Quality Inn & Suites

Well cared for and maintained in a nostalgic historic building downtown. Affordable and clean. Rooms are large given that it is converted office building. Bed comfortable and plenty of nice pillows. We brought our canines and had a lovely visit. Staff was very nice and welcoming. We will come back!

The employee who helped us this this evening (oddly enough from west virgina) was great to work with! She truly went above and beyond as well as the the rest of the staff at the hotel. We booked online earlier in the day but made the mistake on booking for the wrong Friday night. Unfortunately there happened to be no vacancy at any hotel within a 50 mile radius and we were 8 hours from home during a blizzard. She was able to get us into a room that was getting some maintenance done to it for the night and truly saved our trip! Well done to all of the staff at this hotel so being so helpful and friendly! Would defiantly stay here again!

Our car broke down near Virginia MN on our way to the cabin. We stayed one night at Quality Inn which made our bad experience/luck more tolerable. The room is quite nice with very comfortable beds, considering the modest room rate. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and Sauna. The staff Joy was extremely helpful and friendly. The free breakfast was very decent with yogurt, juice, sandwich, granola bar, water. Will definitely stay there again hopefully not because of car issues next time.

Stayed here for a weekend while up north for a ski trip at Giants Ridge. The 5th floor suite we stayed in was incredibly spacious and the styling of the room was definitely remnant 1960's high society. It's obvious this building is a historic gem, and definitely needs a bit of love and updating. However, that does not diminish the quality of our stay! There was lots of parking out back and the pool was quite nice! Would definitely stay here again!

There’s something wonderful about staying in a well-constructed building from a bygone era. Standing outside, and walking through the hallways, you can’t help but notice the functionality and structural integrity of this great old place. Shower was great with plenty of pressure. Nice to see a swimming pool open— we didn’t use it, but nice to see families with kids enjoying it while riding the glassed-in elevators. Front desk staff was friendly. As out of state travelers continuing to search for summer-home worthy property in the Ely area, I’m certain we would return here in the future.

The room was clean and the staff were all very friendly. We stayed in the chestnut suite and the room was very beautiful, spacious, and had a lovely historic charm. The building is well maintained and is walking distance from the restaurants and Canelake's candies!

The building is beautiful as it's a renovated historic building. The beds were comfortable. Room was very clean and close to a lot of amenities for the town. We really enjoyed the pool, as well. Hot tub was closed due to covid.

This hotel refused me a room because they have a pet policy. No pets!!
All businesses, hotels, restaurants etc are required to offer the same accommodations to guests w service animals the same freedom and privileges they offer to average customers. This hotel sent me away with my service dog at 1 am after a long drive. They don’t understand the federal protection I am entitled to but what good does it do the protected class when I was still turned away without a bed? Should I call a lawyer every time this happens? Sad thing is it has happened countless times this year. Shame on the business owner who practices customer care this way. I only put 5 stars so this review gets more visibility!

Unique Place! Nice clean rooms, comfortable bed. Suites are a great size for relaxing. Breakfast was superb. Pool, jacuzzi and sauna in a super relaxing setting. Great place to stay in Virginia.

Breakfast was always kept full and hot. Rooms were clean and pool although cold kids loved it! Front desk helpful and friendly. Definitely would come and stay again.

The hotel is very clean and inviting on the inside. The room I had was larger than I had anticipated, and the staff were friendly.

The staff is great. Everyone is really friendly. Awesome breakfast. Nice pool area. Will definitely stay again when we are in town.

Affordable and eclectic!! I love how this palace feels like stepping back in time a bit, without sacrificing everything modern.. I've been here several times and whenever I am up, it is for sure my go to. Friendly fast staff always making sure everything is exactly how you need it!! Thanks guys!!

What a great place!! We enjoyed the room. Very comfy. Was a little surprised that the outside doors were not secured with room card entry.

The price with the amenities is why I give this property a 5. The sauna is nice and the breakfast is very nice.

This older hotel has had a lot of updating. Very comfortable rooms with newly updated kitchen area and bathrooms.

I have stayed in this hotel for business and each time am impressed with the courtesy of the stay and the cleanliness of the rooms. I have not used the pool but it looks great.

Pleasantly surprised. Well kept historic building with comfortable rooms. Eats and drinks within walking distance.
