The Hamilton Mercantile

We stumbled upon this place and we’re so glad we did! It is the cutest little shop full of organic and natural foods from produce to soaps to snacks. The coffee and tea were delicious. There’s a nice shaded spot to sit out back and enjoy your drinks as well. Take the time to stop and check this place out!

I have been a heavy drinker when it comes to this place. The coffee is fantastic and worth the wait if there is a line. Honestly if there is a line, I love just pursuing the wonderful food items and chocolates….whilst chatting it up with the wonderful staff. I love going to a place like this that is abundant with character, charm, and quality (and yes I’m referring to not only the coffee but the staff).

This treasure in Hamilton, Virginia is thrilling experience. Everything in the store is wonderful. Soaps, candles, coffee, locally grown flowers, fresh produce, and locally made pottery along with many apothecary items to delight your senses. I want you to love your space. You should visit this gem of a mercantile. After visiting the mercantile I have enjoyed my Boot Jack candle, locally grown wild flowers, fresh organic spinach, a custom one of a kind pitcher for my peonies locally crafted. Enjoy your visit. It’s worth the trip.

This is a really adorable little store, fun to visit even when i don't need anything. They carry fresh organic produce, organic dairy, eggs, ice cream, frozen meats, teas, a large selection of wine, honeys, essential oils, supplements, gifts & unique items.. groceries.. even some pottery & baskets.

And they had my favorite ice cream of all time, which is seasonal and i havent found in a couple years... Trickling Springs Lemon Chiffon!!

The owner is lovely, helpful & friendly. With super limited retail options in Hamilton, it is a gem.

We love the Hamilton Mercentile so much that we named our small but strong family running club after the Merc. We stop by the Merc almost every weekend after our long runs for what we have found to be the best coffee and speciality drinks, not just in this area, but period. Our standard line when traveling is, “the coffee was good, but not Merc good”. We love perusing the carefully curated food, local soaps and candles, and more. The staff is one of our favorite reasons to visit- we adore “Ryan’s” the baristas. I tell everyone passing through Hamilton “ don’t sleep on the Merc as you pass through!”. Don’t you sleep on it either.

What a wonderful gem tucked into a charming little Virginia town! The shop is filled with the usual health store items and overflowing with different, quality finds! And that coffee shop - oh goodness! Truly unique and tasty beverages! I had an oat milk steamer made with a hint of maple syrup and sage....the best taste ever!!! Hubby had an unusual mocha with so many interesting additives in perfect quantities... "best ever" he exclaimed! The store is friendly and fun! Definitely a destination point!

Best little shop of ingredients, healthy kid products. Coffee shop window in the morning has an amazing selection of delicious drinks. This is one of the best kept secrets of Hamilton!

Being a homesick transplant from the southwest US, it was such a blessing to discover a crunchy store like this reminiscent of the kind you find in New Mexico. This was a lovely find! Coffee and tea is great and they have a little of everything.

Your staff was incredibly helpful to my wife who was phone shopping from another state for items for our daughter who was at Patrick Henry's teen camp. Meredith read ingredient labels and searched for just the right items to avoid extra additives that might trigger allergies. We so appreciate the exceptional service and kind helpfulness my wife experienced working with Hamilton Mercantile.

Looks like a throwback health food store, in an historical storefront, but it's updated. Good coffee/tea bar and other drinks, as well as produce, some frozen and refrigerated food, gifts, and natural personal care products.

I love shopping here! I started coming to the Natural Mercantile when I was a child with my mom, and then on my own at 16 when I first started my reduced sugar diet, gluten free, and more. Little did I know how much I would fall in love with this store! I was overjoyed to find SO many products I had found on the internet were available to me LOCALLY! No more waiting for products to arrive or hours of trying to compare online. Now I could hold up multiple bottles of stevia, gluten free flours or whatever with ease.

Soon after I realized that the store contained more than just wonderful products. The owner and employees had knowledge and kindness that surpassed all my expectations.

People and employees have come and gone since my first visits to the Natural Mercantile, but the kindness, care, and support has not. I am so grateful to be a supporter of this little local store. It's the best!

Meredith @ The Hamilton Mercantile helped me assemble a wonderful new baby gift bag including unique and high quality fruit, cheese, sweets and other goodies that the new parents were delighted to receive. A local shop that provides healthy and special foods is a treasure for any community.

The owner was so friendly and helpful! She let me try some of the new vegan chocolate and organic grapes. Highly recommend this store, a lot of unique chocies! :)

Random stop by my wife & I introduced us to a wonderful, now regular, stop in Hamilton, Virginia. Very friendly staff can help you fine literally everything from local, artisan soaps, herbs, meats, cheeses, to imported oils, vinegars, and other amazing products. Definitely worth stopping by (closed on Sundays!).

Such a cute little.place to wander around and each time I come here I find something new. I know that I'd I come here I will always find something special and unique whether for me or someone else. In fact I usually come here for items for others but end up treating myself too!

I love this place so much. my favorite blueberry kombucha lives here and so does my favorite chocolate of all time (honey mamas.) staff is always so sweet and helpful, too.

Very pleasant, inviting atmosphere. Sue and her staff are knowledgeable and kind.Great products and fair prices. A very cool place to shop.
