I am the founder of an all female motorcycle club and I reached out to Captain Itch to see if they could make a heat shield with our club logo embossed on it. I immediately heard back from them with the answer I was hoping for. They could do it if I could get a minimum number of orders from our members. I knew that wouldn't be a problem and that's when my relationship with them began.

The first thing that impressed me was their communication. They are on it! In a time when vendors often leave you hanging, Isabel and Morgan were lightening fast in getting back to me with answers to questions I had. Even more impressive was Isabel was traveling in Europe for part of that time! They kept me informed as to the progress and made sure they had everything they needed to make a quality product with an accurate fit. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about their communication!

And then there is the actual heat shield. I absolutely love it! Our logo has some fine detail in it and the embossing is spot on! The leather is of very high quality and much thicker and nicer than I anticipated. I have 15 very happy members!

Reviewing the INDIAN double ply heat shield: Great quality, lightning fast shipping and great communication. Got this for my husband's 2022 Indian Roadmaster and he said that it made a HUGE difference, probably more-so than the new headers he put on!! Highly recommend!

When I first bought my bike I got a heat shield from the dealership. Plain as it was it did the job. Five years later I got an upgrade. Wish I did this in the first place. Great product and looks great!

I wanted a longer and narrower fender bib for my Forty Eight to go with the solo seat. They did an Amazing job!

So when I give a review I like to address the good, the bad and the ugly. Here’s the problem. There is no ugly with this heat shield. I have been in contact with Larry, Captain Itch, for several weeks and finally had the time to stop by and meet him. Keep in mind this was around 8:15 at night and he was still in his shop and more than welcoming when I arrived. Larry seemed to be more than happy to give me a tour of the factory and we even spent several minutes just chatting about life. It was a wonderful experience just to meet him. After making my decision and completing my purchase I was back on the road to Crossville. Larry explained to me that it would take little time to complete the installation but I informed him in advance that I am not very handy and that I knew it would take me longer than the average Joe.

I want to start with the bad about installing this heat shield. To no fault of Larry, Indian did not do the best job of designing the Roadmaster for seat removal. Don’t even get me started on the tour pack. Now had I owned a mechanics garage set of tools, I could have gone through the power adapter as Larry recommended. The problem is, I don’t own an allen wrench that measures in 8-10” in length so I was forced to remove the tour pack and saddle bags to the remove the seat. Once this was done I was ready to install my heat shield. Let’s just say, this thing aint going nowhere. It is there to stay for sure. I would guess that it took about 25-30 attempts to get the seat slid back into place before it finally seated properly. Again, no fault of Larry.

Now with the good. Or should I say, THE GREAT! Once installed I did what every rider does. I had to go for a test ride to see how my new addition performs. After all it can’t just look amazing on the bike, which it does. Not that its 100 degrees outside but even the low 80’s can make this bike feel like you are riding thru a forest fire. After about 20-25 minutes of riding wearing light running shorts I can say with all certainty that I will NEVER EVER ride again without one of Larry’s heat shields.

Thank you so much, Larry for being such a great person and producing such a fine product. I really feel like I have made a new friend and that alone is priceless.

Highly recommended the staff is extremely professional. I had called them and gave them the dimensions for my mustache engine guard. Decided to the exact measurements that I provided and accommodated overnight shipping will definitely do business with them again.

Really pleased with the heat shield for my Heritage. Came quick and is very high quality materials and craftsmanship. Can't wait to see how much better it reduces heat than the plastic one I had on and it truely looks awesome!

We finally made some time to install the "CaptainItch" heat shield with the embossed Army "Airborne" wings on my Indian Roadmaster/sidecar at my son's shop. Went together like a piece of cake, 1, 2, 3!!!! Looks so good, too! And the light leather saddle color matches perfectly!!!!!

Getting to my son's shop, I was riding into hell - temp was 99 ++ degrees and I was burning up.

Leaving his shop to ride home, the temp was still 99, BUT NO HEAT from the rear cylinder!!!!!! I couldn't be more pleased.

It took the heat from the engine completely out of the picture!!!! Fantastic product. No heat at all on my ride home.

I ordered a heat shield last week. It arrived fast and the product was exactly as I ordered. It was much higher quality than I expected and beautifully crafted. I wouldn’t buy anything leather crafted from anywhere else going forward. The craftsmanship was outstanding! This place is on point.

Received heat shields about 2 weeks ago. It was really difficult to install as they were a very tight fit. However, with the help of my wife, she held the back of the seat up and pushed forward while I put my knee on the top front of the seat pushing with all my weight. The seat slots on the bottom front finally slipped onto the square bars.
That aside, I have put about 300 miles on my Indian since the heat sheild install, one ride was a 200 mile trip, and I did notice a difference with the heat from the right-back of my engine. There is still heat, but noticably better. The weather temperature was in the 80's - 90's. I would recommend these heat shields.

The quality and the customer service are top notch. I've purchased multiple items, and the quality is always consistent. I really enjoy working with a family owned business. One of the owners actually called me to clarify an order, which ended up saving me money. That's honesty and integrity...and that's rare these days.

Can't say enough about this company, it is amazing! I will definitely do business with them again. I had a problem getting my head shield to fit under my seat and Isabel was so great, she talked me thru it and it fits. I love the shield and it is such great quality leather now I don't have to worry about burning my thigh. Thanks again Isabel
