The Colonnade is a beautiful place to stay if you're in Eureka! I have stayed in both rooms and love them both. They are comfortable and quiet. Mike and Denise are amazing hosts who make you feel welcome and make sure your stay is enjoyable. My favorite is Room 2 with it's amazing shower with both a waterfall and rainfall spouts. The beds are super comfortable and I love the built in Bluetooth speakers so that I can listen to music or podcasts. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

5 stars isn't enough! This was a great experience, this is by far the best place to stay in Eureka. I highly recommend staying here, they go the extra mile to make you comfortable. See my review on AirBnB for more details!

As soon as I planned to visit Eureka, I knew the Colonnade was the one place I wanted to stay. We were fortunate and secured the room. Wow, that is all I can say! Mike and Denice thought of everything.
Our suite was an open concept two-story. It had a super comfortable bed a futon for friend. The office area all the high-tech goodies, and a gorgeous bathroom. The hi-light was the original hotel neon sign over the bed.
They even provided a selection of yummy goodies, water and juice, and a coffee station including Keurig, French press, teas, hot cider, and even oatmeal. The accommodations are exceptional, with a balance of history and modern conveniences.
I look forward to my next visit and plan to stay longer.

If you're simply looking for a horizontal place to recline until you leave in the morning, there are lots of places to stay overnight in Eureka.

You'll probably have a coffee maker where you will get the usual one packet of regular and one packet of decaf coffee, and ice machine, and a television set, along with the standard bar of soap and shampoo. Some towels and a wash cloth. Better than pulling off the side of the road to try to sleep.

You have another choice though. You can stay in a place that was especially made for you.

Even though it was originally constructed in 1880 during Eureka's boom years, your accommodations will be a far cry from the 20 former rooms. "Remodeling" doesn't do justice to the space you will find yourself in. Although the outside of the structure is historical in nature, the inside is 21st century modern with every state-of-the-art convenience you can think of. In addition, there are touches you won't find in any hotel in Eureka, and you'd be hard-pressed to find them anywhere else in the state. Lots of USB ports. A full kitchen, with all the utensils, pots, and pans you'll need. Washer and dryer. Bluetooth sound. Great wi-fi. Two large flat screens. A comfy bed. More coffee than you can drink in a day. Lots of parking. And tons of other little touches you'll rarely if ever see in a hotel. I was personally impressed by the huge shower head that's, like, 8 inches square. I scoured the premises for a flaw and could find none.

Well, I did find one.

The upstairs railing cable is WAY out of tune. The six strings are tuned D-D-G-B-B-C, and the correct tuning should be E–A–D–G–B–E. I have a feeling, though, that you will easily be able to overlook this defect and really enjoy your stay at the Colonnade and Eureka.

My daughter found this wonderful establishment and it became the highlight of our trip. The owners are very friendly and have updated the old hotel to have a few apartments. They have done all the work themselves and the results are ideal.
