Stopped into Hazelwood for their brunch on Saturday January 27th 2024 around 11 am. This is a large seating-capacity restaurant and we were seated immediately in a cozy room with a wall built-in gas fireplace. Overall the restaurant had a very inviting ambiance.
There are two bar areas, a huge wood-fired pizza oven, and another large seating area, and a line of booths as well.
We were greeted by Javier almost immediately, and we ordered quickly. Our piping hot meals arrived within about 12 minutes. We didn’t order alcohol.
We had Huevos Rancheros ($12.95) and the Chicken Pot Pie $(16.95).
On first taste we both realized the ingredients used in both entrees had been prepped that day and were fresh and tasty. Both were served in a piping hot oven-heated crock bowl sitting on a cooled plate, they were very aesthetically pleasing.
The Chicken Pot Pie was not a “pie” per se, it was a freshly baked buttered & flaky round puff pastry sitting atop a lot of creamy veggies and chunks of fresh chicken. The taste was delicious. It was obvious the chicken had come straight off the bird, as I did find a couple (very small) pieces of harder chicken pieces in the mix. It was no big deal. No bones were found.
The Huevos Rancheros was also hot and steamy, served in the same oven-heated crock with a cool plate beneath. It included 3 warm flour tortillas wrapped in foil, beans, chorizo, cilantro and a side of fresh avocado. Two sunny side up eggs and cheeses, chorizo and crispy tortilla strips were on top. The taste here was simple, not too spectacular (we probably should have accepted the hot sauce that was offered, it may have given more flavor). However the ingredients were obviously fresh that morning.
Both meals were VERY filling. I would give this the WORTH THE PRICE AWARD 🥇 as well. No problem when we presented a gift card with our check. I tipped accordingly to the original cost without the discount.
It happened to be my friends’ birthday, and she was given a free scoop of vanilla ice cream with caramel, chocolate fudge and freshly whipped cream (not from a bottle) and a cherry on top. Two spoons were included for sharing.
I would recommend Hazelwood for any time of the day’s meal. Next we’ll go for dinner!

Met a group of friends here tonight and all of our food was so good! 👌🏼 the deviled eggs, as well as the green bean appetizers were tasty. They beans had a bit of a kick. I had the pepper crusted salmon over veggies and it was amazing. Hubby had the Jumbalaya which was great too. Highly recommend! Cozy atmosphere, good food and drinks. Yum! 😋 also, Thomas as a great server. Thank you!

I had the deep fried walleye meal with french fries, and cole slaw. The walleye was amazing, virtually melted in my mouth. Cole slaw was very good, French fries were average. Restaurant is slightly upscale, with very good staff and service. There are separate bar and dining areas. Overall score - 4.6.

My family and I frequent Hazelwood Tonka Bay more than any other establishment (at least a few times a month). This place is dialed in every single time we visit. Laura is an amazing manager and her servers, although each has a completely differently personality, make our visits unique and awesome. The food is always consistently great! If you haven't been to Hazelwood, do yourself and those that you love a favor and GO!

Decided to go here for my mom’s birthday lunch. We both ordered the filet stroganoff, and it was possibly the best stroganoff we’ve ever had. The French onion soup is simply delectable. Our server was lovely too, and even placed a little candle on the cake we ordered for dessert. The atmosphere is always lovely.

Trendy, friendly, and clean. We enjoyed our time at Hazelwood! Made a reservation for brunch, no issues, place was very busy on a Saturday morning.

Very friendly server and food was solid. I saw an old post where omelettes appears to be ~$25 so didn’t want to go, but I called, and indeed, they are only ~$15.

They have a breakfast pizza, which I thought was pretty creative!! Pancakes were fluffy and buttery! Avocado toast was definitely the best item at our table though! Enjoy!!

Oh and order the large orange juice, the small is a joke. :)

I got the French toast with strawberries and whipped cream! Served with a sausage and a piece of candied bacon. It was beautifully presented! it was 3 round thick pieces of toast. It was a good amount. The service was great, and the atmosphere was very pleasant!

