Celestial Cafe

It was my second visit to Celestial Cafe, and my only regret is that I have not returned sooner. To celebrate the return of my nephew from deployment, we had a party of 12 guests. The server was pleasant, attentive, and we never felt rushed even though we may have overstayed our welcome since everyone was so eager to catch up with one another, especially my nephew. We went for brunch, and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, I only recall a few of the dishes I photographed and their brunch menu is not available online. I enjoyed a delicious waffle with berries and strawberries on top along with a scrambled egg. You should pass on this if you are not a fan of overly sweet foods. Despite being amazing, it was very rich. A classic eggs Benedict was ordered by my husband, while my nephew ordered an omelet that referenced "an Italian food". The name of the omelet was unusual and I wish I could recall it. Nevertheless, he declared it to be delicious. My niece enjoyed the tree hugger's omelet. We all had a wonderful experience. It is important to note that if you are making reservations for a large party, they are only open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Additionally, there are only long tables available, so it is unlikely that you will be able to have a conversation with everyone in your party. If anyone is concerned about accessibility, we had a friend attend who just had foot surgery and was very comfortable using a knee scooter. There is a focus on serving brunch and lunch at a price point of contemporary casual dining. I would like to return in the evening to try some of their mouth-watering dinner dishes. To conclude, I would recommend that you visit this charming establishment that has a romantic bistro feel and serves flavorful and unique dishes.

This is a restaurant with a creative and delicious variety of food. I had some of the best Jambalaya since I lived in Louisiana and my wife had a uniquely made Eggplant Tower. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive plus well versed in the menu choices. We have already made plans to return with several of our friends as this meal is well worth a repeat visit.

Not a single crumb was left behind. Chicken & Bacon Blue sourdough flatbread and the Shrimp & Scallop Risotto were incredible!

My wife and stopped for the pork belly ramen last night. Per usual it did not disappoint. This dish is loaded with flavor. Nothing I’ve eaten before compares to the party in my mouth with every bite. Thanks for another delicious meal 🥘

Came here with my husband and everything was amazing! Our server Paige was very attentive, friendly and helpful with deciding on our meals. My husband got the ribs which were delicious and I got the garlic smoked pork noodles and it was out of this world! We ended the night with the key lime pie and Irish coffees and we can’t wait to go back for more!

Celestial Cafe was host to a family celebration of 50 guests! Their event coordinator was fantastic and flexible- she offered us many options that suited a 100% GF menu! Cocktails from the bar were on point. Staff was unobtrusive yet always at-the-ready! The food was exceptional as ALWAYS! Thank you Celestial Team for a memorable and classy event!

I really liked the food, service and atmosphere. I was happy to see locally sourced foods. The servers were super kind and the chef came to check in. They're vibe really matched the atmosphere: intimate and warm. Definitely will be back

It’s a lot nicer in here than I expected from the name. They had a parking lot and plenty of seating. It seemed to be pretty popular of a place with the locals we spoke to at a nearby table. I would maybe try something else different if I return.

I tried something I had a free coupon for and I didn’t really enjoy what I had at all BUT I do love that they are all locally sourced etc. it’s a bit pricey but local sourcing makes that all right. The bathroom was very messy when I came here and I cleaned it up while I was there. I expected a place like this to maybe have a small amount of female products available but it’s just the bare minimum In the restrooms.

A not so hidden gem, since it's always busy. What a wonderful restaurant in southern RI, out in the middle of nowhere. The best locally sourced cuisine. Hot chips are amazing and addictive.

Blown away by this menu(and staff). Brandon and his team are doing it right! I will be back and SOON!

Honestly I have to say this is one the best restaurants I have been to in awhile they have a great menu selection along with great customer service. I have been here several times and never once a bad experience and love the new addition that they have started cant wait to see what it looks like after once its 100% done!

This place does some really creative and wide-ranging dishes. Everything is locally sourced- environmentally friendly and fresh!

Our waitress Paige(hope I got that right) was great- always checked in on us and made sure we got everything we needed. We got the chowder, Calamari as well as Sweet Potato Wontons for appetizers, Baked fish, chicken, and scallops for main dishes, and red velvet gelato for dessert.

The savory sauces were a little much for the chicken and fish, but seems like most people like it that way.

Scallops and risotto were perfect. So freaking good.

Sweet potato wontons and gelato were incredible!!! I don’t think you’ll find anything like it anywhere else. An awesome experience, for those adventurous enough.

The gelato was crazy good. I mean, I tend to exaggerate, but it may have been the best I’ve ever had.

Pictures were taken after bites because it just looked too good. Chowder was flavorful too- didn’t have a chance to grab a picture, but yum!

On Valentine's Day dinner, we went to Celestial Cafe. Wow, what a meal! We both agreed it was the best meal we have had for a long time: The duck appetizer was perfectly cooked and presented artistically, the main dish, Seafood and fillet mignon were heavenly and dessert Creme Brulee superb, we left the restaurant feeling sublime!

Having an adventure with amazing food at Celestial Cafe. Newport needs to get off their lazy backs and make food like this! Asparagus fries and sweet potato bisque both with microgreens. Coming up for dinner swordfish with a garlic sauce and jambalaya with local chicken and sausage. Awesome vegan options throughout the menu. Full bar and decent wine list. This place is great. Oh and did I mention in-house homemade lava cake with gelato and whipped cream? Yeah...

I live in the area and have been wanting to try Celestial for a while now. I finally went their for brunch and absolutely loved it. As a vegetarian, I always appreciate having multiple meatless options to choose from – and I ended up getting the Tree Hugger omelet. The omelet had a unique combination of flavors and the home fries and toast were excellent. It can be hard to find a place with crispy home fries, but Celestial has them.

Excellent place for locally sourced food. The chef is constantly coming up with new entrees, starters, etc. Good selection of wine and craft beers. Update: Wonderful 5 course fall meal!!!

Our favorite restaurant in the state. Fried brussel sprouts is the best appetizer. If there is a new item I haven't tried, we trust this chef, and that pork belly and pulled chicken ramen was out if this world. My wifes chicken was perfectly cooked with her favorite side mashed potatoes and root vegetables. This place is farm to table, supports local businesses, and delivers an amazing unique experience.

Sunday brunch was great. Satisfying meal. I ordered the mushroom omelet and was impressed with it. Everything needed a little more salt (to my taste) but that was an easy fix. I've never had a bad dish here!!

A true hidden gem! Food is fabulous - fresh and locally sourced. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.

This is a hidden gem and one of the top restaurants in the state! Consistently delivering amazing meals, high quality, fresh, local ingredients. So much flavor in every dish. This time we enjoyed the pork nachos, baby back ribs, pork noodles, and bean burger. The staff is extremely courteous and friendly, exceptional service with a local, family-oriented feel. Don't skip it!
