Salt Creek inn

This is such a fantastic little place. Rooms are comfortable, clean and decorated thoughtfully. Linda is a great host. A big plus is Linda loves dogs and allows pets. Linda brought food and treats for my two babies. My two babies love staying here. Smokey Bear Motel across the street is NOT pet friendly. Such a gem of a motel. Stay here if youre in Capitan. It's close to Ruidoso and all the attractions and also close to historic Lincoln, NM. You wont be disappointed if you stay here.

The rooms are cutely remodeled store fronts. The rooms are large. Bed was comfortable, the room was well heated, and the bathroom was a bit cold. The rooms are located right on the main road, which is easy to find and convenient for walking to local restaurants and Smokey the Bear park, however it is a main road with traffic all hours of the night.

The Salt Creek Inn is such a unique and very cool place to stay in Capitan. The inn was clean and interesting, the antiques and themed rooms were super cool. The full-service commercial kitchen was perfect for entertaining our large group. The owners Linda Howard and her husband were interesting, full of stories and knew everything there is to know about the area - its history, the arts and more. Super great value for the experience. A must see and must stay when in southern New Mexico

Salt Creek Inn is an absolute GEM in the darling village of Capitan, NM. The owners have lovingly built and restored the entire property and every guest room is uniquely themed. We stayed in the gorgeous Santa Fe room which features a spacious, relaxing jacuzzi spa. You are within walking distance from Smokey Bear National Park and a short drive from Ruidoso NM. Keep your phone/camera ready to see wild horses and elk on the way!

We found this great spot on a recent road trip. We went to Capitan to visit the Smokey Bear museum and decided to stay as Salt Creek for the night. The place is so full of character and really comfortable. The owners are great people and know the area well.

They were beyond accommodating for us, easy, and the room was so unique and perfectly themed for Capitan. It was perfect.

Wow what a great getaway place. Have plenty of space. Quiet cozy. You have to come to feel the serenity. Nestled in the valley of Capitan in the heart of the village. Highly recommend!
