The Riverside Inn

The Inn is a great place to relax and enjoy the most beautiful parts of Michigan. My girlfriend and I first did all the Traverse city wineries and then drove only 20 minutes from Traverse city to beautiful Fish Town to stay at the Inn. We first got in and sat down at the bar for drinks, the bartender was great and provided pleasant conversation the whole time. Drinks were done exactly to our liking. Then we had reservations for their New Years pre fix dinner. When I reserved a table for this dinner I looked at the reviews and to be honest they weren’t great. But usually when someone leaves a review it’s because they had a bad experience or an incredible experience, and seeing that majority of people are looking for something to complain about I went ahead and scheduled a reservation. And wow oh wow every course was delicious and done perfectly, we were the youngest by far in the room but we are old souls so it was super relaxing and elegant vibes. 10/10 would highly recommend trying their dinner service out. All in all it was a trio that was extremely memorable and we already plan to be back. The rooms are gorgeous and clean, the location is beautiful. Everything was solid! Well done River Inn team!

Always a pleasure visiting our friends at Riverside Inn. A small tip for those who enjoy seclusion and charm during the Holidays: Visit in December. An intimate and cozy experience, Holiday charm like no other. The staff are fantastic as always, but you actually have time to speak and get to know the staff better when things aren't so busy like in high season. I liken my December visit to more of a Holiday gathering to see long time friends. Menu and service are top notch as always. Well done, and looking forward to many more stays!

We had dinner here and, WOW! Every bite we ate was amazing, succulent, delicious! The roasted chicken was prepared perfectly. The soup (a beet soup which at first I wasn't sure about when I ordered it) was delicious - layers of flavors and textures that really brought out the autumn senses. The staff was wonderful and the music and ambiance were both great too!

Everything about our trip was perfect. From the friendly check-in, to the stylish and comfortable room, to the generous drinks at the bar, to the deck of cards Riverside loaned us so we could stay disconnected on our overnight getaway, this was an amazing little trip. Not to mention, you can walk right into Leland directly from the Inn, so once we arrived, we did not need to get back in our car the rest of our trip.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Riverside Inn and look forward to returning soon.

Great little inn located in one of the best places to visit in Michigan. We stayed two nights and love our stay. The rooms aren’t massive, but perfect for having a place to rest when you are out adventuring. The place was very cozy, quiet, and peaceful.

We sadly didn’t get a chance to eat at the restaurant, but got a couple of drinks the night we arrived. The bartender was incredibly friendly and gave us some tips on places to visit while we were in town.

The check out procedures weren’t clear so that was a bit confusing when we tried to leave. Also, the parking situation can be a bit awkward. There’s no real lot so you have to find street parking, which can be difficult if the restaurant is busy. Overall, those are minor points on an otherwise wonderful stay. We’re already considering returning next year. Don’t hesitate booking a stay here!

The Riverside Inn is a luxury stay in Leland which boasts a wonderful restaurant as well. The rooms 120 year old building are well appointment in modern period, with comfortable beds and fine linens/bedding. The staff is beyond attentive and made our stay special. We hosted our company holiday party here and it was nice to offer some guests a place to stay for the evening. We hope to make it an annual event.

I'm not even sure where to start, because our evening here for dinner was so amazing! We were celebrating our anniversary weekend in Northern, MI and were staying in Leland (our favorite place ever) on our last night. My boyfriend booked us dinner at The Riverside Inn, which we'd never been to before. The food and the service absolutely blew us away. The setting inside is romantic and welcoming, plus you can't beat dining right next to the river. We enjoyed delicious drinks, a few great martinis and signature cocktails. The seasonality and freshness of the menu is part of what drew us to dining there, and we sure are glad we did. We started with cauliflower as an appetizer and shared a wedge salad. The ramp ranch was to die for! Main entree was a pork chop with foie gras braised cabbage, bacon jam, and shishito peppers. I don't think there are even words to describe how fabulous it was! Just writing and thinking about it makes my mouth water. Perfectly balanced dishes when it comes to taste, portion, and presentation. After dinner we enjoyed a hummer ice cream dessert drink and an espresso each. If I could go every week, I would! It left us feeling happy and full and extremely excited to go back.

We had the most wonderful experience hosting our rehearsal dinner at The Riverside Inn! Jen communicated clearly and quickly leading up to the event. She made it so easy and made everyone feel welcome. Our families couldn’t stop raving about the food and drinks! Everything was absolutely delicious. All we can say is thank you so much for making our night that much more special!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Riverside Inn. The location is fantastic, walkable to all of the charming shops in Leland, the beaches, etc. And the rooms are beautifully updated and designed. The bed was possibly the comfiest I've ever slept in! We will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic meal at Riverside Inn. The service was impeccable and the food was awesome. The salad was with made with fresh produce and the fillet was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the ambiance and the bar is great with a large offering of liquors. We had three different wines during our meal and all were great with our meals. It is a must visit.

The Riv is a favorite spot for us. Great cocktails, well stocked bar with an extensive, well thought out wine list that departs from the expected. The food has never disappointed. You get an upscale experience blended with the Northern Michigan casual vibe.

My husband and I lodged at The Riverside Inn for a romantic getaway. I cannot express enough how beautiful the Inn is. The hospitality was impeccable and we now know where we plan on staying up north every summer.

The dining & service was just as amazing! Who doesn’t love a “farm to table” selection. The hostess and staff were cordial. Highly recommend!

I was very impressed with the staff in general, very professional and friendly.

In summary, a great place to have a great meal paired with some great wines.

Staff is phenomenal ! Attentive to their guests needs. I stayed in the Island suite. Beautiful clean room with a view. I ended up hurting my leg waking around town. The staff was so caring that they went out their way to grab some stuff to make me feel better. They didn't have to but they did. Also their food is delicious! The bruschetta and White Fish with apricot glaze were amazing. Overall, great experience and glad to spend my anniversary there.

I had the beef tenderloin and it was fantastic. Cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth good. The mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery. The charred broccoli was crisp on the outside and crunchy on the inside. My wife had the ravioli and said it was very tasty. The view of the river is relaxing. After the sun set there was a warm comfortable glow in the dining room. Robin, our wait person, was attentive and personable. I only had one minor negative comment. The cost of the meal is not inexpensive so I don't understand the $3 charge for bread. I highly recommend The Riverside Inn.

Guest service was extraordinary! Kathryn, Parker and Libby make a fabulous team - creating a 5-star experience during our brief stay. Extraordinary dinners, beautifully prepared with appropriate attention to detail. Lodging overnight was delightful and Kathryn provided a ray of sunshine again during breakfast service. As a retired owner of several 4-diamond rated inns, I understand the difficulty in finding and retaining folks who understand and deliver service excellence with consistency. Bravo and congrats. My husband and I stay there every year. We love it so very much. Amazing staff, rooms are as adorable as could be and very clean. Not that it needed it, but it also just underwent some renovation, and it looks fantastic!! Can't forget the food. They have the best food in all of Michigan, hands down. I mean it, they really do. Delicious breakfast before 10 and all the fun you could want, just minutes (walking) away. We will always return!! ❤

The most delicious food in one of my all time favourite locations. You can't beat the Riverside views and incredible food.

What a wonderful dinner. The sea bass was awesome, but the whitefish with apricot soy glaze was the star. We docked and ate "dockside", ordered cocktails, and felt very comfortable. We have dined at the Riverside in the past. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit this evening.
