AMAZING pimento cheese sandwich with the most beautiful touch of green pepper jelly. Lots of menu options and reasonable prices for made to order food. I had the lunch combo for $16.
Outside seating and indoor decor adds to the relaxing vibes. Which you will need because there was a +40 minute wait for food for people during Sunday lunch.
No complaints from me, the atmosphere of Lora Mae's made me want to stay and have a glass of wine.

It was our first time dining at Lora Mae's in Ballground. We were impressed that there is plenty of parking at the "old house" Cafe. That's a plus in Ballground. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Our server went out of her way to get everything just right for us. Everything was very clean and the food was presented in an appealing way. The decor is nice with the original artwork that is for sale. We ordered the half-combo which is a sandwich, salad and cookie or chips. There was more on the menu like soups, specials and other lunch favorites. The selections change often which is my understanding.

We went with a group of 4. The wait time was very reasonable, and gave us time to look around at the various food and decorative items for sale. We had fresh squeezed lemonade, a meatloaf sandwich, tomato basil soup, pasta salad, and the chicken salad sandwich. Everything was delicious, even the homemade desserts. If you’re looking for a place for lunch that’s delicious and off-the-beaten-path, Lora Mae’s does not disappoint!!

This is one of our favorite spots to grab lunch. The sandwiches are always well crafted and delicious. The grilled pimento cheese with green pepper jelly is my fave! It's a neat setup in a historic home with a friendly and calm vibe - highly recommend!

They just opened and their hours are 11 am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. It’s an really interesting place, shop and dine the sign says, so we stopped in. Along with food, they have some really nice, spices, oils & vinegars, coffees, sauces and other items. Many of the items are unique.

Located in a beautiful restored home just one block off main across from the library.

Make sure to check out the chandelier made with keys!

They also have a room perfect for hosting groups or small events.

My husband took me to lunch today and asked "what sounds good?" I said, I'd love some chicken salad, in a quaint place, and somewhere new! Well, we searched Yelp and found the perfect place! Head North to Ball Ground (such a sweet town) and right across from the library is Lora Maes! White charming farm house, walk in to this sweet cafe and order up at the counter. We both had the CS croissant which were homemade and oh so yummy! We grabbed our own drinks of fresh brewed tea and lemonade (refills plenty) the house displays local artists and sells jams from Maine. It's the perfect place to retreat for a lovely, delicious lunch. Check their times on FB/Instagram and their menus too. But of course get the Chicken Salad (everything made daily and sourced locally) Nancy the owner came by to check on us and she is so incredibly sweet! Loved talking with her. She even showed us their event space in the back which can be rented out for showers, parties and even Tea Party. My only wish is she would turn into the ole Tea Leaves and Thyme from Woodstock! You are missing out if you don't try this place. It's like our very own Chicken Salad chick right here in North GA! This is my new go to place! Can't wait to come back! Oh and the chocolate chip cookie was so yummy. She has tables and a picnic table too. Can you tell I'm thrilled I found this place!

We had lunch food was good, it’s a cozy place. After lunch we ended up sitting outside for 1 hour relaxing and enjoying this beautiful weather.

Daily visit or special luncheon with “ the girls” the “ go to” place for food, fun and fellowship! Love the great soups and of course as a Southern Belle we also love a glass of sweet tea or cup of hot tea. Chicken Salad “ to go” a must!!! Take it home for the family or for your lunch at the office. Stunning Historical home and wonderful atmosphere.

Came here for a work meeting. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I have dietary restrictions, and the staff was very accommodating. Will definitely be coming back again!

Adorable house remodeled for a quaint cafe experience. I got the chicken salad on top of a green salad that was delicious. They sell infused oils and balsamic vinegars which I also took home. Have yet to try them. Will definitely go again and recommend!

Great find in Ball Ground. 100% made from scratch and you can tell. We had lunch here on a crisp fall day, and it was delightful. Loved our grilled pimento cheese with pepper jelly and chicken salad sandwiches were delicious. Unique atmosphere and gracious owner. Thank you Nancy for hosting us under the cedar tree😁

Had a takeout order with the chicken salad croissant and an oatmeal cookie. The crossaint was perfect and the chicken salad is amazing!

The cookie surprised me with a bit of coconut but it took the flavor to the next level.

Now I no longer have to miss having a chicken salad chick close by because this is even tastier!

Went twice for lunch in the last couple of weeks. Great Lunch Deals! I had the Tomato/Basil Soup, Pimento Cheese sandwich (Ciabatta Roll), Chips and a Softdrink. Soup and Sandwich excellent.

Lora Mae’s is awesome! I'd never been to the town of Ballground and the whole community was so very quaint and charming. The restaurant fit right in as it’s in a cottage style house, setup like a Southern tearoom, but with a fun and modern style, and very welcoming. There are small tables in the front of the café where they also sell locally made products like jams, infused oils, honey, etc. In the back, they have larger family style tables to accommodate bigger groups. The restaurant is owner operated, so the service is excellent! And most importantly, the food was delicious!

There were eight of us and the menu is small, so I think within our group we tried just about everything— all to rave reviews. And while it was all delicious, everyone agreed that the best part was the carrot cake, so don't miss out on it! It was so light and fluffy - really, truly, the best carrot cake I've ever had! I'd come back just for the cake!

The food here is always good and fresh, and there is a nice outdoor seating area, as well. My favorite food here is their chicken salad croissant, and meatloaf sandwich. Highly recommend this place. Enjoy!

Laura Mays is an adorable, quaint and beautiful establishment. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
This was our first time here, we loved it and we will be back.

Stopped in after seeing the sign posted at the end of the road. Most definitely will be going again. The gentleman at the cash register was so polite and helpful! I decided to go with the full portion of the quinoa salad which is absolutely AMAZING and flavor packed!!! Can’t wait to try other food options and some sweet treats!

Visited this wonderful establishment with family and friends, and was made to feel welcome from the moment we all walked in the door! From the enthusiastic waiter, to the owner, Nancy Wurtz, we were pampered and made to feel at home. The sandwiches and soup were heavenly, and the fresh squeezed lemonade so refreshing! I will be back, for sure!!!

This quaint cafe was recommended by a local store we visited. We each had the 1/2 and 1/2 meal, 1/2 a sandwich and a bowl of soup or salad. The meal came with chips or a cookie and any choice of drink (water, soda, tea, lemonade). Good food and atmosphere, reasonably priced meal, the staff was friendly and helpful, really enjoyed our meal.

Cute little niche cafe that serves delicious sandwiches, soups, an deserts. This is a gathering place for the local women. It’s stroller friendly but there isn’t a designated place to change babies diapers. Mama’s have to go out to their cars to change diapers.
