We just had one of our favorite restaurants experiences here and I’d 💯 visit every single time I’m in the area.
I credit our server, Misty, for making the experience even better. Her recommendations were absolutely perfect and the level of service delivered exceeded any expectations.
At her suggestion we did their award winning wings and understood instantly why they were award winning. We also opted for the sea bass and it may have ruined all fish dishes in the future.
Their famous Mai Tai is famous for a reason.

Not only does Kalani's have a fabulous happy hour, they also provided our group of 32 with a fantastic prix-fix dinner! Food, ambiance and service were all fantastic! Everyone had a wonderful time! I definitely recommend checking them out with a group of any size. You will not be disappointed!

We came here to celebrate my birthday and we had a wonderful experience. The food was phenomenal, the service was quick and atmosphere inviting. I didn’t get pictures of everything but we got a sushi roll and an app that were both amazing. Highlights were the mixed seafood grill and fillet.

I want to start by saying that I was not expecting too much. The night before my husband and I dined at Friday's at Harrah's and our service was lackluster at best leaving me a little discouraged about fine dining in South Lake.

However, we came to Kalani's and had Misty as our waitress. She is an absolute gem and made the experience so wonderful. She explained the local favorites, and was thorough with the menu. It was a full dining room but she and the team expertly balanced keeping our drinks filled and checked up on us frequently.

I highly recommend Kalani's and we'll definitely be back.

Came here for my birthday this past Monday. Very warm atmosphere but kind of loud when it's busy which makes it difficult to have a conversation. Seating is a little close together but not terrible.

The food and service was amazing! Drinks are decently strong which is always a plus. Its expensive but, in my opinion, worth the price.

To my surprise, they gave me a slice of their guava cheesecake for free because it was my birthday! Will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious Miso-Yaki Chilean sea bass with greens and Thai basil mashed potatoes! Rich in flavor, aesthetically pleasing, and hearty. The wait staff were attentive and friendly, and the cocktails were fantastic. A wonderful dining experience overall!

Amazing food, wonderful recommendations from our server Raul, had a fantastic birthday dinner with two other fellow people and they made sure to bring each of us a piece of delicious guava cheesecake and to sing happy birthday to us. WONDERFUL all around. Definitely will go again. LOVED my painkiller with the aged rum, if you're contemplating it, just do it. Sea bass was so soft and buttery, and the crab cakes were also devine.

Had a fantastic birthday dinner here! Foods were amazing! Husband was very impressed on the King Salmon and even said it’s the best salmon he’s had yet! My Mixed Seafood Grill was also nothing but perfect. Would definitely come back if we ever visit the area again and recommend this place to our friends and family!

Absolutely amazing service, stellar food, the crab cakes are absolutely to die for, 10/10 recommend, our server was an absolute joy. We celebrated our anniversary and this place absolutely outdid themselves with amazing food and amazing service

Surprisingly really good. Fresh fish and well seasoned dishes. Service is excellent. If you have been to a Roys this is very similar atmosphere. If you like a Hawaiian style restaurant with a focus on fish this might be the better of all the spots in Tahoe for this option.

We were celebrating our 29th Anniversary on our camping trip with our girls. Our waiter Raul was so kind and very helpful in choosing items to order. Had a wonderful dinner, even though we were not dressed for this 5 star dining, they didn’t turn us away. Every dish my family chose was excellent. The scallops that I had were dreamy to taste. The salad had a wonderful dressing that ai want again. We come up once a year and You bet we will return for another wonderful top of the line eating experience. Thank you again Raul for being an excellent employee of this amazing restaurant.

Expectations were met, we tried unsuccessfully to get a table and finally got our act together and made a reservation (highly recommend). Food was wonderful, full of flavor and in the right quantities. Friendly staff made our experience a hit. Their signature Chilean Sea Bass dish is excellent.

Food and atmosphere was great.

The family of 4 next to me and my daughter(dad, mom, daughter, son) picked up our tab without us knowing. Asked for my bill and server said it was paid for by them and they were already gone. Here’s to hoping they see this, absolutely the epitome of a class act family 🇺🇸🇺🇸!!

Upscale happy hour in the village. We came at 5pm, the opening and sat at the bar. I had the pretty lady martini and my husband the painkiller. Both were very good hand muttled drinks. We didn't eat anything this time but determined to go back and partake of more.

The service was great the food excellent. The drinks were tasty very laid back atmosphere really enjoyed dinner here. I will come back. Crab cakes and clam chowder were grate the tomahawk chop melted in your mouth. Sea bass was awesome.

Wow. Just wow. This restaurant was amazing. The food was perfect, there was a wonderful atmosphere, and I would come back every time. Definitely try this if you’re in the area.

I've been to lake tahoe many times but it was our first time to try at Kalani's and we were not disappointed. The service was great, the place was good and definitely the food was the best!! It's a bit pricey, but hey! It's reasonable and I want to go back there to try their other menu!! I'm a sushi lover and I love their Kalani roll. It's tastier than the ones in Raku Shushi. Their Ahi Poke tuna was also the best! OMG! I savored all the flavors on that night. Their strawberry dockery nailed it too, my husband was impressed with his drink The Waikiki, he loved being a little tipsy. We are definitely going back for sure!!! And before I forget, call them and be sure to get a reservation because they get filled right away!!

Came in for martinis and we weren’t disappointed. Both the lychee and pear martinis were excellent, and the service at the bar was top notch. We’ll be back to try the sushi tomorrow.

I loved Kalani's, food was very good, service was good, and me and my friends drink were good. I got the Painkiller and she had I think the Chains Required which is a hot coffee drink. If I go back to Tahoe again, I plan to go back to Kalani's and try another dish. This time I got the Kalua pig quesadilla and she got the Loco Moco benedict.

Happy hour 5-6pm. Try the short ribs.

The kitchen is excellent here as are the staff. Expensive but not overpriced.
