This place was really cool on the inside. There are lots of things to look at, and it has a really nice bar. The food came out quickly. Our server was very polite and was on top of keeping our drinks refilled. Food was very good my whitefish dinner was one of the best I've had so far. The sides were amazing. Pickle fries were top notch. We will be back to try other menus items and some of the drinks as we come through this area often.

So yummy! Had a burger n fries ...perfectly cooked....waitress was excellent...especially since there was 9 of us n 4 were kiddos.......we will be stopping again♡....oh n the ox burger is like amazing can't go wrong if your hungry on that order♡♡♡

We went in and had to wait for 15 or 20 minutes! Figured the food was good! Everyone was there! Friendly service and even got some good clean jokes! And ate there and took take out so we could eat dinner later! ❤❤

My fiancé and I stopped here for lunch after visiting Oswald’s Bear Ranch. ❤ the service was amazing! The food was great! My fiancé loved his Paul Bunion sandwich. I liked my nachos, but if you order them, I recommend asking for extra cheese as there wasn’t much resorting to most of my toppings falling off the chips 😅 they were still really good none-the-less!

Down to earth restaurant with good food and friendly service. Perfect for filling our bellies before hiking at Tahquamenon Falls State Park! Definitely food choices for one’s inner Yooper 😊 The cheese curds were awesome! The macaroni & cheese tasted much better after I let it sit, cool, and the sauce thickened a bit, but I prefer my homemade Mac in all honesty. The pastie alone was a bit bland, the shell soft and thin, but the meat was very tender and adding the gravy was definitely key to it hitting a positive note on my taste buds! I always try my pastie alone before going for the gravy though. We will definitely return to try more options from the menu!

Our family of 6 visited Timber Charlie's in Newberry, MI on July 6, 2022 for dinner.
All food we ordered was delicious and service by Kayla was efficient, friendly, and attentive.

Appetizers:
Cheese curds - can't stop on these!
Pickle Fries - interesting!
Onion Rings - these were giant rings :)

Mains - all great! :
Grass Fed "Wagyu" Beef steak with mushrooms and sauteed onions - perfectly done and delicious!
Wild Caught Whitefish Dinner
Beef Taco Salad
Beef Tenderloin Tip Dinner
Grilled Chicken Salad with avocado

Steaks were done exactly as ordered, wee juicy and soft. Fish was done perfectly and was fresh and juicy.

P.s. Try to make a reservation as the place was packed and most people entering had a reservation. We were lucky to get seated in 25 min without reservation.

Great food and great service and great atmosphere. Our waitress, Kaylee, was on top of her game and was a fantastic, friendly server. We had the TC’s big Yooper pretzel with cheese, amazing, and a pastie (rhymes with nasty) with a side of gravy and cole slaw. Will definitely be back next time we are in Newberry!

One lost weekend we stumbled into Timber Charlie's late at night, half hour before close, to be greeted by Roxy the bartender. She was amazing, the drinks are fantastic, the food is absolutely fantastic. We were the last people to leave that night, and the first to show up in the morning for breakfast. Not a place to miss if you ever are out this way. The giant deep fried pretzel is something I will never forget.

This will now be a mainstay each time we visit the UP. Fantastic food and a great bar with cheaper beer. Some of the best ribs I’ve ever had not located in the south. The fish is fresh caught from Lake Superior and you can’t get it better tasting than that.

What a great local place! The food was so good! Lots of variety. Cheese curds and pretzel with beer cheese were yummy! The bean burrito was awesome! The best steak fries I have ever had. My kids all got a side of macaroni and cheese and they all loved it! Great service. Good selection of local breweries on tap.

The Waygu beef steak is amazing. Do not order it above medium if you love taste. Also the French fried pickles with the chipotle ranch are so good. The staff here is friendly and attentive. If you are in the area this is a must stop. Also if you're going to Tahquamenon falls skip the brewery and all the crowds and come here instead!!!

Quality restaurant that has no business being as good as it is! Great all-Michigan-brewery beer selection on tap. Food is well above average. Buddy and I visited here two nights on a row and tried several meal options - beef tenderloin tips, shaved ribeye sandwich, smoked pork nachos, french onion soup, and a wet burrito. All were quickly prepared and served hot and delicious. We also tried their appetizer platter which basically could have been meal for two on its own.

We were also the knuckleheads that showed up 30 minutes before closing, and the staff welcomed us and was just generally wonderful.

Quite a gem!

On my brother's recommendation, I tried the Philly cheese steak sandwich. While the fries are ok, the sandwich was spectacular. I don't get to Newberry often, but I've found my go-to restaurant when I'm in the area. Pleasant atmosphere. Great service.

Very nice restaurant. It was small, but quiet inside even with the games on! Very good beer selection and friendly staff. We only got appetizers, but they were delicious

We got there about 6:30 and had to wait an hour to get in, but we grabbed a beer and sat outside until we could be seated. Our waitress was great and super inviting and friendly. We had the perch, which was good along with the pretzel with beer cheese as an app. Others in our party had the taco salad with pork which she loved and the BBQ pork sandwich which he said hit the spot. I gave atmosphere only 4 stars because we had to wait, there's limited seating, but we did come during peak color season so we have to take that into account.

Great place, we went during the day so it was early but the staff was very good, the food was decent.

A quaint little establishment with exotic decor. The food was good and it's a great place to sit and look at the boats.

Good food, clean and well-run restaurant, super pleasant staff. As of today this restaurant has nearly 1,200 ratings with a very respectable star count. It is one of the only places to eat in the area and so it's pretty busy. We were here on a Thursday in April and still every table was occupied. We both got the pulled pork sandwich which was delicious, and the seasoned fries were perfectly cooked. We definitely will be back.
