The food here never disappoints! I could happily eat here every week. The rosemary naan is a particular favorite. Try the Gobi Manchurian!

Food and margarita were excellent, very friendly staff. Didn't wait long for food. I would definitely recommend.

Update: Went for mothers day and they must have been very busy. It took a long time for services, there were other issues, but I want to give the benefit of the doubt because we never had issues before. Mothers did get a rose and free cake, so that's was really nice.

I love a great Mexican Restaurant! I was down in Texas for 17years and the food down there is THE BEST!! I have not found a great Mexican restaurant in Iowa until I went ((Las Brasas Restaurant)) in Anamosa Iowa!!! It is THE BEST!!! Not only is the food Amazing but Henry and his Wife and his Brother, Make you feel welcome every time you come in his restaurant! I have went to a lot of different places in Cedar Rapids, and my sister even took me to the new one that open up in Anamosa, I will not be going back there… I will always give a restaurant a try and give them a chance, but when you have the best it’s hard to go anywhere else!! I want my money going to someone who deserves it and puts there love and passion in what they do!!! HENRY!! We will always go to you for now on!! Thank you for the GREAT food!!☺☺❤❤🌻🌻

The staff is incredibly kind and committed to giving you a pleasant dining experience. The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is great! They had some great live music during my visit. All around great place!

Solid 10/10 experience, very hospitable and friendly staff. Tamales were delicious and so were the margaritas, their tequila was high quality and delicious (not usualy a tequila person but it was very good tequila). Chips and salsa were also very good and I 100% recomend this restaurant for any birthday or celebration, even just regular dinner. We had a blast!

I love the food here! The service is very pleasant and kind. I'm watching the carbs but really enjoy the salads as a nice treat! The restaurant is always super clean, too. Las Brasas es mi restaurante favorito!

Everything we had was delicious...my dinner partner said the Las Brasas Salad (pictured)was the best salad she'd ever had...service wasn't great but they were busy and our servers were very friendly

I consider myself a foodie. I’ve been to a lot of Mexican restaurants. How many have I been to where the owner himself came to the table and greeted and joined us in a shot of tequila. One. How many have I been in that had live music on a Wednesday night. One. The margaritas, the chorizo. The shrimp, the beef, the hospitality. 11/10 best restaurant experience we’ve had in a while.

Food is great. Drinks are amazing. Staff are awesome.

My wife and I have traveled all over the midwest (and she lived in Texas for 17 years), and we have eaten at a lot of restaurants, and even more Mexican restaurants. Some places have a good dish I like, or a good drink she likes, but not a lot have both. However, there is one restaraunt that CONSISTENTLY serves amazing food and drinks, with friendly staff and a genuine desire to make you happy... Las Brasas Restaurant, in Anamosa, Iowa. The owners, Henry and Gerson, are gifted chefs, who work very hard to give their customers a quality meal and a fun environment. They would literally give you the shirt off their backs, that's the kind of people they are. It is a family owned restaurant, and they are a great family. When we go to Las Brasas, we have our favorites, but every choice is quality food cooked right... with amazing flavor. My wife loves the rice, seasoned with garlic and spices, and always cooked just right. It's even better with queso poured on it, or as like she likes it, with shrimp. This guy really knows how to cook shrimp. He has a secret spice recipe he puts on it and a few other things, and it is magnificent. The salsa that comes with the complimentary chips and salsa is so tasty, the perfect way to get started. My personal favorite dish here is the Camarones Chipotle, which is Chipotle sauce over shrimp. Omg the sauce is so good... I like hot spicy food, so I always ask for habanero salsa, which is wonderful and really turns up the heat. Those shrimp are cooked so perfectly, just melting in your mouth and so flavorful. I love many other dishes here too; burritos, Henry's Tacos (that is the actual name), the fajitas, and so much more. One way you can tell this is a great restaurant with talented cooks who care, is that when you order the a la carte items, they are just as good as when you order them with the dish. The beans, the rice, the guacamole, they are all cooked right and flavorful. My wife says that there is no other place she has ever been that has better margaritas than Las Brasas. Big, cold, and refreshing, they get you where you need to go guaranteed! Henry loves his tequila, and he loves bringing it to his customers. It is his way of saying thanks and that you are his friend. It is heartfelt. If you are in Anamosa or you simply want a good night dining out and want quality, tasty Mexican cuisine, stop into Las Brasas and check out their daily specials. Ask to meet Henry, and have fun. Hubby and I were in Anamosa for a work event that finished around dinner time. He had heard there was a good Mexican restaurant. We found it and we’re not disappointed.

They bring chips with salsa to the table which tasted fresh and homemade. We chose a guacamole appetizer which again was absolutely fresh and delicious.

Hubby ordered a steak entree described as spicy. It was and he loved it. I ordered a shrimp dish which I loved. The shrimp was fresh and perfectly done.

I cannot eat milk products. The restaurant was very accommodating about taking care to not add one sauce that had some creaminess to it. I love it when places take care of patrons like us.

A couple days ago on August 12th we went there to celebrate my Mom's Birthday (first time being there by the way) and not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was thoughtfully personalized for every table & the atmosphere was warm, welcoming.
Henry was awesome too, he even took a shot with us to celebrate the occasion and he along with the staff were very accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better time!

The food and menu choices were really good. The photo opportunity was missed on this delicious experience. We were so hungry and ate everything, then realized that we didn’t snap one picture of our courses; but did one of the wall art. The owner was very friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the food was made with fresh ingredients. The Don Julio Margaritas were just right. Las Brasas is a small business, locally owned and operated, working hard to make authentic Mexican flavors, and creates great Mexican Food in Anamosa Iowa.

We love going here! The food is delicious & always great service. The owner always makes it a point to talk to us & if we are displeased in any way (which is not often) he makes it right. We go every couple weeks or so & enjoy the atmosphere. We're lucky to have such a good place to go & enjoy while being so close to home.