Came here for an early dinner with my sis on 420 while we were visiting Minneapolis. best French onion soup hands down that I have ever had. the French dip is spectacular wonderful service, great atmosphere, highly recommend The manager Laura is gracious and so professional, she personally checked on all the tables in the dining area and even stayed and chatted for quite some time with my sister and I. If you are anywhere near here you would not regret having a meal at this fabulous establishment.

The food is fantastic. We sat by the bar, and it got a bit loud. There are different areas though that would seem right for dates, family eating and even events. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While our actual waiter was less impressive, the manager was friendly and stopped by to see how things were. When she noticed we were done eating, she cleared our dishes right away. My son also broke a glass. The bartender and another waiter came over to clear the glass and wipe up the spill. All the while smiling, letting us know it happens all the time and not to worry.

Great food and service. The outdoor patio was nice, and there was a good selection of shady and sunny spots to suit your preference. Fried chicken, biscuits & gravy was great; so was the blackberry brie burger. Oh, and you MUST get the brie cheese curds. Easily in the top three we've tried...and we've tried our fair share of cheese curds 🙃

Would definitely eat here again.

Could not be more impressed. We have been here before but since reopening it is even better! We really loved the drinks and came in for valentines day dinner. Jess - our waitress - KILLED it tonight. Was very very attentive did an excellent job not hovering but being around when we needed her. The redesign of the restaurant was noticeable and very nice. Food well prepared, we had a Filet Oscar and the two lobster tails... both very well prepared. We can't wait to go back! This place seems like a breath of fresh air after the remodel and the breakfast menu is calling our names - especially that monkey bread! The free Popover service was a great touch too for dinner by the way!

Incredible dining experience. The food was absolutely incredible, drinks were great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. It was a great location to meet for dinner and drinks, and catch up with family. We ordered the prime rib, New York strip, and scallops for our entrees; these were all fantastic. The dessert was completely worth the time to order, rich chocolate cake and banana crème pie. I’m excited to return again.

Hands down the best food in the area. Service and atmosphere are great too, but it's the food that keeps us coming back. The only downside is that it's usually busy and can be hard to get a table, but that just shows how great the food is!

Whether it is been our little party of two or we've brought guests, all agreed that the food, atmosphere, and service is great for the price. You have a sense of it being an upscale restaurant that is very dedicated to excellent service and food.

The staff has come to know us and our favorites, which is so welcoming. We enjoy the seafood pasta, salads, breakfast omelets, pork chops, roast beef, chicken wraps, and chicken pot pie.

It is solid and tasty food that is served with consistent excellence. It is a great place to take the family and that also offers multiple healthy choices. I also recommend trying the lobster mac and cheese- nice big chunks of lobster. Their popovers are a regular special.

Also, Hazellewood Grill serves up a great Bloody Mary. Try one on Father's Day for a deluxe treat. It was huge and generously loaded with bacon, pickle, hot pepper, celery, an olive and more. It’s easy to see why the grill has been award Best of the Best status multiple times.

NOTE: the outdoor seating has its own private screening of flowers. As a gardener, they are remarkable and offer quite a restful repose. Often, families are there with a well-trained dog on a lease.

Hazelwood is fast becoming my go-to place when I am out with friends or family. The food is amazing and is reasonably priced! The flavors and spices they use in their dishes are so good and unique. There is something for everyone from light fare, comfort food, bar food, and breakfast until 2 p.m. - what's not to love?

Great job all around. Food was excellent! Everyone loved their meal. I had the pork chop. Wife had the salmon health bowl. I am in love with the mushroom thyme soup they send only on Wednesday night. The kids menu was even good which is rare. Not our first time and won't be our last

Honestly all around great experience and food. Everything we had from brie cheese curds to the French onion soup to the porterhouse was excellent. The location of an older strip mall is a little odd but a gem to find and highly recommend.

I don’t eat out a lot anymore so good food when I do means a lot. This place is really great at what they do.

Over all great! Love the bread pudding and port wines!! Bar tenders here are awesome!! Had one hunt down mint just to make my wife a mojito when the wait staff said they were out!! Above and beyond!!
