Amuzgo Mexican Cuisine

I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my second child and in lieu of a “sprinkle shower” we decided to have a nesting party. We desperately needed sustenance after organizing, cleaning, and talking.

After cleaning my entire house we catered food from Amuzgo Mexican cuisine. To say this was a good choice is an understatement.

The food was not only delicious but there was so, so much of it! We ordered steak and chicken tacos (with corn+flour tortillas, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lettuce, cheese, & sour cream), rice, beans, guacamole, chips, salsa, grilled veggies, and (the biggest hit) cheese and potato Flautas. The tray of flautas were demolished as my mother in law laid out all the other food.

Horchata is also a favorite in our circle so we ordered two gallons but I’m almost positive it was 3!

I’m glad this small business is so close to home. Not only was the food a huge hit, the customer service and kindness from the owner, who was helpful through every step of the process, is something we won’t soon forget.

This place is hidden away, but the food is excellent, and service is fast. I haven't tried all the menu items, but I definitely recommend this place and will come back again. One of the few places that makes a great taco salad.

This is a cute, casual spot with excellent food & wonderful service! The prices were reasonable as well. I tried one thing completely new & loved it; it was a shrimp burrito. I also loved the sauce on the burrito suizo! I look forward to trying the Barbacoa next time! Everything was fresh & delicious! The staff was very kind. We will be beck for sure!

BEST ENCHILADAS VERDE AROUND- I am a big Mexican foodie, very picky and drive all over to find the best tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Most places are bad. That’s why I don’t leave reviews, but this place really surprised me. Didn’t expect a super favorable green salsa that is served warm from pan glazed on top of your freshly wrapped tortillas with your choice of meat. I personally love them with Barbacoa or chicken. Yummm. Def some of the best barbacoa around.
Wait there’s more their mole ones are also really good too. Those were my favorite until I tried the green ones.

Okay , this place is authentic… not your typical Taqueria, but real Mexican cuisine - fast food style with sit down restaurant quality! The owner is super personable and has a superb understanding of customer service!   this will quickly become our favorite place, so much to try on the menu! 

Torta and fries 🍟 (see photos) was delicious. Located on the first floor. Handicapped parking right out in front. Right next to Starbucks, and across from Jewel. Great food, great selection, and they have several menus (regular, Vegan, And Meatless). For lunch, they currently have a free can of soda with your meal (11am - 2pm, M -F)

The Carne Asada fries are out of control delicious!! Huge serving I could not eat them all!! They have a lot of menu items - great prices I do recommend and would come back for more fries!!

Super fresh ingredients! Lettuce in my burrito was still crispy! Ordered steak burrito for lunch, it was definitely a large helping of tasty food!

Food was ready quick, attentive staff, taco salad has hot, not too oily and well filled.

After receiving a winter reading award from the Algonquin Library for Amuzgo, I will definitely keep this place in mind when I have a taste for a fantastic burrito! The Suizo Burrito Al pastor was so flavorful filled with tender meat. I highly recommend trying it out!!

We love Amuzgo!! I am a big nachos lover and they have HANDS DOWN the best nachos I’ve ever had! My partner loves the food, we’ve tried many things on the menu and it has never disappointed. The food is always hot and you can tell it’s fresh and cooked from scratch. The customer service was great, the man who we see there a lot (assuming the owner) is very conversational and makes the experience that much better! 10/10 recommend

Had a great Sunday evening dine in visit with our family of 8. Had the tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas. Great food and delicious churros! Highly recommend! Great job Team!

Outstanding Mexican food! Definitely will be back. I loved the carnitas enchilada with salsa verde and it was super fresh and so tasty. The guacamole is made fresh constantly and is also delicious. Sal, the owner, takes time to talk to his customers and truly make you feel welcome! While I was deciding what to have, he personally welcomed two families and knew them by name!

The location can be hard to see, but just remember it’s right next to the Starbucks and you won’t miss it! Highly recommended by this former SoCal Mexican food lover. Muy bueno!!!

Love, love, love this place! We drive 25 minutes for what we think is the best food around! The owner Sal is always welcoming and loves making recommendations! Everything we’ve tried is delicious! We are driving there as I type this! Lol!

Sal and the Amuzgo team go the extra mile to ensure you have a quality dining experience. If you have a strong appetite for Mexican food, I suggest you try their pork, rice water, or chimichangas. Hands down the best chimichangas in the Algonquin area. Thank you for sharing all your expertise, Sal.

First time here and definitely will be back! Met the owner-very friendly and helpful. Went out of his way to make our dinner special! I had the taco salad excellent choice. Service, food, music-everything was great!!

Everything we have tried is very good. Decent portions, nice price, friendly staff. The chimichanga is my favorite so far. The sour cream, guacamole, and pico is a nice touch. My kids love the churros!

Owner is very kind and always has great conversation with you. Food is tasty! Everything on menu is delicious.
