The Great Alma Fishing Float

This float is by far the best one I have ever been to. The fishing is always amazing out there. The new owner is also a very nice guy I would highly recommend checking this place out!

What a FUN place. This was the first time for my son and I. We caught Croppies, Perch, Sunfish, SM Bass, and Norther Pike. I was bobber and jig fishing while my son was surface casting. My son actually lost several huge Pike that were substantially larger that the ones pictured below. We never felt crowded, and this was a Saturday. Fish were being caught every few minutes by some group, and catching different fish from us. We'll be back for Walleye this fall.

A fun place to spend a day catching many different species of fish in an extremely scenic area. Awesome little river town with lots of things to do around the area.

Great place to fish on the river if you don’t have a boat or have a large group. Huge amount of dock space right below the dam. You can buy food and bait right on the float. There are even 12 bunks if you want to stay the night and fish after dark. Rooms have AC and heat. Bunks are a little tight but it is a house boat. We had a blast and will be going back.

Cool place. So red neck in the best way. I am a terrible Fisher man, but we caught 10 big ones of all kinds. Friendly owner, great locals and chairs to sit on.

Was picked up by the workers by boat to their fishing float. They have bathrooms, bbq grills (if use, just need to bring ur own charcoal) sinks if need to use it, a mini snack station, and mini bait shop w/live minnow. Upon arrival, we called them to pick us up. Took about 10mins for them to arrive by boat, since they had just picked up someone else. I would recommend. Friendly people and my kids enjoyed it.

Great place for a family or just for some good fishing. It really depends on how the water is when you are there, but there always seem to be fish around. There is food available out there like pizzas or microwave sandwiches and other items, all are good. Lots of room to fish and try different spots even if there are other people out there. Bathrooms are ok, but have to bring own alcoholic beverages because they don't sell. Owners are very friendly and helpful, they want you to have a good time and go home with some fish. Perfect for all ages, especially if you don't have a boat. Would probably recommend bringing life jackets for small children even though there are railings.

Spent the entire day there and LOVED it. I caught 12 species of fish and many many in total. Almost didn't want to write a review and blow up my new favorite fishing spot but it's too good not to share. Owner is helpful, on-site bait is high quality and reasonably priced. Only minor drawback is accepting cash only but I totally understand with small margins how transaction fees would be a problem for them. Would highly recommend for anyone; families, buddies looking to habe a few beers and catch a ton of fish, even people who don't want to fish and are just looking for a nice quiet spot to hang out on the water. Awesome experience and I WILL be back!!

If you are thinking about going, GO! We just went for the cafe. Didn't have our fishing licenses. It is an experience!! Slow down for a minute, walk down to the river in Alma(if you don't know exactly where, any local will help you), lift up a board to signal the Fishing Float across the river that you are there, and wait for the owner to come pick you up in a custom made pontoon. We are not talking about anything fancy here. It is good food prepared by the an that just came and picked you up on the boat! In a small kitchen in a small floating cafe. Great views, stimulating conversation, Bifs for bathrooms, old recliner chairs outside, and something you will always remember. Truly special.

Jim was AWESOME! I took 5 kids fishing there, normally I don't get to fish as I'm getting hooks out fish, or putting new hooks on, Jim was there helping the kids whenever they asked.

This was as easy of fishing as it comes! The owners are beyond helpful, and you can't beat the views.

Great stay. Lots of fish. Biggest Walleye was 27 3/4 inches.
