Mountain Wood Products

I just purchased several bags from a local Publix. Good burning, quality wood, no problems at all getting it going with our gas starter. My guess is the bags are from China, can't imagine shipping wood from China when there is an over abundance of oak wood here in the Tennessee area from all the storm damaged trees. The mold is a wet issue and is completely harmless unless you stick your head in your fireplace.

For those wondering about the origin of this wood I can tell you it is locally sourced and processed in Pikeville, TN. I live in Pikeville and I drive by the facility all the time and you can see piles of logs and piles of split wood and workers bagging the wood. I don't know what type of wood it is though.

Very good mold burns in fire place. And you don't store in the house for ever

Purchased at local grocery store in a Fresh Pack bag, opened the bag later to find mold all over the wood. Store gave me a refund, but OMG what would happen if you breath in that mold.
