don't eat bread, nothing against BOB), but the cookies were so "turn the car around NOW" mindblowing indescribably good (and healthy) that we'd risk missing the ferry back mainland.

Gorgeous barn bakery right off the road. Bread was hot as promised around Thursday around 3:30. Can pay with Venmo or cash, but be sure you have service. Delicious, chewy sourdough loaf! They have other types as well and mini loaves.

A loaf from Barn Owl and cheese from Sunnyfield Farms sets you up nicely for the day. The mint cookies are dangerously good. Our consumption sample size from Barn Owl is large over a long time, and we have not been disappointed. Same quality and care every time we get something.

If you haven't signed up for their weekly email, I highly recommend it. Great insight into island sights and sounds as well as the interworking and symbiotic relationship of farmers, bakers and land. I look forward to it each week.

My family loves Barn Owl, and it is always fun to visit the farm to pick up assorted baked good.

My family and I love Barn Owl Bakery and everything they stand for: local business, love of family and earth, sustainable farming, food that is high quality, REAL, and delicious. Their gluten free lemon oat shortbread cookies are hands down the best (not just the best gluten free cookies, just plain old scrumptious). Their spelt crackers are divine. We feel so lucky to live on the same island as this marvelous family, and to be able to support their business.

Barn Owl makes the best loaf of bread, period. Their loaves are incredibly rustic and have that homemade quality. Whether you go for the country bread or the weekly special, or both, you can’t go wrong! My favorite dessert from Barn Owl is the Rosemary Sea Salt Shortbread Bar - truly to die for!

Barn Owl is a Lopez Island treasure. Everything they make is made with care and expertise and shepherded from the grain growing on Lopez Island fields to tasty goods baked in a wood-fired oven. Barn Owl sources local veggies and fruits and not only do they contribute to the local economy but they supported the community by staying safely open during the COVID lockdown. They have an impeccable commitment to great food, community and sustainability. I love their bagels, country bread, gluten free bread, apricot bread, rye bread and croissants but really, anything they turn out is top of the line, delicious and worth every penny!

One of our very favorite bakeries and a secret Lopez Island gem. Everything here is amazing and locally sourced, which is incredible. Our favorites are the seasonal fruit scones, their Country bread, and their Rosemary Shortbread, though truthfully you'll be happy with anything you pick at random from their stellar line up. Deliciousness!

Some of my fav Barn Owl offerings are: millet apricot bread, savory zucchini tart, spelt crackers, and the chocolate mint cookies!

The breads are rich and hearty, made with heritage grains, much of which are grown on the island by the owners (and neighbors) themselves. Like most agricultural operations on Lopez, the Barn Owl land is both a public space (farmstand) and a home space, be be sure to check their hours for the farmstand before making the trip :)

Barn Owl Bakery is amazing - the food, and the people who bake it. My favorites are the rosemary shortbread (hands down, the best shortbread on the planet), and the country sandwich bread, oh and the sourdough bread, oh and the scones are delicious! Thank you Barn Owl!!

These folks have been an absolute treasure for those of us who live on Lopez or spend time here. This is not a fru fru bakery, Their whole grain breads are terrific. Their sandwich bread makes a sandwich something special and the choc chip cookies and local fruit pastry items are fantastic. Expensive? Yes, compared to factory baked, sugar-loaded garbage. You get what you pay for.

Also, the Barn Owl folks stepped up in a major way to support us on the island with their great products during those dark days when we were going thru the early months of the Covid pandemic panic.

Barn Owl Bakery makes the world's best gluten free bread and cookies and other delectables. Okay, maybe I haven't tasted every option in the whole world, but I have tasted a lot, and Barn Owl is by far the best whole

We have buying gluten free bread from Barn Owl bakery for over a year. It is the best around. We even get it shipped to Oregon when we're not here as we can't find anything as good elsewhere. Try it.

Along with friends, we did pre-orders for pickup at the Lopez Farmers Market. The pre-order process was easy (other than choosing what to order!) with many different ways to pay. I recommend doing the pre-order as they were selling out of some of the items by 10:15am.

The baked goods and breads were outstanding. Thanks to sharing with friends we were able to try:
- Berry scone - perhaps a bit more of turnover and less dense than I think of a scone being, and absolutely delicious
- Lavender & lemon cream bun - light, a bit more subtle than I expected, very good.
- Blueberry Lemon Cream Danish - this was probably my favorite among the great pastries; it brought together a really nice set of flavors.
- Sourdough croissant - wow
- Sourdough chocolate croissant - while the sourdough was great as a croissant, it really shone alongside the chocolate. Less sweet than a typical chocolate croissant, which I appreciated.
- Maple vanilla cream cheese cinnamon roll - delicious
- Sourdough Spelt Butter Cracker - addictive. "I'll have just one more..."
- Savory Pesto Twist - very good
- Savory Tart - tart; spring onion, basil, summer squash. - I loved this; I think there may also have been shallot in it, one of our group felt it was a bit too onion-forward, so your preferences may very.
- Rosemary ciabatta - delicious on its own or as a side
- Miche - perfect accompaniment for a shellfish meal.
- Lopez Sandwich - Sliced Pan - we'e still working through this over the week. It's worked great as a toast and as the base for a grilled cheese, so far.

Lovely family owned business. Everything they bake in their wood-fired oven is spectacular. They grow their own grains here on Lopez with sustainability in mind. Sourdough croissant is my favorite.

Amazingly delicious, fresh, wood fired, sourdough bread! This small family run bakery puts the same care and love into their product that they bring to their community. They are the kind of people and business that make the islands special.

Our family’s weekly hot bread fix from Barn Owl is a non-negotiable fixture on the calendar. Only trouble is trying to keep my own sourdough culture alive for when they go on vacation a couple of times a year.
