Decided late on a Friday that I wanted to kayak Saturday so I called first thing Saturday morning and got a reservation. All I wanted to do was be on the lake and relax and this was the perfect experience. I packed a little cooler and my speaker. There’s a few areas where you can jump out and the water is low enough to wade. Overall this was such an easy and chill experience. Rented a tandem for two hours and the price was really reasonable! Would recommend calling to get a reservation as they did seem busy and they might not have any of you just walk up. They have their own parking too, just look for their sign that says “turn here.” I absolutely recommend Sunken Buffalo!

There’s nothing bad to say about our experience with Sunken Buffalo. We called ahead and reserved a noon spot, but we ran late and they were completely accommodating. A quick sign of the release forms, some instructions of where not to go and what to look for, and we were off. The launch location is convenient for ease of entrance and exit from the paddle board. Once out on the lake, be wary of the boat traffic. There is a lot. The views from the water and the overall experience are well worth the price of the rentals.

We stopped by on the 4th of July. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily they had a double kayak available for us. They were friendly and very helpful to 2 fairly novice kayakers, haha. Showed us a map of the area, offered to keep any loose items or wallets we didn't want to take, and provided us with a box to keep our cell phones in on the kayak.

What a fantastic paddle board experience! Great equipment, perfect conditions and a beautiful day made even better by the efficient, friendly and knowledgeable Sunnie and Kurt. Can’t recommend their outfit enough, will definitely be back.

The man there was super nice and helpful, they don't have a huge inventory so definitely make sure you call a day or so in advance to reserve a time slot. We didn't know to call ahead but the guy was able to squeeze us in a couple hours later. Great launching point and the lady setting us up gave us some great info about the area!

Great Experience Overall! The launch location was perfect, a nice and peaceful location. Shortly after launching we were paddling under the flowering bridge, then past Morse Park and on to Lake Lure. Customer service was fantastic as well.

What a great find. The kayaks are perfect condition. The check in process easy. A beautiful area. And the cleanest porta potty bathroom I’ve ever seen 😂. Will be back
